Nice review man! I've been very impressed by the quality of Arturia hardware and products so this is definitely a good keyboard. The usb cable wrap-thing is very smart!
Hey, great video! Just a question about the pitch "wheel". Does it work like a real one, can you hold it at any position for a longer time or does it immediately jump back to zero position like the pitch wheel knobs on other keyboards. Can you move the "wheel" slowly, fast, freely? I hope you get what I want to lead up to. Thanks!
hey man! nice vid! Just wondering if you have a way around to getting sustain on this keys? thats what's holding me back tbh. also wondering how its key velocity feels - better than the xkey25 you got? or worse ty!
Wassup family there is actually a "Hold" button on this that sustains any note you play and pressing hold again releases that sustain. As for the keys, while the xkey does a really good job of translating velocity with such a thin keybed, the Microlab has a very satisfying keybed that plunges pretty deep and expresses velocity as well as aftertouch pretty well.
Thanks for the excellent review bro! I got rid of an Alesis Q49 midi keyboard for this one. Can't wait to get mine in a few days. p.s. I would really love if you or someone else reading can confirm if there is any type of Mellotron synth in Analog Lab Lite software??
There is actually. There are few Mellotron presets available in Analog lab lite and even more in the Full version of Analog lab. Those presets or instruments are limited in how deep you can edit them unless you own the actual plugin you’re trying to edit.
Hey BrandoRico, Great video. I saw the MIDI controller a while back and initially thought it was cool. I really like the color scheme, inbuilt cable, and the form factor but I kept comparing with the Minilab which is about $30 -$40 more but gives you knobs, and a drumpad. The form factor of the Microlab is nice, but I really wish they made this one Bluetooth. Then it would have been an instabuy for me. Overall, it's a great keyboard, and a great budget deal for those on the go. I guess I just like having drumpads as well.
same here. I really didn't expect for the keys to feel so premium at this price. Makes me wonder what the bigger keybeds feel like from Arturia. Pads would be cool. Knobs not so much for me because of portability and longevity on the knobs. I'll take knobs on a bigger more stationary keyboard. BLUETOOTH WOULD BE AMAZING 😩🔥🔥
@@BrandonRico Hear hear. Agree on all points. If they find a nifty way of doing knobs without taking much space (for example maybe 1 single touch slider that depends on which drum pad you push, that can be automated), then it would be crazy.
I bought the Minilab mk 11 before I saw this video. I'm glad I did, because I might have been tempted to go for this cheapo. The Minilab is a fantastic keyboard/controller, and I always have it sitting in front of my computer keyboard, so I can just rattle off a few chords/notes/ effects when it occurs to me. The knobs are for fine-tuning or majorly altering a preset, and work very well, and I'm still getting used to doing stuff with the pads, which also work very well. I love it!!!
@@BrandonRico I want more Ableton Friendly layout. Since Logic also uses Clips (Cells Mode) it would be useful for everyone. Also would like to see more pads with 8 Knobs if possible. Keybed is already excellent. Basically better DAW integration.
@@BrandonRico One that I think you'll like (after seeing the Akai on the table) would be the Novation Launchkey Mini MK3. It would replace my Akai, but I'm trying not to buy too many things. 16 drumpads, better arpegiator, and the pitch and mod wheel are sliders as well instead of a joystick.
Honestly I have the mpk mini and I just can't get with the toy like feel of the Keys and they're really tiny. The only I like about the mpk mini is the pads..
Great Vid🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Bro!!! 💪🏾💪🏾 BOLO!

I love the build quality of this thing. The keys feel amazing. And the built in USB cable is very convenient. Huge value for this price point.
Very comprehensive unlike most videos
Love this video. I’m actually expecting mine tomorrow. I’m very excited after watching this.
Guess what fam, after I saw this video, I went to Amazon and placed an order, and it will be here next week fam, thanks for the tutorial.

Yes, you can do all that!
This midi keyboard is compact with great quality. Is the usb cable replaceable?
Arturia definitely has some nice products. Thanks for the review bro!
No doubt. I'm thinking about upgrading all my larger keyboards to an Arturia 🤷🏾♂️👀 we'll see
Is there tutorials of microlab to make covers?

@@BrandonRico Thanks for the prompt response! Subscribed!
One great Mellotron sound with the Lite is the Strawberry Fields flute sound (i.e. the most important sound on the record!)
Great video Lil Bro! Drop more of these... GOOD BIDNESS!!!!
Thanks man. Which other things are you interested in me reviewing?

Great presentation great value

I wish they would release a new MiniLab
That would actually be interesting to see

Novation Launchkey for me. But Arturia has the best key bed out of other controllers that I've used.
Yeah now I'm definitely curious to what the big body Arturias hit like 🤷🏾♂️ thinking about upgrading
