The worst one for us was last season against Liverpool when we scored to go in front with 8 minutes to go. Was given offside but nobody looked into it, just brushed aside with no official replays off the 'offside' because he was way onside. These freak accidents only seem to occur when it involves the bigger teams...

I can shed some light on that for you. That part of the pitch, at Anfield, a Premier League ground, somehow had a blind spot so they couldn't actually review the offside. Which is a joke in itself. The even bigger joke is that the linesman didn't actually flag for offside initially. He was running back to his kick off position when the referee appears to gesture for him to raise the flag. Which then made the on field decision "offside". And with no camera angle to prove otherwise, they had to stick with the "on field" decision.
It was a total howler and cost us our place in the next round and forced us to play a replay that nobody wanted with an already congested fixture list.

From my count, we have been robbed of 6 to 9 points so far.
1 point vs Man Utd (if we score the pen) - No clue how Onana isn't penalised
2 points vs Luton - Proximity and deflected off Gomes' body first. Letter of the law says that isn't a penalty
2 points vs Newcastle - Minimal contact and Hwnag actually pulled his foot away, pretty much a dive
1 point vs Sheff Utd - Even less contact and Silva pulled his foot away, more diving
1 to 3 pts vs Fulham - Minimal contact and Semedo got the ball for the first pen, even more diving and a clear and obvious error. Ream and Vini should have been sent off for two yellows and a straight red for the headbutt respectively. For the second pen, again not too much contact, Fulham player was going down before the contact was made (even more diving) and VAR contradicted their own "clear and obvious" rule to find a way to give it.
The other knock on effect I have seen of all of these awful decisions is that our players look terrified to tackle in the box now, which obviously isn't ideal.

100 percent agree with everything you say Quinny, it’s becoming a joke, it’s honestly taking away my enjoyment of the game this season has been especially bad for us but it’s been going on for a while, lemina last season getting sent off for running up to the ref in an aggressive manner and disallowing a goal at anfield in the cup when they didn’t have a camera angle of the decision to name just a couple. Like GON said this is wrecking his reputation as a manager and wolves progression as a club. What can we do as fans of the game to take a stand against this, there were 3 poor decisions in the Fulham game, I have never not seen a player sent off for a headbutt, it’s either major incompetence on the refs/ var refs part or complete corruption, I don’t see how they can get so many decisions wrong in such a short space of time !!!

Completely agree with all this, fix Var or just get rid of it for something better

9 POSSIBLE POINTS ROBBED. 1 against united (wolves denied pen, apology from PGMOL) 2 against luton (luton given pen, apologyfrom PGMOL) 2 against newcastle (newcastle given pen, apology from PGMOL) 1 against sheffield (sheffield given pen, no apology yet but very similar to newcastle) 3 points from fulham (var apologised for first pen, second pen also not given) people from the big six teams will say "theres an agenda against us" due to one dodgey penalty, but ignore the fact that var has screwed wolves over. if the teams from these decisions didnt get the penalties, and wolves got the points, wolves would be in 6th at the moment. absoloute disgrace considering this is gary oneils second manager job and he's getting screwed over.

Curious what you think about this suggestion Quinny:
Add to the rules a decision that is between a penalty and nothing for infringements inside the penalty box, likely an indirect free kick. This would be for those time where it hits an arm unintentionally, a bit of shirt pulling in the box, a slightly mistimed tackle towards the edge of the box.
A penalty is such an incredibly harsh punishment for some of these incidents and the attacking team didn’t do close to enough to truly earn such an easy goal scoring chance (penalty). Whether it’s a penalty or indirect free kick would be determined by the severity of the infringement and the goal scorer situation (or lack thereof).
I think this would lessen the drama around these decisions and give refs a reasonable middle ground because often a defender has stopped the ball with an arm even though he knew nothing about it, a penalty is extremely harsh since humans just have arms and nothing is harsh on the attackers since the defender has stopped the attack with a part of the body he’s not allowed to use. An indirect free kick returns the ball in a good attacking position for the attacking team but does almost guarantee a goal and give the defence a chance of stopping it.
(I have not thought if every nuance so try not to get stuck on the small details😅)

Why do people keep saying it's VAR? It's people using the technology! Name the refs and stop letting them hide behind a 3 letter acronym!!

Quinny champ, some absolutely amazing points there about which we could talk all day ... for example, the original (1870's) logic behind "handball in the box" was to disuade teams from having TWO goalkeepers ... also, if yer launching a shot toward the corner flag and it strikes an opponent on the hand IN the box, how can that possibly be a penalty? lunacy imho ... such are the IFABbers ... fun and games 🙂

also, re Wolves ... i recall that our beloved Celtic looked world class v the wolves in pre-season 23-24 ... many were saying that the wolves were certs for relegation ... it seems however that they have greatly improved in the few short months since then, fair play

I was extra fuming about Wolves getting screwed on Monday. Had Jose Sa as my last player in the prem limited comp. Was 40th when the game started, finished 104th due to Sa’s 3 goals conceded 😭 difference between $15 and $60!
