    Just what I was looking for!
    And direct and to the point, with no introduction. Perfect video.

    Thanks, this was exactly what I needed to know. I found it difficult to follow what you were doing but with a bit of replaying and a lot of experimenting with the settings I got there in the end.

    Good tutorial, worked for me.
    But watch it on half speed and I would say it is an tutorial for advanced Blender users a beginner just would not know how to continue sometimes...
    Still thank you.

    Hello. I also learned a lot from this tutorial.
    I didn't know the difference between extruding a bone and creating it in edit mode.
    After seeing this tutorial, I can see exactly... I didn't understand the hook function at first... After following it a few times, I understand it. Thank you very much!

    This method looks great! I saw a different method where the modeller used single bones for each segment of the spring. Lots of bones to keep the spring from squashing. This approach is much simpler and works like a champ.
    CN i ask how came up WI this idea?

    If you close your eyes and listen carefully it seems like nawazuddin is helping you rig.

  • @YuriKruglov
    @YuriKruglov 4 роки тому +4

    The main issue is that you cant export this rigged spring to fbx as mesh because it is curve. So this method is limited to blender use only.

      @Con Koumis but then the coil itself will deform when you stretch/squeeze the spring

    But how to constrain the pivot on the top? after all done well I it works perfectly fine in the x view only. Now I tried to add location constraint to the top too bone, but the bottom one I has no Idea what could stop it from swinging all over the place

  • @mrdixioner

    In Cinema 4D this is much easier and faster: no bones are needed, all restrictions and dependencies are made on the objects themselves. In Blender, everything is too complicated as always.

  • @jasonnehceis3267
    @jasonnehceis3267 2 роки тому +3

    You can do the same thing with only 5 regular objects, NO bones at all and much fewer steps using the "track to" and "stretch to" constraints and the hook modifier to get the spring stretch without deforming the radius of the coils.

  • @Hashemiro

  • @evanwilliams1199

    Is there a simpler way to rig linear bones? This is great, but it seems needlessly complicated. Like, is there a way to create a linear joint using only one bone, for example?

    • @RomboutVersluijs
      @RomboutVersluijs 2 роки тому

      Complicated? I saw a different method where each small segment of the specific Ng was a bone, thus a gazillions bones. This approach is much cleaner and simpler

    Great video but few things, you could slow the video to let follow more easily and the setup seems to be a bit complicated using bones. Why you used bones instead of object constraints? Lots of work to simple limit movement. Thank you!

    Sorry but this is one hell of a confused tutorial. To me it feels like you just made this tutorial on the fly. You had to redo so many steps during the tutorial because you were unsure where you were going. In the end i was left with more questions than answers and, yes you guessed right, confusion
