Seems like they don't want any sort of body modifications either. I'm not sure if my center will take you if you have gotten a tattoo in the past 3 months. It's a yes or no question. I'm sure people lie about it all the time tho. As long as it's not on your arms because they physically ask to see my arms everytime. As far as my theory goes, flesh wounds create more white blood cells and raise your hematocrit. If your blood is too thick they can't take as much plasma. My average is 45 hematocrit and 7.5 protein. Blood pressure 175/75. The highest hematocrit they will allow is 52. Anything more they won't take you. If you measured 51 let's say, they will still take you bur you get paid less.

I got a tattoo on my outer arm/shoulder area and it bruised from the outside to the inside of my arm it was WILD. I mean dark blue/black bruise covering my whole arm that migrated all the way. It was crazy.
I always wondered and did some research about if I could get a cover up without having an AI attack. These diseases are the most painful debilitating torture that we go through and still haven't found anyone with these diseases talking about them getting tatted and what's it like.

My chest/sternum tattoo was the hardest. It was only 4 hours but I felt like I was being branded with a hot iron on fire the entire time. It was serious pain. I would never do that one again. No touch ups lol 😂 the bruising tends to be worse. I don’t feel bad or get infections. I always use saniderm or similar products to heal. Have not had an issue yet. But I take care of them extra well because I am immunocompromised. I take a few days extra to heal as well typically and have a ton of plasma leakage usually. Like so much compared to normal skin. We are unsure why. Just gotta find someone you trust.

I got 8 tattoos before I got sick but have been to afraid to get more because I've read that sometimes the body treats the ink like an adverse reaction! I would love to hear more on this subject. I want 2 more, but not worth excess pain on top of what I already go through every single day. 😢
My simple understanding is the lasers break down the ink particles to a small enough size that those macrophages can now break them down and remove them from the body

I can't use black box dye anymore bc I got tattoos and the reaction was so bad this second time I got nasty chemical burns. I will still get tattoos but use semi permeant black dye only.

I was going out with this psychobilly guy and he wanted me to touch up his hair,but the black box dye that was used caused an INSANE REACTION!His eyes were swollen shut,his head was double its normal size, and he had pus OOZING out of his scalp!(Yes,we went to the ER quickly !)😮

Everyone's pain responses are different. I'm an aerial dance instructor and hyposensitive to most topical discomfort/pain. Tattoo discomfort doesn't bother me, and I don't have any issues afterwards. If you're hypersensitive or intolerant to discomfort over long periods of time, then, yeah, tattoos aren't for you.
