Definitely want more digestion videos, this is great. Especially want more detailed explanation of what goes on in the intestinal cells, stomach lining, etc. how long different things take to absorb, how long different foods spend in the stomach and why, etc.

More liquid meals can be greatly beneficial to a certain type of people. I’ve found that for me my morning of liquid vitamins, water/tea, and a protein shake are sufficient until late lunch (3pm) then a light dinner at 5/6pm.
Love the channel mate! I never ask these things but could you please do a video on Proton Pump Inhibitors and how acid affects nutrient absorption!?! I think a lot of other people will appreciate as it’s one of the most common prescriptions. I would be forever grateful!
Plant proteins dont lack aminoacids, they are relatively low in certain aminoácids. The thing is, grains are low in one type and legumes are low in other, so eating a variety of plants during the day provides all the aminoácids you need. Most plant protein powders also are optimized for this, formulated as a mixture of different plant proteins for a complete aminoácid profile.
Bro the thing is you need more volume of plants to get to your protein requirements using plants(and thus money) than using whey protein(yes "good" plant based protein is more expensive) or eating meat, i mean dont get me wrong i use them for my cutting but you get the point, more money and volume need to be used, and not speaking about flavor.
Why accept an inferior form of protein? Meat has always been a human staple for a reason, and that reason is that it's the best and most bioavailable form of nutrition for our species. It's a bonus that it tastes delicious.
Plant protein powder sure, but plants have massive limiting factors when it comes to amino acid profile and availability. You would need to be very particular about your dietary mix and the amounts of individual foods to make are you’re getting even minimum amounts of the protein you really need. It’s infinitely more efficient and easier for the average person to just eat meat.
Waiting patiently for the Carb video! The transformation of Polysaccharides; Oligosaccharide; Trisaccharide; Disaccharide to Glucose which is the Monosaccharide 🤗🤓

🙋I got a question! At 12:20 you mention how we can't decide where our amino acids get allocated, e.g. we can't guarantee amino acids from whey go mainly to our muscles and amino acids from collagen mainly go to our skin. Does this go against claims around taking collagen peptides having benefits for skin? Let's just say amino acids do benefit skin in some way: if the body treats amino acids indiscriminately regardless of protein source, then that would mean whey protein should improve our skin just like collagen peptides, right? And when we're talking about muscle building, provided that we are in a positive nitrogen balance, we could theoretically use collagen peptides instead of whey protein powder as a supplement for muscle building purposes as long as we make up for its incomplete amino acid profile with another source of protein that compensates for it, right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
There are no essential carbs or fiber. Remember that. Body makes all the glucose necessary from protein and fatty acids. Didn't mention gluconeogenesis.
True, but it's ok to eat carbs and fiber. Sure, you could live off just protein and fat but it's realistically much less convenient. Not to mention vegetables of course. Maybe if you're on a fat loss diet limiting breads and pastas is good (sugar too obviously) but it's more important then to lower consumption overall
I am also interested to know the role and contribution of kidneys and other vital organs to the protein synthesis.. Thanks for video. It was insightful.
Collagen, an animal protein source is the only one which is totally lacking an essential amino acid. All plants have all essential amino acids, the ratios are different but plant sources are all complete

Already love it from the introduction. Finished typing and starting to watch now
Make a video of combining protein and carbs together and absorption
If we're taking more protein than necessary. Say more than 1g per kg or so. If we're going well over are we at risk of creatinine spiking nd hence renal function and liver function issues.
Especially is this an issue for people taking anti inflammatorys (fibromyalgia) . 2) Do body builders perpetually on high protein diets develop these issues?
Thank you for the very educational video😃
Are those bodies behind you? 😮
Brilliant content as always
Glad you enjoyed it!!
As Vegan it's confirms what I know about breaking down proteins to single amino acids and mixing them during 24 hour period..
Also for people who think that plant based protein is inferior think about where animals which you are eating get their protein..
Ur video is so easy to understand ,based on that anyone can know about their body part and nutrition (specially for gym rat )
👍🏻
Great, here we have no teacher like you
I feel smarter after watching this. Thanks 😊
I enjoy these videos so much! You two make it so easy to understand. Now I know about my protein intake, which I needed to do, since I don't eat that much protein. Thank you 👍🏼
Broski protein digestion never takes place in oral cavity we have no enzymes to breakdown protein in oral cavity only in our gastric mucosa!
Do a video on ketosis vs eating complex carbs for athletes. 💪
Can you add a couple of words about pregnant people and protein absorbing and utilising it for the baby and consequently how much is needed for a pregnant person?( Plant options of protein recommendations would be appreciated:))
Thank you for making high quality contents
I love waching your videos ❤
Would love to see you interact with folks like Menno Henselmann, Dr. Mike Isratel, Andy Galperin, etc...on topics like these. I feel like a meeting of the minds would be a fascinating watch with everything you know and the research they do.
Timing couldn’t be perfect.. I was breaking my head trying to figure out what the best way to take protein and if I should be considering taking casein as well. But it seems that I have to get the basics right first.
Thanks for the great video as always!
This is a brilliant video. Can you also explain the role of gut bacteria in digestion?
