Great review! I love my Aqara sensors! Can’t beat the prices for HomeKit supported products. And the water sensors supposedly can handle humid and dusty environments which is perfect for garages or attics, which is where I put mine.

How did you get the sensor to show up in home kit like that

Can you just use plain copper wire attached to the hex screws as extension probes? Or is there something special you have to buy?

Where do you get The water sensor extension wire?

Is there a way to know how much battery it has left? Does it say % in the app?

I'm setting up an automation in the Aqara app for the alarm but don't see anyway of controlling the volume of the alarm. Any help would be appreciated.

No, you dont ”need” an aqara hub! You can run it with HA, like conbee II

You can also use these sensors with Hubitat without using their hub.

Hi, can it be placed (submerged all the time) in a water bowl to detect
when water run out? I want to place it in a water bowl for my pet, so
that I would know when water is empty and need to be refilled.

They say its IP67, when you look up IP67 it says "Protected against the effects of temporary immersion between 15cm and 1m. Duration of test 30 minutes" so id say no my guy

PLEASE be more genuine: pause at 3:03 at speed 0.25 and u notice the activation took effect even before the water touched the sensor . looks more like a paid advert!
