Connections 371 - NYT Word Game - 16 June 2024

The New York Times is back with another new daily word game, Connections! This is heavily inspired by "The Wall" from the BBC quiz show Only Connect. You must sort the sixteen given words into thematically appropriate groups of four--and you only have a few opportunities for error! I don't know if I'll be solving this every day but I'm giving it a shot for now at least. We'll see how it goes. Let me know how you like it!

“Fish tale” is an exaggerated story, for example saying that the six inch bluegill you caught was actually a two foot bass.

ornaments last, didn't know pinwheel was what we call a windmill in the UK

This took a bit of sorting out, but I got it in the end. I'm in the US and was not aware that pinwheels could be lawn ornaments. I only think of the child's toy -- a plastic wind catcher in a small stick.
