No h1 or w1 chip, ear detection, but it has usb c, anc, transparency. It’s like they took one step forward and two steps back. They added new features but removed some that the power beats pro had. Maybe they didn’t want it to compete directly with the new AirPods rumored. No h1 chip is already a deal breaker for me.

While it doesn't have the W1 or H1 chip, if you have a more recent model iPhone (my guess iPhone 8/8 Plus/X generation to start), all you need to do is put the charging case with the ear buds in it next to the phone and the iPhone will recognize the earbuds.

I think it's a big mistake from Apple that they didn't put the H1 chip in.
Because I don't see the point for an iOS user to choose these $150 Beats Studio Earbuds to the detriment of Airpods-Pro that we find quite regularly at $180.
For Android users too, I don't see the point as they have no particular advantage over Galaxy Buds Pro, Earfun Air Pro, Soundpeat H1, Jabra 85T, Huawei Freebuds Pro, Amazon Echo Buds 2,Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro, Edifier Nb2 Pro...🤷🏽‍♂️.

Just ordered these. I purchased Razer's Hammerhead's True Wireless Pro a day or two before these Beats' buds came out. Long story short, I'm sending the Razer's back (problems with random Bluetooth drops and ANC is worse than PNC). Razer is replacing them, to their credit, but I need to have a backup and these Beats seem to be it; we shall see!). I look forward to trying them out. I hope I'm not as disappointed by them as I was by the Razer's and, incidentally, the Jabra Elite 75t's. The latter were great! It's just that they didn't last more than a year. I got a replacement after less than a year of use and, sadly, I experienced the same problem: right bud kept crapping out. Why are these buds such princesses?! For the kind of coin we drop on them, one rightly should expect more.

Good to see a company opening up to both Android and not just Apple.
About time. The market is overcrowded with earbuds once again.
So it is only right that brands pull out all the stops and get more dynamic.
Just look what Bowers & Wilkins & Sony have just brought out.
Now it’s up to Bose, Sennhesier and the B&O to hit the market with updated models to keep the competition alive.
Curiously, you did not mention the specs.
It’s about time brands came clean with what’s coming to our ears…
Sennheiser give the best performance where frequency response is concerned with 5-21000 Hz and about 112 db at between 19-23 ohms.
Can Beats by Apple compete with that?
No brand gives it all in one package that would mean selling themselves short!
Going to test these against my Bose qc earbuds and the Sen Momentums ASAP!

After working there for a year I've yet to see a pair make it past about the 1.5 year mark without having some part of it replaced already. And recently service options changed, so if you're out of warranty you can do mail-in or carry-in, both will end up with you having to pay for each part to be replaced even if, say, only the left has stopped working.

Not having the H1 chip isn't that big of a deal.
    - The automatic connection between devices is a relatively new feature since iOS 14 yet there's connection issues.
    - The auto pause/play is really subjective, and a preference some would disable
    - and spatial audio, there's movie streaming services which use it, but for music I think only Apple Music has this feature.
I suppose not having an H1 chip doesn't future-proof the revolution Dolby Atmos is gonna be, or possible incremental updates in the future. But, it'll take a few years for that, since spatial audio atm is only useful in some songs and others sound horrible.

    • @manutdboy3326
      @manutdboy3326 3 роки тому +1

yeah even I don't like auto pause/play because sometimes earbuds have sensor issues when we wear it. So music stops itself, it's pretty annoying actually. 🤨

They won't. We don't even have actual service options for them. I mean, they'll make us lie to you and pretend like you have options, but even if you go in store for help they'll force you to mail in the entire set anyway.
Edit: thinking about it, we don't even have troubleshooting steps for them. It's literally just 'reset them,' and if that doesn't work you're screwed. At least with Airpods we can check firmware, learn more about where the issue lies with the LED during the reset, etc.
