Yesterday at a dressage show my horse refused to load into the float to go back home, and we tried to load him for two hours and in those two hours it rained, hailed and snowed.
Haha! Come ride in the winter in the uk. We have mud up to our knees!!
we only ever get rain that what the uk weather I like I used to leese a grey never doing that again most of my time was cleaning mud of his body

I have been going threw so many pairs of jodhpurs when I come to ride I have none so now I have to wear jogging bottems over the top of my jodhpurs. you know what is also annoying my horse has a annoying habit of when I come to catch her she trots away for a few second and flicks wet mud all over me and being small it littery goes everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

Your winter seems like our summers. But than again, I'm just a stone throw from Canada. So wet-ish summers and winter's with 5ft of snow with too much wind....
But the feels man with day light. Sun doesn't rise till 9am, and it's night by 4-4:30pm in winter. At least in summer there's roughly 20 hours of light a day!

I know its winter and I cant wait for summer and when you own horses winter is nnever good as I am always paying for new rugs one because they get super muddy two because my horse cant help to roll and eventually the rug wears down and rips but now I have a slightly more heavy duty one

Yep! Come and ride where I live in Australia! Mud in winter (not in the snow) gets to about the sole of your shoe at max. BUT I live in the city so that makes quite a difference.
Summer in Finland: 9°C-20°C and rarely over 20°, always raining. Winter in Finland: -20° and snowstorms basically every day

Lexi I live in Perth and our summers and winters are generally warmer than the rest of Aus and over here it's usually 8-10C on a cold day. Gets to 1 or 2C at night but that's it. Other parts of Aus have - degrees and we do actually have snow surprisingly just in very few places.
Lexi i am in SA Like Hannah. It usually gets around -5 (sometimes) at night. I am in a colder area of SA however.

I use car upholstery foam cleanser to clean the inside of my Charles Owen (removes makeup and other stuff) and also use shoe deodoriser to kill bacteria and to keep it smelling ok. I sometimes leave my helmet on the fence to dry after riding for 15minutes, the sun kills the bacteria lol.

Oi mate tell me about it Perth isn't used to the rain at all even in winter but a couple weeks ago there was a huge four day downpour and all our roads now are covered in detour signs while workers have to fix pot holes fml

Couldn't agree more, I absolutely hate the darkness of winter but where I live we only get about 4 - 5 hours of daylight during the winter and it honestly makes me so depressed, I can't stand it

This is just spring and fall for us :D In winter it's -25C and somewhere almost a meter of snow here in Finland. And the horses have only like one rug if even that :D

Can't wait for some cooler weather here so I can actually tack up instead of just using a bareback pad because it's too hot for proper riding! That said I don't envy your mud at all and I'm not too eager for the massive fuzzballs my ponies will become soon!

If you live in the UK the mud is soooooo deep, once I fell into this very deep bit of mud and I was in it up to my waist and everyone had to come and pull me out 😂😂😂😂😂
pshhhh try Riding in Vermont Winters, when sometimes you can't ride it's so cold that ice crystals can form in your horses lungs and there's waist high snow on the ground the majority of the time, ice falling off the indoor roof and your farrier getting creative to keep the snow from packing into the hooves lol. I'll take it!

OH THE DAYS OF TOE WARMERS AND SPECIAL WINTER RIDING BOOTS AND CRYING BY THE HEATER IN THE TACK ROOM AND HAVING TO HAVE THREE DIFFERENT WATER BUCKETS FOR THE STALL SO YOU CAN PUT THE FROZEN ONES IN THE TACK ROOM TO THAW
It gets close to 50 degrees (122f) where i live in Aus so we're complete opposites but trust me that's fucked too you can't even move let alone ride every time i breathe it feels like my lungs are burning lol
Oh honey I feel you, I've layered three quarter sheets on my horse before over here in VT. Also, multiple pairs of gloves, leggings under breeches and having to buy boots with a bigger calf to fit THE THREE PAIRS OF SOCKS I HAVE TO WEAR
I went to riding today and forgot my muck boots and did want to wear my tall ones the whole time so I ended up horsing off 5 horses in vans👍

My horse gets the rubs on his chest. Had to get a satin bib to stop it as satin is the only thing that won't rub any fur

I have the same problems as you have during winter in Victoria that I have no other choice but to wear gumboots in the paddock. I really liked your wide channel saddle as it looks like it would give lots of clearance for the horses spine so what brand was it. Thanks Darryl

In your helmet just use a piece of printer paper folded over be careful to fold it just once because other wise it will make your helmet smaller and you will get one hell of a headache

Get a samshield or one k helmet. They have detachable liners the you can wash.

Haha come to the UK then you can experience mud. We have a track down in the fields and the whole thing*about 500 yards* is completely mud and it looks solid and then you step on it and you dink to your waist and have to ve pulled out
