I remember mowing my grandparents' yard and taking my $2 to the local gas station so I could spend it all on these. I also remember getting a hickory switch across my legs when I got home for "wasting money". I sold most of my 78's in college and bought my books. Didn't seem like a waste of money to me! Glad to see that I'm not the only card nerd from my generation.
thanks for the nice comment ! If we could only go back and have bought even more packs of these. these were 4 years before i started collecting, but as a kid i liked the cursive on front. i remember my mom getting mad at me when i spent $6.50 on a piece of cardboard in 1983.....it was a 1980 Henderson
That was a jaw dropping, awestricking , mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯 pack my friend. HOF ALL DAY LONG. Oh and you can be greedy. Take all the chalk you can get SFM 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
That was a stud pack my friend. At least the first one was! Wow!!! It shows how 2 rips could have completely different experiences. Btw 75 is my favorite set....can't wait to see you rip it!
That 1st pack was fire. Charlie Hustle gets my vote. I always get a good laugh from 70s cards. There are so many funny names, hair styles, and unflattering photos. There are plenty of great looking cards, tho as well.
Fun video Snowman. Bought a lot of 78 baseball cards back in the day. Still have them buried in my card cabinet. My vote is #1 Andre Dawson followed by Pete Rose.
Nice break, been enjoying the old school packs. First pack was definitely strong but the second pack had a Glenn Burke RC. I won't explain why he's famous but I sold a sharp, cello fresh copy about a year and a half ago for around $30. I should have graded mine, not too late for you though, that could be a 9. Cool breaks!
Awesome. However what's scary is grading is so iffy, as PSA or other grading companies are still so harsh when it comes to grading no matter how old a card is. I guess that's why sales are so high for anything before 1980.
🍊🍊🍊You gotta love those back-to-back Phil & Nolan cards! Thanks for your enthusiasm and for sharing.🍊🍊🍊
of course, thank you !
My third year collecting was '77 pulled all those cards as a kid. Loved watching. Thanks
Such a great video!!! So happy I found it, my favorite is the 78’ set and to hear you get excited is soooo cool. Love it!!!!!

Thank you for the series. I have enjoyed the opening of boxes that I could never open myself. Great job. It's Pete Rose.

The Dawson is my favorite. I love that card of The Hawk.
yup one of my favorites, and his first solo card
Good stuff! My favorite is Dawson too, that was the first old card I bought as a kid. Amazing to hit the Nolan/Niekro back to back!
that's a neat story ! you always remember your first "old" card !
Love the cup Dawson so beautiful and centered
yup such a neat card of a still kind-of underrated player
Amazing first pack. I have to go with the Rose for my favorite but the Dawson and Ryan cards are great too.
all old cards are great ! thanks for the vote !
Videos like this always make me wonder how much 70s wax is still out there.
i think there is still quite a bit post-1974

I’m going with the second year Andre Dawson card
good pick !
cool about the 74 Arron's, makes me want to hunt them down, happen to know if the 86 Rose are like that also?
yes - OPC does not have the "Rose years" at all though.
@@ilovebaseballcards9334thanks for the update, I always figured the OPC was a little rarer then basic, never understood the lower value
I think you got a hot pack lol
ya- me too !
Pete has my vote.
