@@DarkKnight_god jeez thanks captain obvious. I didn’t open a video just to skip 20 minutes. If i open a video then don’t drag the thing with stuff that i don’t care about.

I would upgrade if I could, but my Ally got a broken Right trigger button and Asus didnt want to repair it even during warranty period. So I have half broken Ally which I cant sell.
What I dislike about the rog ally and the rog ally x has the same problem for me is the screen. The screen size set me off because of those black bars. I was hopping that the x will have less black bars espatially on the top and button. It resembles a phone screen with that tall top and bottom.
The screen is actually incredible on it and I own plenty of OLEDs and the Ally screen still looks amazing. Want a bigger portable screen - just attach some AR glasses and booM portable cinema screen . It's the perfect size .
Can't wait for the comparison video. I do have the special edition Steam Deck OLED 1 TB, but I might get the Ally X. Love my ASUS laptop that does do games. Oh, and I have a handheld Bluetooth keyboard with a mouse pad I use on my Steam Deck.
Sounds dumb but the only reason I haven’t bought this is the bezels. They are way too big. Just makes me think about the wasted space that could have been screen space.
I had the OLED. I absolutely loved it. But not being able to play certain games due to anti cheat and Ally X just being a more powerful console made me switch. I'll come back to steam when the SD 2 is released 😢
If it helps I have both at the moment and the Ally X performance wise and compatibility wise is the better device. The Steam Deck OLED is the slightly more comfortable and accesible device with its Steam OS software. Just easy to use and straight to point. You don’t have to fiddle around with the Ally to get everything up and running. Screen wise OLED has better colors and brightness but the Ally X has a smoother screen. Also forgot to mention the better battery life on the X, don’t get me wrong the Steam Deck battery is still pretty good.

However with all the customer service experiences from other tech channel, which is not very pleasant, I will have to skip this device and their brand. Game plan is, either PS5 Pro, and then Steam Deck 2 is out. Good device.
They offer $230 trade in for my like new Rog Ally. It could not be worth my Ally and $600 dollars. That is about double what the upgrade would be worth. Can't buy the Steam deck because I would only want the limited edition version which they made limited for no good reason. They must not like money is all I can figure. They lost me over that.
What FPS do you get average in Jedi Survivor? It is one of my favorite games to play but it struggles very badly on my original ROG Ally. It seems memory limited so I’m wondering if the extra ram helps. I get 40-45 fps on Ally.

The software continues to be a disappointing nightmare, there’s no ability to set any per game settings, and I’m constantly battery peaking. The Ally X screen is a let down to not match the size of the OLED Steam deck, but the VRR really does make every game super smooth. I’ve got both and I’m leaning toward selling my 2TB Go.
I don’t have the Ally I do have the Go and the Deck but I would never recommend the Go. Customer support is bad it’s like they don’t know the device exists. When I got my device back it was in even worse packing it was a scrambled mess( one controller was off, thumbsticks were off.) Temps still seem higher than when I first got the device it seems stressful playing honestly I think the device would’ve really benefited with another fan instead of just one 😪
