I am a 70 year old black blues guitar player that knew about Joe when he was 13. I always knew he be great but he’s has surpassed my expectations. My first concert I was 15, and saw Johnny Winter And w/ Rick Derringer open for Led Zeppelin greatest show of my life. Incredible indeed. Watched it seven times and every time it gives me goose bumps. Unique talent, great parents, great management (hats off to Roy Weisman and his long term view until finally the Royal Albert Hall and Eric Claption opened up the sky). Producer Kevin Shirley greatly enhances the musical cohesion of the documentary, as he also developed Joe's potential. Muddy is dead, BB is dead, Jimmy and Stevie are dead, but thank God Joe is alive and kicking. Saw him twice (Gent Jazz, Ostend) and what a smoking show it was. So glad that Joe matured into a superb artist, always exploring new stuff (great session with those Greek musicians). The thrill is not gone. Joe, long may you live.
I don't care what the haters say I love Joe B. He seems like a decent person he definitely shares his knowledge and us amateur guitarists out there appreciate it. Not a lot of guys do this and I think it's very cool why horde your knowledge and Joe doesn't.
I've seen Joe twice. I've seen Clapton twice. Clapton is why I play guitar. Joe is why I still play. I can not thank both of them enough for the music they've brought to me.
I remember Robert Plant saying before the last Led Zeppelin reunion that he needed time to get back “into character”. I last saw Joe in Blackpool England with my best guitar playing buddy who unfortunately passed away shortly after. Whenever I see Joe I think of Andy.
I ran into Joe and his crew after a show in a hotel lobby in Florida while I was on a layover. I was like, Bona-who? I went upstairs pulled up his music and was completely blown away
What an amazing video/movie/documentary. I'm a bigtime fan of the Blues and Joe Bonamassa. This video was so well done and inspiring. Thanks for sharing and keeping the Blues Alive. Will see you again when you come back to Tucson :-)
I started playing guitar in 1975. I’m the youngest of 6, 5 boys.10 years ago I introduced Joe to a brother who passed away a week ago and he was hooked. He took me to see Joe in 2022 in a smallish venue. Joe was sick but he played his butt off and we had goosebumps all night. I’ll never forget it😢 I can get few licks off, but Joe well, is Joe..
I saw a video about "Bloodline" years ago. And I thought, wow, this kid is amazing. He has the chops of guys who have been playing for their whole life. I have been a session musician playing on TV and films, so I like to know what I am talking about. He has done as much for the Blues community as the Stones, Clapton and John Mayall did in the 60's and Gary Moore in the 90's and should be commended for that! And all the haters in the world can never change the importance of Joe Bonamassa, not only for Blues, but for Rock guitar playing into the future! I have only seen you twice live, but I will always cherish those moments.
Joe is a superbly talented and beautiful minded human being of which makes me proud to be a part of. May you be happy for the rest of your life my friend.
My favourite musician of all time. So many classics that I can't even count them. I was one of the privileged to see him at the Royal Albert Hall. Can't even explain what his music does to me; so much creativity, so many seasons, so deep emotions! Often I'm lost in the midst of a song, forgetting the beginning, wondering how it changed so much, where it went, how different it is to anything else. God Bless you, Joe!!! When you're next in London please come to my restaurant. LOVE YOUUUUUU and all your team! :)xox
This truly takes me back to a feeling I first had when going to a live concert at 17 years old and saw Eddie Van Halen..I know Joes music is different but the same mastery I witnessed was identical. You knew what you were seeing and hearing was something very special and at the rip old age of 61 I believe Joe has recaptured that for me. His dedication to his craft is not something you see as much these days in an artist of such caliber. Thank you Joe for inspiring me personally to open up my ears and learning how to hear music all over again.
Thanks to Joe - he is one of those who got me interested in blues. In Russia it is not the most popular genre of music, but it is played here too. At my exam concert I played Elmore James. Sooner or later I will get to Joe.
My first real introduction to Joe's music was his Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House. I have seen him live 5 times since I first heard that CD. I introduced my father to his music and he attended 4 of those concerts with me. It became a great shared love for blues with my father until he passed away a little over 2 years ago. My great friend Mike, who knew my father well, picked up where Dad left off and joined me at Joe's concert in Macon, GA last March. If you have never had the opportunity to see Joe live, I highly recommend you do when you get the chance!!
This documentary is a fabulous success rarely achieved thanks to the talent of the directors who were able to intelligently highlight the know-how and the quintessence of Joe's personality, as well as his exceptional journey on the path that leads to indisputable glory! I've been lucky enough to see Joe ten times here in the UK, from small gigs early on through to bigger venues. Always a great show, and he comes across as a genuine guy.
Absolutely outstanding Documentary, not only about Joe, but about a Genre within itself. So many sub genres get lost, blues however just gets better and better.

Amazing guitarist, (kept to just one superlative!), beautiful person! Long may he live and help keep the blues alive as only he can. Watched him and Josh Smith together in Brighton uk. Incredibly entertaining and captivating. He was definitely loved!
Been following this guy for 20+ years and as a guitar player myself I have always been soooo impressed with not only his prowess on the guitar but for who he is and the way he does things. His affection for the blues and his encyclopedic knowledge of vintage guitars and the artists that went before him is unequalled by any other musician ( that I can think of ) he doesn’t compromise. His collecting is not a example of his wealth but simply his love of the history and the stories that accompany the instruments. To be the kind of success that Joe is in the music biz speaks volumes of his accomplishments and determination,, he just doesn’t need a corporate entity getting in his way. Love this documentary and have huge respect for Joe and always will ! Thanks Joe !

The Ballad of John Henry is one of the greatest albums ever recorded so much emotion in those songs, I knew whoever wrote those songs was going through something there's no way to play like that without real life experience! I put that album up there with Van Halen 1, every single note of that album is important and needed!
Kevin Shirley, that was awesome! Discovered Joe back a few when a life long friend asked me, "...you every here of Joe Bonamassa"? No I haven't . Let catch the show in NOLA. That was 12-13 years ago. We've sat front row every year since then. See you guys in NOLA or Biloxi sometimes soon!! Best to Joe!!!

I am grateful for this sensitive documentary that brings us closer to Joe. And also the team and the band that accompany and support him in his development. Great! keep on 🎸🎸🎸
I've been following Joe since the Bloodline days, and I've been to a whole bunch of his shows over the years. I was at the show in St. Charles Illinois back in the day, and I'm going to see him at the Chicago Theater in February. This was a very interesting and well done documentary. It really gives a great insight to his musical journey. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again. Thanks for all the great music Joe! 😁
Good to hear JOE has good management. So many shysters in the past that literally destroyed musicians and entire bands. e..g. Grandfunk Railroad, Badfinger and many others.
Well! I can categorically say that I've never before watched a UA-cam video that's over an hour long! I came to this one with the intention of watching 10 or 20 minutes at most. But I started and stayed the duration. I was just drawn in by Joe's charm and passion. Thank you so much for posting
Came for the documentary, saw the gig listing for Nottingham and booked it before watching through. Advertising obviously doesn't work and I look forward to the gig *very* much.
@ThomasGilmore-fi6gb Hi Thomas yes I'll be honest I haven't listened to Steve Lukather much but having now listened to some of his tracks you can hear he is also a Master musician singer songwriter I can certainly relate to his music and his Audio visual concepts are incredible i love Rock Music and play guitar myself although my passion lies in writing Lyrics and Vocals We all have our Preferences I think Joe and Walter have their own sound and style of playing but when I gave them a mention I was strictly refering to the blues only and not in general terms of good American singer songwriter musicians I hope no offence was taken by my comment King Regards Chris
@ChrisJackson-c3i Every guitar player is an instrumentalist, but every instrumentalist is not a musician. There's a good reason why we have two different words to distinguish between them.
@@ThomasGilmore-fi6gb yes I stand corrected my interpretation of a musician is different not all Musicians are good instrumentalists like you say and Steve Lukather is undoubtedly a very good instrumentalist singer songwriter point taken
The first time I ever heard Joe was the acoustic concert in Vienna on Axis channel on television. I got to thinking about him and then I saw him on my computer and I have been listening to him ever since then. I have never been able to afford to go to one of his concerts and that gives me the blues! But I am going to put enough money for 2 tickets to one of his concerts the next time he comes to the Houston area. I have time. I’m starting to save up now. I checked his calendar and I can’t see him listed anytime soon around here so I have time.
Goodonya Joe! I loved seeing and hearing your journey. It’s amazing in this industry you have remained ( relatively) normal. 😉 Thank you for the music, you have definitely been an inspiration to me and countless others. Keep on keepin on, brother! ❤️🙏🙌
That bit where Joe says he could never pay Eric Clapton back, how about giving him his guitar back, Joe, you own every guitar ever made before 1970! and you own every Fender amp and every merchandise sign ever made alongside all the souls of every blues and rock player that ever lived. Joe, you own EVERYTHING, including every country and all the citizens living in them. One guitar Joe.... come on, he might not even want it now, but the gesture would be good. you can only play one at a time! all of these comments have to be true because I read them in the comments sections on UA-cam videos that have featured Joe in them, and we all know the comments section of youtube has the wisdom and truth of world knowledge within it's scriptures.... Bloody awesome documentary! Glad I saved it for Boxing day viewing!
Not sure if that's sarcasm, but I'll just say there are a lot of guys out there with large guitar collections. Some we've never heard of, but most professional guitarists that made it big have an impressive collection. Joe Walsh, Rick Neilson, Neil Schon, etc...or on the other hand you've got a billionaire like Jim Irsay. He's got a lot of rare guitars, because he could outbid everyone in the room. I'd rather the wealthy musicians have them than the wealthy football team owner.
@@rcsutter Well, it was meant to be sarcastic. Kinda poking fun at people that take issue with his collection, the old trope about Joe knowing where Eric's guitar is etc alongside the fact that youtube comments are the craziest and yet somewhat quite entertaining places on the internet. I wouldn't call myself a "fanboy" and yet I do really like an awful lot of JB's music, I have a healthy respect for what he has achieved and I find him funny as F... so much so because of his levels of sarcasm. I would like to think that if he ever read it then he would get it. I have no malice toward him in any way, his humour appears to align somewhat with my own. I'm sure his response would be F... off, with a wry grin... anyhoo, he earned it, so good for him. hope that also aligns somewhat with your own thinking.
@@MrMinddoctor Yep that's what I thought, but sometimes it's hard to tell. It's crazy how people follow Joe all over youtube to talk shit about him. Yes we are on the same wavelength about this. Take care and have a great day!
@@rcsutter Thank you. I actually thought the bit about him owning souls and all the people in every country might hint toward my intent, however, you are right, it is really tricky to tell sometimes and there probably are numpties around that believe he keeps dead musicians souls in old peanut butter jars to which he taunts by playing their riffs backward then shakes the jar just to keep them in a state of unquiet. I don't believe that of course, he keeps them in old Diet Coke bottles... Have a prosperous new year and may all your dreams be realised, unless your dreams are to take his bottles of souls...

I am grateful for this sensitive documentary that brings us closer to Joe. And also the team and the band that accompany and support him in his development. Great! keep on 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you for sharing. Regards from England.
Most definitely a Guitar Man and one of the elites.
BTW the documentary was BUZZIN.
Live at the Greek,, is the greatest guitar performance by anyone, anytime, ever
I've been following Joe since the Bloodline days, and I've been to a whole bunch of his shows over the years. I was at the show in St. Charles Illinois back in the day, and I'm going to see him at the Chicago Theater in February. This was a very interesting and well done documentary. It really gives a great insight to his musical journey. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again. Thanks for all the great music Joe! 😁
Thank you, Joe, for the beauty you create.
Good to hear JOE has good management. So many shysters in the past that literally destroyed musicians and entire bands. e..g. Grandfunk Railroad, Badfinger and many others.
I had no idea his musicology had such depth.!! Wow !!.
Well! I can categorically say that I've never before watched a UA-cam video that's over an hour long! I came to this one with the intention of watching 10 or 20 minutes at most. But I started and stayed the duration. I was just drawn in by Joe's charm and passion. Thank you so much for posting
I'm with you on that. Usually have multiple tabs open and going back and forth. This one kept me on task the whole time
THE REAL STILL HERE ORIGINAL SOUTH BLUES HAVE TO BE BORN POOR MINORITY WITH IT ua-cam.com/video/5fl_cisqVcQ/v-deo.htmlsi=lPWKp7hpyyahK-tx
I participated in some of the jokes, early on. I apologize. Joe, you're the real deal. Keep it up. The jokes will stop when you don't.
Уникален Джо Бонамаса обичаме те цялото семейство!!!Позддрави от България!
Absolutely love the music at 1:05!
His backup singers!
Good to see the late great Michael Rhodes !!
lucky enough to see joe and micheal in royal albert hall before he passed, RIP micheal
I love this movie !
When joe playes , i hear all the influence of great guitar players .
Respect sir - you are the new generation of blues based music 🫡
I can’t wait for the Munich gig in April 2025 🎸 Super inspirational documentary.
The boy can sing also, often overlooked due to the guitar prodigy aspect, but credit to Joe, he is 'the news' and he has earned it.
Came for the documentary, saw the gig listing for Nottingham and booked it before watching through. Advertising obviously doesn't work and I look forward to the gig *very* much.
Joe a true master in my opinion Joe and Walter Trout are best blues Rock guitarists in the World today
Tell that to Steve Lukather!
@ThomasGilmore-fi6gb Hi Thomas yes I'll be honest I haven't listened to Steve Lukather much but having now listened to some of his tracks you can hear he is also a Master musician singer songwriter I can certainly relate to his music and his Audio visual concepts are incredible i love Rock Music and play guitar myself although my passion lies in writing Lyrics and Vocals We all have our Preferences I think Joe and Walter have their own sound and style of playing but when I gave them a mention I was strictly refering to the blues only and not in general terms of good American singer songwriter musicians I hope no offence was taken by my comment
King Regards Chris
Was great hearing Arielle singing The Guitar Man at the end.
A Great interesting documentary on joe what a nice humble guy and a great guitarist of blues rock❤🇬🇧
Born to be a Famous Artist ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 very talented man
Great musician
Goodonya Joe! I loved seeing and hearing your journey. It’s amazing in this industry you have remained ( relatively) normal. 😉 Thank you for the music, you have definitely been an inspiration to me and countless others. Keep on keepin on, brother! ❤️🙏🙌
Never enough Joe!!!
Thanks Joe Bonamassa one of the very BEST !!!🎵🎶🎸
Thanks for the awesome jamming of 👌😍✌️🌹✌️✌️🔥
My favorite is Joe's cover of Let Me Love You Baby - Rod Stewart - Jeff Beck cover -- sounds great - Super singing - super guitar licks -
Abbotsford Centre. Abbotsford BC. 7,000 seater. Love to see a co headline show. Joe Bonamassa/Samantha Fish with mega guests all day. It would sell out on day one. This neck of the woods not only loves the blues, but NEEDS a damn good blues show. Let's put it out there!!!
at this moment he is a N 1 on this planet.!! He is pure son of Mother Nature !!
Interesting thought. Very potato (that's a good thing)
I was such a honor to meet you and see you live in KC.
