Favorite trailer is Mark's, hands down. Kai's solo actually is called "Door", lol. He's the one with ballet training, so he was bound to be graceful. Taemin's fit him so well because he's both dream and nightmare. Ten was simply amazing.

Actually, Kai contemplated a lot if he should dance to hip hop (which he's doing recently), But he decided to this (Kai's specialty is jazz and ballet) since there'll be new fans who haven't seen him dance yet. New fans always expect Kai to go hard and sexy in his dances. This is Kai's identity as a dancer. He tells story through his dance. Every movement, lighting and even the outfit have meaning. He explained it through his ig live. Him and mihawk created this routine the same day it was filmed. He wanted the bg and lighting to be minimal so his body movement will be the focus. He wants his body to deliver the sound to the viewers that's why the music is minimal. Even the change in lighting and his outfit is part of the story. Kai just takes my breath away. I love seeing him dance so much.
Wow, I didn't know so much thought went into it. It's really beautiful. As someone who has watched him since his debut, I'm kind of proud of how much he has improved (not that he was bad back then), it's like the music is following his body and not the other way.
@@MindBlinged Mihawk the one who choreographed this with him is actually having a slump because he can't come up with choreos lately. They created this masterpiece under pressure since it will be filmed on the same day they were informed about it. In the beginning Kai's move is opening a door representing them wanting to overcome this slump and moveon with the past. Kai said he purposefully wore a jacket on the first part to represent stuffiness and his movements are restrained as well. His moves are representing that he wants to be freed but a lot of things are restraining him. In the red room, he took off his jacket representing that he's free from stuffiness and restraints and his movements are more free as well.

Actually Kai has the most artsy style out of the dancers imo. He’s had 2 decades of ballet and jazz training whereas taemin and ten are more into popping and street dancing styles. He usually does interpretative dances for his solo but he also branches out into other genres like his confession song. But I love them all!!

My favorite trailer was Mark but I did enjoy everyone’s visuals! This group is going to be crazy and I can’t wait for their debut!
Concept wise: I feel like SM is building on the “Green/Red-concept”
Green being “good”. Red being “bad”.
SuperM are like détectives/héros/balance-keepers but while doing so they discover they have good/bad inside themselves.
This is like a reflection of mental and physical struggles we encounter everyday.
Marc: Opens a box because he is curious=>becomes dark Marc. Raps about “looking at the real... mirror”. (A bad experience can happen anytime and make you feel dark inside but you portray yourself as happy person=>disconnect )
Taeyong: Red taeyong tries to shoot Green taeyong. And he just sits there and applauds. (We are self destructive sometimes and we applaud it)
Baekhyun: sits in dark box with a lot of small holes where the light comes from.
Lucas: Corporate gone Pimp. Hahahaha. (He feels watched so he needs to become someone else)
Kai: Happy crumping in favorite parking lot => destroyed because he left.

Everything can be interpreted differently for everyone of course. But I think the main thing they want to say is: struggle is real. Even if we try so hard to be good, there is a time/place where we can struggle to find the good in us but with the help of their music it is possible :D
Dude, Kai has studied all forms of dance. This piece is contemporary and definitely his style. His dances always tell a story. All three of these guys are amazing but very diverse.

Ten's sharp body movements spelling out T-E-N showcasing the duality to his usual elegance, Jongin powerfully channeling Kai through contemporary was artwork and of course, Taemin as the masterpiece he is with mesmerizing, sensual fluidity. that "dreams may come" keypoint, the FACE-OFFS♡ with both a dancer Taemin has inspired and his bestfriend! Baek still having his light powers, while Jongin still has his teleportation!!! i screamed 🔫💙💐💚✨ i hope to see continued support for SuperM. we all know SM can be shit from how they've treated their artists, but Taemin wouldn't attach himself to a group, unless he truly believed it could be musically productive and i believe he's at a point in his career where he had the option. i've trusted that alone, from jump. more than anything, mama Taeyong, Lucas, Mark, ALL of the members have worked SO hard between this debut and their own/group priorities and deserve all the love given! beyond stoked to see what they've created TOGETHER♡

Kai is actually the artsy one out of the bunch. He took ballet, jazz and contemporary dancing as a kid which is why his moves are always so sharp and precise 😊

21:18 glad you caught that. he actually explained it on ig live that it was him opening a door because his stage name (kai) in chinese means 'to open' and also symbolizes him opening a door to a new activity. he also mentioned that he was contemplating dancing to hiphop since he recently got into it (search for kai confession at exploration) or doing contemporary since there'll be people who haven't seen him dance to it even though he's known for it. the beat he chose is actually something his fans would expect from him because he was trained in ballet and jazz. he made contemporary performances popular in kpop along with the importance to facial expressions when dancing.
exo ls are upset because of how mistreated exo is; their schedules are mismanaged so they're practicing like crazy for this debut all in the middle of a tour and they're exhausted. this project is sm's desperate attempt to be at the front of the wave again when the opportunity was there years ago with exo but they neglected it. sm knows they can make mad cash from exo without putting effort into promoting them and that's exactly what they've been doing for years. baekhyun barely got to promote his very first solo album and kai is the only member in exo who does't have a song solely under his name and they could've been doing that instead. from an exo l's point of view it seems like a waste of time and it doesn't seem fair to exo considering the fact that they're keeping the lights on at sm making up a THIRD of sm's revenue. seriously no other group would be able to maintain their level of popularity with the way exo is being promoted.

With the dances between kai and taemin, taemin is the best at “popping” (body shaking really fast I guess) . Kai originally wanted to be a ballet dancer anyway before he debuted so I think each song suits the both of them.
Doja Kat taemin doesn’t do to much popping(although he is good at all forms of dance.) he’s more graceful and intricate.

Your right Bris, I HATED the idea as soon as they announced it, went off social media in a fury, just came back on twitter and feel more positive, I give everyone a chance, which has been my motto for everything for music and television, people....everything, and these trailers got me excited. I'm an Exol and love all kpop since getting into it in 2010, before Exo. And kpop just impressed me from so many group's beginnings, Exo, Bts, Monsta x, Shinee, Got 7, Tvxq, BigBang, Suju, and I love them all!
So we need to give SuperM a chance, show them support.
And yes Bris, Kai is an artsy dancer, since you've never really seen his dances and solos over the years, he's an elegant dancer, contemporary and ballet mixed in alot of his style, he has studied in jazz, ballet, contemporary, popping, hip hop since 9 years old and dance is his life. He graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul, and signed with SM at 13 years old.

Lol Bris, Kai started as a jazz and ballet dancer. Lyrical/contemporary is his IG genre whilst crumping is Taemins. They each went with their strengths. The fact that you think that Kais genre is hip hop is a testament to how good he is.
Also SM asked them to come up with routines, they all had individual choreographers and they planned the concept themselves. Kai’s concept is called door and he conceptualised it himself in a day and co choreographed and filmed that night in between tours. Put some respect on his name.

BAEKHYUN is my favorite in all of KPOP so yah he is my bias he has been my bias for years !!!!
in regards to the performance video, I personally suspect Kai was given the last music because it could have a choreography that allowed him to put his ballet training to use. I only did ballet for a short while (most of my dance training is Irish dance) but I recognize some ballet techniques in his dancing, which I personally love to see from him because he just does it so well. I think all three of them, Ten, Taemin and Kai, got to showcase their dance styles really well in the performance video. As for the other trailers, I gotta say my favorite is Ten's bc he's my ult, but Mork and Yongie are runner ups because MARK'S RAP WAS FIRE, ONE OF THE BEST THIS YEAR ON GOD and the aesthetic Taeyong's was very pleasing to me, so I liked his as well.
I can't wait!!! My bias is and always will be Taemin in this group... This is going to be aaamazinggg!!! Wish I lived in LA and was able to get tickets to their debut this Saturday but I guess I'll have to settle for the live stream instead... 😭 I feel this is the best thing SM could have ever done... Tbh. I was against this because:
1. NCT was just flying around the world back and forth to korea(while promoting super human and doing their neo city). Honestly I feel so sad seeing them tired at some fan cams. They haven’t really had rest since they debuted
2. Exo still has an ongoing tour and a pending come back so AGAIN HOW ABOUT KAI AND BAEK’S WELFARE?
IN SHORT SM IS OPENLY OVERWORKING THEIR IDOLS SO OF COURSE MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE AGAINST THIS.
But its really here, taemin and the members gave us reassurance. Given the effort SM is putting in this debut, a lot have turned their tables. All trailers are awesome. All we can really do it support them because this is gonna be epic. I really do support them, and hope this group does super well!

Taemin and Kai are actually technically the best dancers in Super M. It should be expected considering experience. But Ten is really refreshing to watch. Always nice to see amazing dancers in the younger generation of Kpop.

I'm actually not surprised about the beat they used for Kai. The first time we saw Kai was in a teaser sang by D.O, which had a more R&B and sexy beat to it I guess you could say. Plus, Kai shows more of his ballet (or contemporary?) dance background than the other two in my opinion.

Bris, you totally summed up my feelings on this! I'm super hype! Also, in regard to the superhero vibes, SM has mentioned that SuperM will collaborate with Marvel!! So you're definitely right that they were pulling ideas from and paying homage to Marvel movies!

I have been SO so excited ever since I saw this group was going to be a thing and I'm glad to see someone just as excited as I am! Thanks for all of your love, your positivity, and your amazing energy, Bris! It is SO hard to choose a bias from the trailers though, and I think I will wait for the first MV to debut to really see who shines in this group but.. to be honest, I think they are all gonna be so bright we are blinded by it in the end.
