You wanna know what's funny? When I was like 8 or 9 years old, I dubbed him the "Drama Doctor," based off how often he seemed to argue with the people he brought onto the show and made them cry. I hated watching him. My mom used to watch him sometimes. I wonder if she stopped watching him around that time. I don't really remember

What you're saying is pretty much true, although I think your phrasing runs the risk of making it out to be more intentionally nefarious than it is.
A large part of of his show is shaming and ridiculing the nuerodivergent and those whose behaviour is considered abnormal or undesirable. This is the result of making a spectacle of therapy & psychology in a society which doesn't understand and disapproves of difference.
However, as big Joel said, if there's one good thing he's done it has been to destigmatise/demystify mental illness to some extent. This doesn't make up for the bad he does, I only note it to show that his only concern is to make a spectacle of these issues, then morally the cards fall where they may.
The question of whether he's doing good or bad for these individuals or representation more widely is irrelevant, because the point of this show is purely to be a moneymaking spectacle. That's why there's some good, a lot of bad, a lot of whatever.
I'm not saying this in defense of Phil McGraw and his 21st Century freakshow. It's problematic enough that he insults theraputic practice by paying it lip service in the name of rank, profiteering spectacle.
It's inherently disrespectful to the pursuit and those who need it, and in a society with a healthy relationship to neurodivergence it just wouldn't happen.
He's a TV Presenter masquerading as a clinician to make money of feeding into the public'ss perception of what psychotherapy is, which involves pandering to all their moral and ideological biases.
I'm saying this because I think it's more effective to levy criticism at it for what it is.
Saying "the point is to shame" gives the idea that Phil wakes up tenting his fingers cackling to himself while he plots how he's gonna make the crazies suffer today.
I know this isn't what you mean, but it's very easily read this way, especially by those who aren't inclined to agree with you.
If you're seen to be demonising him personally as evil, it's easier for them to write you off, despite the fact that, put differently, your argument might penetrate.
Instead, I think it's better to say that Phil (and those like him) is just running a modern freakshow under the guise of therapy, that it's insulting to the craft and does no good for anyone aside from fattening his wallet. Reducing the idea of therapy to gawking and spectacle.
The length of my comment might make it seem that I disagree more substantively than I do (soz, I'm long winded) but I just wanted to point this out.

on the topic of autism, i feel the "just get a job and work or else you're a lazy parasite" is really harmful to people with autism or other disabilities that make it legitimately hard to work and hold down a job. this society really leaves people like us behind

I do have Bipolar disorder and he was describing my symptoms. If he can get on some decent medication and some therapy he could improve dramatically. Yelling at and shaming someone with bipolar disorder won't do anything.

True, but I've been diagnosed now for just over a decade and attitudes have actually changed for the better. Like I got a job that is willing to accommodate me and that in of itself has actually had a huge improvement in my stability. Weird how people acknowledging me as a human and understanding my limitations has improved my productivity...

What saddens me is that I'm seeing a lot of comments agreeing he seems to be bipolar, which means he doesn't have an obscure disorder at all. It should be fairly easy to get him diagnosed and with some decent medicine if the problem is so obvious, and yet... No one in his life can see that and push him in the right direction? Yelling is better? It's really sad to see how the ignorance of those around them can sabotage people even when a way to make their lives a bit easier DOES exist... I'm glad you are receiving the medication and support you need at least.
I grew up on Dr Phil. My mother loved him. He wrongly pathologizes his victims and encourages his audience to do the same and draw their own conclusions on how they would handle this situation. Usually these are stay at home or evening shift working parents. My mother would use his techniques against me, and hoo boy was it scarring. I still catch myself pathologizing people around me because of the residual bullshit from him.
its true, i have a very similar mother. she is a working woman who is gone most of the day and has for most of me and my siblings life. because of this comment i have realized he kinda has impacted her rhetoric towards me. My mom tries her damn hardest but i can tell she really doesnt understand a lot of my autistic tendencies. its very hurtful having this rhetoric used against you and my mom has said some things that are very Dr Philly and those are the words that cut very deep

Well, he's happy with his life now, but will he be happy with his life in the future when his source of income dies and he can no longer maintain his dog lifestyle? I think if Dr. Phil had framed getting a job as being a way to prepare for the future and continue being able to live your (dog) life in a comfortable manner (instead of just saying that not having a job is badwrongno), that would have been more persuasive to Boomer. Perhaps he did in the actual episode, I haven't seen it.

Uhh, Salvos is a huge conglomerate from Britain which has many international divisions. But, all of you can tell me that the American division is amongst both the worst and the most infamous worldwide. And I can tell all of you that the Kiwi and Aussie divisions, while still pretty bad, are not as ridiculous.
I view the Salvation Army about equally as I do organizations such as Hamas. Extremist religous organizations, with both horrible views on a number of things, while still being committed to provide for struggling people. They do, no joke, provide very real material relief to a lot of people. They do a lot of good, really.
But man, are they still horrible people.
I'm glad Boomer is happy, but it says a lot that Phil's more concerned about Boomer's virginity than that Boomer might have internalized dehumanization issues. Not saying He does, but it's weird that Phil doesn't even acknowledge a possible psychological trauma, and instead focuses on Boomer not having a job.
It's crazy his virginity is even an issue. He should get to the core of Boomer's inability to live on his own.

Phil is signalling to a conservative audience. Calling someone out for not having sex appeals much more to such an audience than to a mixed or non-conservative audience.
Wild to me. I'm asexual and was mostly gay when I was 18. My psychiatrist once held me on an hour phone call trying to convince me to go on a date with a girl I barely knew that lived 3 hours away. My problem wasn't her being a girl, it was that there was no justification for dating her.
These people can be so fucking weird with their similar mind fallacies. Be wary of people who tell you you're not what you think you are. They're projecting so hard.

it's the worst. every therapist i've talked to always says stuff like "so what do you think you could do to fix that?" or "i know it's hard but you just need to do it." and it's just like... i'm there because i need that person's help to do those things, so why are they asking me how to fix it? it can be so frustrating and demotivating
i know what you mean, i used to suffer from insomia and had a pretty bad time at school, so I decided to seek therapy and i was just told to try to calm down before sleeping
I straight up had a psychologist (who I was doing therapy with, I guess maybe CBT ostensibly?) who recommended a Dennis Prager book (to which I called Prager basically a white nationalist in his impact on the world) and then later when I was crying about my fear of death she said "You're gonna hate me for saying this, but I saw a study that said conservatives are happier overall than liberals." I did one more session out of pure curiosity but after that shit I knew she was useless to me so that was the end of it.

God I can’t stand this show. It only exists for the audience to laugh at mentally ill and troubled people to feel better about themselves without feeling like an asshole because it’s “therapy” for the people they laugh at, and even if there’s an episode where they shouldn’t laugh, they’re still handled badly and don’t give anything of value to the “patients” or the audience. It’s the definition of reality TV shows; empty, orchestrated and pointless.
Jerry Springer was another example. I never watched such shows.

It is basically exactly like those old "freak shows" you had at circus a long time ago. Just an excuse to laugh and make entertainment out of people who are either ill or different.
It's not even pointless. It's actively harmful for the people on the show, and the viewers who take Dr. Phil's ideology to heart
I never got into shows like Dr. Phil, and looking back at it, the premise seems to be in bad taste. Doing therapy sessions as entertainment rubs me the wrong way because people generally go to therapy because they have deep-seeded issues or have experienced serious trauma. To have people discussing these issues knowing that people are watching and are encouraged to laugh along is uncomfortable.
You know how HARD it is to get to a point like Brandon where you say “ok, and how do I do that?” when you’re confronted with shortcomings? He is ready to get help, he needs help, but is completely hitting a wall. I hope he is in a better place these days.
It really pissed me off that he was literally asking for help and he wasn't given a single good resource to get that help and was just given meaningless platitudes.
there’s not much that makes me as angry as that clip of him actively asking dr phil HOW to get better, and him just responding with “do it right now get better fix it” as if that’ll just… make it all okay?? i’ve been in that position before (although to a lesser degree) and it’s not fun to just have someone ignore you while bluntly telling you to just undo all your mental illness
It really hurt me personally as someone with the same sort of mental illness. The whiplash between hypomania and depression means I can't work full time. At least I can do part time and gig work etc. If he WANTS to work he needs to be helped in finding a position that could actually work with his psychological schedule. Or did they even discuss meds? Sleep meds have literally been the difference between totally crashing via sleep deprivation and passing as essentially neutotypical during many periods of my life.

There is a reason Dr Phil rarely does follow-up episodes. His sole goal, his grift, is to parade people in front of an audience to make the audience feel normal and then give feckless bootstraps-adjacent advice that actionably helps no one. That's why he doesn't do the follow-ups. Its not about helping anyone, its a modern day carnival show.
And the Dr. Phil family was a yearly trainwreck of immense proportions. It's been about seven years since he had them on. Look them up, and weep over the fact that at least four innocent children were born into that hellish kaleidoscope.

That kind of burnout is especially difficult for neurodivergent people to work through. In my opinion, that second guy was clearly neurodivergent and struggling with mental illness, but Dr. Phil has no solutions for that because conservative propaganda says that if you can't dedicate your life 24/7 to feeding into capitalists' pockets like "normal people," you're worthless and need to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps."
Okay, a bit of a vent here from trauma I've mostly healed from, but still have mental scars from: I was consistently verbally abused by my theatre director. She would blame other's mistakes on me, make my job as tech as difficult as possible, didn't recognize the fact that I had to get used to new cues and couldn't just immediately pick them up, and didn't respect the fact I had figured out a system that she refused to learn (and I learned it by myself). I just had to deal with that for months, and I got so burnt-out that I started hallucinating

Poor old Shelly Duvall, the woman who made both live action Popeye and the shining by Warner Bros world famous, she got abused by Dr Phil so badly.
As a survivor, it's a nightmare to watch. Also, he treats trauma as if it can be treated by just wanting to stop hurting and not functioning. Trauma causes addiction for example, and Phil treats people, as if it was as simple as "putting in the work". Push through, you know. Stop stuffing down your pain, stop being so sick that you can't work. It's the mental health equivalent of rich people saying "if you're homeless, just buy a house, why do you want to be poor, I don't get it"
I wish Joel had examined the episodes with the families of murder victims. They're really revealing of the character of Dr Phil, the lack of empathy he shows is insane.

It's a complicated subject, but willpower is in fact bullshit and discipline is far more effective, most people don't *WANT* to do tough things, they do them because of their self-discipline, they force their mind to do things that are uncomfortable, no one *WANTS* to diet, no one *WANTS* to go to the gym, no one *WANTS* to study, they do this things out of discipline, not willpower and it's incredibly important to distinguish the two because a lot of people are convinced it's this mystical "willpower" and are sitting down waiting for inspiration to take over them when in reality that's not how it works at all
And sure some people have imbalances, but the vast majority do not and just self-diagnose because they're lazy and want an excuse to feel good about their laziness, if you ever worked in mental health you know the sheer amount of junkies and people looking for validation and excuses far far exceeds the numbers of people with actual physiological problems, in many cases they consume too much porn and their brains are addicted to dopamine so that's all they can think about for instance, but that is not the same as a depression, it's an entirely manmade chemical imbalance that can be somewhat reversed but only through discipline.

@@liquidsnake6879 It doesn't sound like you're talking about willpower, but rather about "feeling like" doing something, and you're not wrong at all. It's very similar to advice you hear a lot in the art world, which is to not wait around for inspiration to strike. "Inspiration" is fickle and inconsistent, so basing your work ethic off "inspiration" is not going to be the most effective method.
Similarly, as you grow up you start to realize that just because you don't "feel like" doing the dishes doesn't mean they don't need to get done, but the term "willpower" is literally what describes going against things you might not want to do. I think we all agree with each other, it's just that "willpower" was a weird word for Mr. Dr. Phil to use in that context.

Dr. Phil’s whole thing is “tough love” and giving people “reality checks”, he’s not interested in addressing actual mental health problems
Why would anyone with ACTUAL mental health issues go to a television show for ACTUAL help?

@@refundreplay also, all healthcare is such a fucking joke in this country (especially mental health) that somebody might think it's their only chance to get help or at least be heard. And loosely in the popular culture, Dr Phil does have a certain reputation of being helpful to people. (Incorrectly so, obviously.)
People who base large parts of their personality around being "brutally honest" tend to enjoy the brutality more than they care about the honesty.

So many things in life can be difficult to keep or take care of with certain mental illnesses, and many times people simply shame and guilt the person for something they cannot control. I lost count of the times I've being called names and shamed for my "laziness" for something I later discovered to be undiagnosed ADHD and PTSD. It makes me genuinely angry to see someone supposed to be a "professional" kick a person when they are already down and in evident need of help, for some cheap cheers.

Diamond's brother's whole "I'm not transphobic, but" routine is just so exhausting. But the fact Dr Phil didn't once challenge him speaks volumes. Maybe twenty or thirty years ago we could choose to define transphobia as only the more extreme actions, when this show was filmed people would see right through that guy's transphobia.
In the UK recently a young trans girl teenager was violently attacked and killed. A newspaper dead named her, and other newspapers actively refused to mention anywhere in their coverage that she was trans. They referred to her as she, they used her correct name, but did not mention that she was trans under the facade that it "wasn't relevent". Which is absurd, because even if the attack was not motivated by her being trans, it is still a detail, as much as her name, where the attack happened, the time it happened. Regardless of whether or not transphobia played a part in the attack, it was so transparently playing a part in the subsequent coverage.
It literally is just "i'm not transphobic, BUT," i couldn't have put it into better words myself. Also I'm pretty sure it was revealed the attackers were all minors around 13-16, that is if we're talking about the same poor girl. Unfortunately I and probably many others only know her from the disgusting Twomad post.

It really feels like we're heading towards a future where countries us in the West might have once referred to as 'less developed' or 'culturally outdated' will respect trans people more than we do and ironically being more pious is probably the reason why.
I remember the moment in my childhood where I lost all respect for Dr. Phil (something I had since my parents were religious Phil watchers each day). That moment was when Phil berated a college aged woman for watching cartoons and sleeping with a childhood blanket... that's when I was like, what's wrong with that? She's happy and not hurting anyone, why should she change if she's happy with her life?
That's when I realized that Phil was no different than Jerry Springer or Steve Wilkos, he was actually much worse. At least Jerry and Steve know what they are, Phil puts on a show to deceive people that he's more knowledgeable and respectable than all other hosts. That he has a medically back perspective... when in reality it's nothing but hollow advice for people that he wants to parade on stage for views.
I've never watched the show but from this video and this comment he does seem to just be saying, "This person is WEIRD. There MUST be something wrong with them. I'm a doctor." as the premise for every episode.

His show from what I have seen feels a good deal like Harry Springer without the fights. It has that same thing were the viewer gets look down at the guests, to know they are no matter what are better than them.
“Dr” Phil doesn’t help anyone. He exploits them on television for personal gain. No reputable therapist would expose their patients medical issues with the public.
Anyone who actually watches this show (and doesn't judge one or two episodes on the most superficial aspects and make multiple opinion videos about it) recognizes that the patient doesn't run the session. Bailey tried to run the session from the first thing she said in the show. Dr. Phil doesn't meet the guests before the show. Guests only deal with producers before they come for the taping (another thing you'd have to watch the show to know).
This is really pathetic. You're putting expectation A on a show that does B. Usually, critics expect Dr. Phil to fix the problem, and then criticizes him for not fucking fixing the problem. The show -- again -- if you watched it, spends an hour letting the guests bicker with the host guiding the conversation, as a therapist does, and then at the end Dr. Phil *identifies* the problem, and provides his bag of variously medical partners who no doubt pay him like Oprah. See, Dr. Phil is making money all over the place. He has no reason to make a show to abuse people.

What I wonder is why didn't Dr. Phil's telehealth company evaluate and diagnose him for free before he came on the show? As far as I know, Dr. Phil let his license to practice expire and is now a Dr. only by virtue of his degree. What meaningful advice does he expect to give people if part of their success requires a diagnosis and treatment plan they don't have, may not know they need, and that he's not licensed to provide? Having on guests in need of a conflict mediator or life coach makes sense, but not sure what point there is in dispensing generic "tough love, common sense" advice to guests who have an unaddressed illness or disorder.

As a person with diagnosed bipolar disorder, hearing Brandon's story and Dr. Phil's treatment of it was extremely sad. How can someone who claims to be a people "expert" be so tone deaf? Chemical issues require chemical solutions when it comes to mental illness. Grandstanding from an ableist "bootstrap" perspective doesn't help, and it's harmful to society as a whole.

Neuropsychologist student here. The chemical theory of mental illness is actually kinda been disproven. Rather recent research, as well as my experience providing support adjacent disorders, is that it’s a form of hypercomplex disassociation.

no, it is that simple at all. while being _that_ fat is probably a sign of legit physical or mental issues (which means willpower isn't a factor, bud), even basic obesity is is so rampant in our country for a reason. unhealthy work life encourages an unhealthy lifestyle, cheap food being unhealthy exacerbates that for most, social shame prevents some people from going out to something like a gym or pool for exercise, we aren't taught any real health information in school (and what little we were taught was just placebo at best), and general small shit (like our city layouts discouraging walking) adds up to make it a worse issue.

I feel like Phil's response to Boomer is motivated by a kind of bitterness or resentment. When confronted with this person who is just absolutely satisfied living a simple, humble, inconsequential life, it makes all the struggles and trials we go through trying to force ourselves to meet society's expectations seem all the more meaningless. Things such as pride or shame aren't even burdens in Boomer's life, whereas Phil's life practically revolves around the two. Whenever someone can be seen somehow avoiding the ills of the system we were all born into, those who have worked hard or struggled within that system sometimes just want to drag that person into the same suffering they've had to endure.
I think you’re right. I also think Phil probably sees himself as a success story of that system (and realistically one of few). His life is meant to be great because he’s won. And for Boomer to be happy outside of that it makes Phil seem a bit less special. Like Phil met someone to whom being ‘Dr. Phil’ does not matter.

Look at all the harmful behaviors encouraged and required by the average workplace. Look at all the harmful behaviors imposed by so many religions. If you believe we should not accept behaviors that cause harm for the sake of happiness, then you should consider speaking out about the current status quo in the US.
On that point, Boomer wasn't exhibiting any harmful behaviors, so your argument doesn't apply to him. If you're put off by eating dog food, that's just you, there's nothing dangerous about it, it's nutritious, and some people even actually like the taste. However, if you still strongly feel that people shouldn't eat dog food, maybe try to do something about the situation where poor elderly people in the US have to resort to eating dog food just so they can continue to afford their medication.

@@b23beatz But if some of the participants are mentally ill (which might be the case) it means that they might not be thinking rationally, or at the very least the participants may not be in control of their faculties. It's also very possible that friends and/or family of these people may have pressured them to go on the Dr. Phil show in a misguided effort to "solve" their problems.
There's been news of exploiting the mentally vulnerable for a little while now from other shows similar to Dr. Phil (such as the Murray show & Jeremy Kyle show) so honestly, it would not be at all surprising if that was also the case here.
Dr Phil has WAY too much fun ridiculing people he openly doesn't understand (asexuals, transgender people, furries, etc) and that's obvious in how he makes them seem 'crazy' to get the audience on his side
@Forple Dorple it's oddly enough, a double edged sword. On one hand, it's broadcasting niche sub groups of people and personalities, giving a voice and a face to something thought non-existent. I'd actually love to know how many furries watches his show and finally found someone that could relate to them.
The other edge of the sword is that he brought attention to these people by belittling and making fun of them. Which further alienates those sub groups of people from society
Only a couple minutes into the video, and that was my first thought. Here's Boomer the Dog, and one of the major hang ups for Phil is that this person hasn't been on a date and hasn't had sex. That's not a pathology my dude.

Brandon is almost textbook bipolar - alternating periods of deep depression with periods of decreased sleep, expansive/grandiose ideas, elevated mood. Get the guy a mood stabilizer already, goddamn.
one thing I notice is that Boomer ultimately gets left alone by Dr Phil whereas the other guests are pushed into submission. Maybe this is because there are no toxic family members present with Boomer for Dr Phil to form a bandwagon with and bully Boomer into changing, so him and Phil are on a more equal playing field. The other guests have hateful, misunderstanding family members and Phil drilling into them from every angle. The show has a very confessional, interventionist vibe and I wonder if that doesn't ultimately come from some weird old American tradition that relates to exorcism or conversion therapy.

Dr. Phil this year has really started to turn me off. I'm starting to notice it more overtly that the more political his show became, the more you can tell the tone of the show is pretty boomer-conservative, reactionary. Too much for my taste. Everytime he seems to bring it into his show, now he always seems to get like 1 or 2 Gen Z people, and like 3 older Conservatives to shame them on the reactionary topic they have. Then he has an "expert" who is just a "back in my day, we were fine with being shitty people" type arguments. In general that seems to be the show's tone. For just older people who they hate younger people for doing things they didnt do back in their day. Like when he said confidently that queer kids in his day would get beat up.
He still thinks that younger people are "getting soft" and "sensitive" and "easily offended" and the conservative people he brings on just love to hear that, and they chomp at it to preach nonsense. Like they ironically don't even take mental health seriously. They have topics like "are kids these days really anxious or just spoiled" or "Schools are bad today, is it because of the lack of capital punishment" type stuff.

Boomer reminds me of the famous Ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes Kynos, who lived in a barrel outside the city gates. He was weird as hell, but completely OK with himself. So OK with himself, he won the admiration of Alexander The Great, ruler of the world.

This was a long time ago and my memory may be blurry but I remember a young bisexual woman was on the show because she kept clashing with her family. When they got on there the father made it clear that his daughters bisexuality was something “sick” and just another way to have sex with more people. Her siblings sided with him saying it was his opinion and that the daughter had no right to lash out at him for it and Dr Phil stayed silent. At no point did he correct what it means to be bisexual or that the fathers thoughts towards bisexuality was incorrect. He sided with the family because he saw HER behavior as the problem and wouldn’t even try to look at her side. It just shows just ignorant he can be to family abuse and how they’ll sometimes single out one person to terrorize
And identifying when someone is being scapegoated in a family is like one of the first things therapists do when looking at family dynamics! This example is just so upsetting because he reinforces those patterns of dysfunction and abuse.

I can understand clinging on to the concept of having a brother, feeling as if any change will rewrite all their memories with their sibling. As someone who has both had to lose weight and has tried desperately to help others lose weight, it’s never as simple as “stop eating and exercise”. Once someone is that overweight they aren’t using food for sustenance but usually as a sort of coping mechanism. You have to also work on what causes them to eat. Let me explain using my experience.
I’m naturally a large person. By that I mean I’m 6’5 and used to be very muscular. I was a year round athlete up until the end of my Junior year of high school. 3 things happened in my Junior year. 1. I had an injury that resulted in me needing extensive knee surgery. I was unable to move without crutches or a wheelchair for 8 months 2. I was outed in an extraordinarily homophobic area and 3. My partner at the time attempted to take their own life and was admitted into a mental hospital. A year later, they were released, attempted again, and passed. These problems all started within the same month.
Now obviously there was a problem of my body being used to eating an extraordinarily high amount of calories due to how active I was and then still expecting that when I was sedentary. But I didn’t stop gaining weight after I recovered. At my heaviest, I hit 330 pounds, this was in my sophomore year of college iirc. I knew there was a severe problem about a year before that point and what I was supposed to do, but I was unable to do so. I barely had the energy to go to work and classes. The problem had entangled itself in the other issues that started at the same time and new things had compounded in the original issues. Ultimately, what I had to do was come to terms with being openly queer, properly grieve my late partner, and then lose the weight. I wish I would have realized it sooner and prioritized accordingly. If I had, I would’ve gained less weight and would have been much happier much sooner.
Happy ending cuz I know that was a rollercoaster. I’m queer as a 3 dollar bill, have accepted my partners death in a relatively happy way (enough to see other people and sleep at night at least, it’s a work in progress) and I’m doing what I love again in sports and exercising. I’m not quite to my weight goal but I’m doing really well and have lost enough that I’m healthy again and happy with where I’m at. It was tough, but by looking at the bigger picture and working on myself as a whole rather than nitpicking my problems I’m in a much better place.
I'm now 235 lbs and my mom still body shames me even though I've lost 25 lbs this year. It's never enough or good enough

It's basically a freak show. Having any sort of humanising message about the "freaks" featured, undermines the point of the show in the unconscious mind of the audience. The audience's prejudice is the target market, so if the "freak" is humanised / their issues actually understood as universal, that runs the risk of making the sanctimonious audience see a part of themselves in the "freak", which causes discomfort, which leads to a drop off in viewership. The last thing the Dr Phil audience wants to see, is a mirror.
It's the same with other shows like Jerry Springer where people aren't tuning in for human interest stories, they're tuning in to watch a train wreck and feel superior to the "freaks." This is why I absolutely despise these kinds of shows, it's like a zoo watching a zoo.

I love Boomer, they're really just living their own life and being happy. Personally, I am autistic, so I have had the experience of not feeling entirely human, and it's a very comforting thing to be close to animals and to occasionally "let go" by allowing myself to not mask my behavior. It's a very admirable thing to be able to be so unashamedly yourself.
