This used to come on TV so rarely, but every time it did, my eyes were glued to the screen. This was my introduction to Droopy, and I’ve since gone on to watch every short starting him that was ever made. Thanks, Boomerang.
The wolf sounds like either Jim Cummings or Will Ryan. That's probably Jeff Bergman as Droopy. Also, notice the airport is named "Avery International Airport", obviously named for Tex Avery the creator of Droopy.
Yeah, because this references the classic cartoon "Northwest Hound Police" where the Wolf is trying to get away from Droopy and that red head girl at work which shares a similarity to the titular character "Red Hot Riding Hood".
I miss this old boomerang shows. They didnt used to show this show a lot of times. It used to be once a week. When they passed this cartoon Ive been waiting so long until they passed it again. And i forgot the name of the show. Until i finally found it.

I would never even think of saying such a thing to anyone anywhere, but I have to admit, "get a real job" was a pretty funny line. Maybe because of the shock value.
The same year Droopy made his debut in "Dumb-Hounded" (1943), Tex Avery also made "Red Hot Riding Hood" for MGM, featuring that sexy showgirl who has become known among animation fans as Red. While Droopy was pretty successful, Red became an overnight sensation, especially among American GIs duing WW2. Her debut cartoon was the most sought after by theatre owners (these cartoons were shown as filler material before the main feature), resulting in a couple more sequels such as "The Shooting of Dan McGoo" and "Wild And Woolfy" (both 1945, co-starring Droopy and the Wolf), Swing Shift Cinderella (also 1945), and Little Rural Riding Hood (1949). Also, as these cartoons served as filler material as mentioned above, they weren't necessarily targeted towards children.

Those were happier days as gimli from ralph bashki lord of the rings would say.
This short proves why it was worth staying for the commercials on old boomerang
This dude used his tongue as stairs LOL
Which was hilarious
Truly goes with the spirit of Tex Avery.
Why did his tongue have so many hairs and bandages on it 😳

Nice to find you here. This is an excellent "groovie" but JATPC Music Evolution is still my favorite.
Just realized that he NEVER gets to take a sip of his latte until near the very end and he doesn't even get to SWALLOW it.

I'm always amazed of cartoon characters can do everything they want in 10 minutes or less that a human being could do in 24 hours to a week.
That’s the idea of how they worked

I was first introduced to droopy from my dad and when boomerang first aired mgm shorts
“You know what..He’s forgot his latte 😂😂”
“Tip? Here’s a tip: get a real job” is so devious for no reason 😂😂

I love the stylization on this short.
So glad I first saw this after taping Scooby Doo on Zombie Island back when Cartoon Network was quality.
Dude should've just gave him the tip in the beginning then he wouldn't be going through this mess.

Animation is INSANE! I'm sure this must be relatable to a lot of minimum wage workers.
Every time a customer doesn't tip me, I always hope that Droopy will appear in their life shaking his jar until they tip their next delivery driver.

Man. Droopy has aged in this cartoon. I mean, he doesn't have his hair anymore.
I love Droopy's shaved head. I haven't a clue if that's job hygine or just his character being updated or what.
I think it was his character being updated, since they also updated that redheaded showgirl to be an office worker and the wolf to be a businessman.

This did a surprisingly good job of modernizing the original Droopy formula. The voice of the Wolf does a pretty uncanny Frank Graham impression, too.
Droopy: “You know what? He forgot his latte.”
Poor guy only got two sips of his latte before being driven to insanity, just because he refused to tip someone…
It's been so long since I've seen this, it's surreal seeing it in such high quality.
Droopy is going to follow him again just to give him the latte he forgot.
