Same case for RAZR, which has to be underpowered so as not to drive the price even higher.

It doesn't have any competition at all, really. Unless you count the Hwawei and Samsung foldable, which are both more expensive. This is a decent price for a first generation product. Long term, it definitely would need to come down some, though. I just hope the specs improve accordingly.
Depens, if enough people are going to buy it. Its been a trend for manufacturing companies not selling cool stuff because nobody wanted it. For example, because it was to expensive in the beginning. And somehow these companies thought nobody would want it.. Or it was because they couldn't manufacture it for a lower price. I think the razr is a good idea and probably will catch on. But knowing there will be foldable devices from Samsung or xiaumi I don't know if it will be enough, to get the manufacturer going. Its a good niche though.

However, this appears to be the first viable bendable screen phone with good build quality. The screen tech and hinge design are revolutionary. That means allot of R&D costs and expense. Nothing new here. Early adopters will pay to be first to have something different. All revolutionary devices will enjoy a period of higher margins. Nothing new. And why everyone is trying to make one. Looks like Motorola will be the first with something durable enough for daily usage. Samsung's fold will flop. They need a complete redesign. I believe Apple is trying to make one and if not they will be soon. Apple is no longer an innovator of anything. Mostly they sell their cheapest XR phone to those that can't see life outside of iOS but are sick of paying 1K for a phone.

A great thing about this is how portable it is sometimes I have the problem of my phone not fitting on my pocket and hence falling off and I tend to have a lot of things in my pocket
I love Motorola phones I'm using one right now would love to trade it for the Motorola Razr phone
