This is absolutely horrible. As if the world isn't struggling enough rn. Please let this pass. I worry about the dogs in shelters.
I went Wednesday and picked up a dog from shelter. I have him away from my other dogs. They are a high kill shelter 500 to 600 dogs a month. Now they have coughing dogs in dog pound! It just breaks my heart. The 4 year old boy I came home with is not coughing. Still quarantine on another side of my home. (Inside) Tell I can get him in for a vet check up and the 10 days are over. New Mexico USA. High risk, yes I know. But if I can save one. ❤ so many dogs in doggie jail. 😢
😢👏🏽💔👏🏽
@@brainchatter2078 It's spelled "quarantine," and yes, to be safe, I'd keep him away from other dogs for a while. They don't even know yet what's causing this illness.

@@SniffHeinkel thank you. My brain just is not right at times. My spell checker is now broke on my phone. Or just gave up on my spelling. LoL.
This is hard to watch. Keep your pups safe. ❤
We lost our 11 year old Lhassa in July to this. It started with cough and progressed to eye and nose discharge on and off, we tried different meds just for it to come back again weeks later. He began showing signs of gastro intestinal bleeding and incontinence in addition to respiratory at the end, not eating or walking. We had to let him be at peace... and never got ahead of it or ever figured it out. There was a deadly dog flu outbreak aroun 2002 I believe and lost a Rhodesian Ridgeback to it then after 7000 ER bill she passed away. Gotta figure this out guys...
I'm so sorry for your losses. ❤
I'm sorry for your loss of your love one.

Words of wisdom!!! keep your dog away from the vets office unless he's already sick.
Dogs have to have a yearly check up so easier said than done .
I was wondering about that. I might go and cancel my dog's non urgent appointment.
Agree. If you go, keep him away from other dogs and if you can, wait in the car until they call you, it is much better.
Very true no groomer or dog parks
Extremely good advice! Keep your pets away from veterinarians period! All they want is your money! They are of the world order! It wasn’t that long ago a Man could afford to take their animals to the vet! Now they are a bunch of money lovers over the care of our pets! Don’t believe me if you want. I’m a farm boy and I vaccinate my own animals! Veterinarians on the most part only want money and are quick to put your pet down if they don’t know what it is that ills them. Oh I know u tube will probably take my post down because they live by the same belief. One word of free speech as they don’t admit to call it they will remove you. Have my word this is all spoken of in the Holy Scriptures. I know most haven’t read so your laugh at me but there will come a day you won’t laugh!
Not the dog-rona 😭. Please watch over your dogs and take care of your furry friends.
Lmao dog Rona 😂 cmon now.
MRNA in pet food. Make your own! Klaus Schwab said no pets in the new world (WEF book). That’s fact! So Sons dog died after Ohio derailment. Nice of them to poison the entire eastern continent 🤬
I know I'm probably not allowed to say this , but you ever think it could be in the needles .

My dog got it and I have no idea how. She does not leave this property so this disease isn’t exclusively spread contact to contact, it has to be airborne or something too.
Maybe people can track it back home on the bottom of their shoes...(?) I leave my shoes just inside the front door. I hope your dog will be OK.
What about possibly their dog food or flea and heartworm pills?
Humans could be asymptomatic carriers and spread it to their pets

It never hurts to reach out to your vet for advice, too. They may have more information to share verses what you are finding on social media. I reached out to mine and they were able to give me more details of what they know along with the amount of cases in our area.
Our Vets are useless and feckless around here. GET a second opinion, and maybe even a third.

My dog has it right now. :( She's had it for 4 days so far. I don't know why they are saying to go to the vet, but then say they don't know how to treat it. Literally thats what they say. We aren't sure how to treat it, but get them in sooner so treatment can begin and be more helpful. Mk.

I just took my fur child to the vet yesterday for her annual check up and vaccines and when I went into the room, I noticed the table where you place your pets was dirty as if something had spilled on it, so I sprayed it down and also put my own sanitizer on it (I carry sanitizer due to covid issues of my own) and wiped up the table, but so many people don’t realize there are sicknesses at these clinics also and since they don’t know how they get it, it’s very worrisome! I hope your Fur Baby gets better soon, I would definitely try pedialite and other things at home, I mean what else can we do in these cases, good luck, I pray your baby gets better quickly 🙏🏻♥️
Why isnt anyone stating the obvious????? Check the pet food!!!! Something insidious is going on here.
You may be right. Last year they put something in the chicken feed to make them sterile and all over the country chickens stopped laying!!!
I agree 100%. Something insidious is going on. Sounds way too familiar!
My 4y old shiba inu started showing symptoms of dry cough, sneezing and snoring about two weeks ago. Vet gave her antibiotics and cough medicine and after 10 days she stopped coughing while laying down but as soon as she starts running or barking, she would start coughing again.
Since our other dog (3y old american akita) has chronic bronchitis since he was a puppy and he is taking temaril-p every day, doctor told us to put her on that medicine for 8 days.
Honestly, we still have about 3 or 4 days left, but nothing changed drastically, she is still coughing.
She have good appetite and she is playful, but we are really concerned that something more serious is going on.

This is 100% pet owners fault, how society thinks of pets, and the typical way of thinking of pets being inside our homes.
Now they are after our pets 🤬😭
You all were dumb enough to inject your dogs woith pharmas. You did it.
For those with cats who suspect their cats might have this, cats don't cough. If your cat is coughing, GET TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY! The coughing can be any of a number of serious conditions including asthma, this illness, and others!

Quercetin is a great antioxidant for dogs. It has antiviral properties. Also green tea and a little honey will help big time for their cough too.

Scary. I give my 2 dogs IP6 which I take myself is natural and pumps your immune system, been doing it for many years. I presently have a 16 year old medium size dog (very old). I’ve never been a fan of dog parks that’s why I always have 2 dogs, to play and keep each other company, I take them camping or hiking instead. Hope something is found about this disease soon.
Have these dogs been to a vet lately and gotten shots? I had a friend who’s dog wasn’t sick until she got a rabies shot.
Now they’re targeting dogs😢
Agreed!
COVID transfer to dogs if Deer had it

My dog figgy gagged a week ago but he got better. I guess I fed him some spicy steak and sausage. But I hope all the dogs get better . And figgy my dog I hope he stays healthy to .
It is so wide spread, could it be caused by something in a multi-national food?
Don't panic but panic, as always, great reporting.
Hahahahaaa
When ur pets are outsode please dont let them drink from pudfkes or water on pavemenr
Has any vet lab isolated the virus? This would be important if actually viral.
Not a single word will be mentioned if this is tied to toxic chemicals in recycled city tap water, toxic metals in nano form, and/or being excited by wireless communications.
This is another reason to never frequent dog parks or let your dog drink out of that water bowl in front of your favorite coffee shop or retailer. I don’t know much about it so I don’t know how it’s actually transferred from one Animal to the next, but I’m taking all the precautions I can think of to help protect my wonderful standard poodle.
I gave Snuff my doberchi a capful of apple cider vinegar in his water bowl..gave him bland chicken breast with bland with pinch of turmeric (first 24 -48hrs he ate nothing) prayed he was up running roun day four like he never almost died for only God knows y.. he was spitting up phlegm , loose stools, all those symptoms except cough I was horrified
Vitamin D works on humans and I am thinking dogs, too. Vitamin D is actually a hormone that has a lot of immune system function. Quality fish oil is helpful and dog friendly. There are some herbs that would probably help, but Vitamin D is a goto. Make sure your pets are getting their minerals as well as quality food.
You're so right. My dog gets a multivitamin and fish oil. He also gets fresh food. This is so scary.
Just be cautious on dose since it’s fat soluble and can build up and become toxic.
@@kmsch986 Show us evidence that Vitamin D3 will or has built up in anyone's body to become toxic?

My dog was misdiagnosed with kennel cough he had a cough for 2 weeks before I took him in put him on antibiotics it helped but he wasn't getting better took him back they took xray they said blastomycosis or lung canc3r got the test done he passed away 2 days later. Test was neg horrible case of Pneumonia
My dog recently experienced this after coming home from boarding. My vet prescribed Hydrocodone of all things and it cleared him up within a couple days. I feel very fortunate that this illness didn't escalate
Pneumonia. I first heard of it in Oregon. It is very contagious, and very deadly. Lee Asher, of Asher House first to,d us about it.
My dog was fine. He's an old dashhound. In Sept I took him to vet cuz he was drinking more water. He had a urinary tract infection from going in the ducks pool looking for frogs to catch. Got antibiotics and was ok at check up. But a month later started coughing. Never did before. Took him to different vet closer to home. Did x-ray. Said he has trachea Collapse. No other symptoms. Giving meds, but not helping much. Meds cost $166 a month supply!! I just wonder if he caught something at the first vet?
I would also warn the vet office , you don’t want to spread it in the clinic either. Hope the vet clinic are setting up isolation areas. I’m not taking my dogs to the groomer , doggie park and even hold off any scheduled vaccinations for the time being. The shelters are endangered areas, I don’t want think about it because the more reason for them to euthanize the dogs to stop it from spreading.
The other rescue groups must be vigilant.
moquillo; ck for first symptoms as dry nose, quarantine all affected dogs, and also human owners avoid cross contacts between infected dogs, keep them healthy so the immunologic system will work for them
You didn't even tell us which states it has been seen in!
"Nationwide" apparently, although the description says "4 states" but they only mentioned North Carolina and New Hampshire in the video
I heard California as well. You can look it up as they have a map of affected states
West Coast, Midwest, Georgia/Florida. Just consider it nationwide after Thanksgiving travel.
I live in Georgia and I talked to two different Vets that didn't even know about it, so they say. I'm supposed to board my four dogs at Christmas, but I'm terrified to do so.@@jeanvignes
This is horrible. It's probably another one of those 'Made in China'.
What toys are they playing with, what beds are they using, food? Anything that all of them could have come in contact with.

Being stuck at the home with dust and without air circulation is bound to cause something in both humans and animals.

Sounds like the same thing as you know what we just went through, my question is why didn't they test or talk about it. Makes a person with logical thinking say huhm🤔
poor things 😢
I'm in europe but I'm definitely asking my vet about this. I always add some immunity boosters to my dog's food every winter just like I do for myself. I keep her warm, I add some salmon oil to her food cranberries, blueberries, greek yogurt etc. I truly pray this will help protect her a bit from whatever this mysterious disease is ❤✝️🙏
For anyone interested, I also, from time to time, make "dog tea" for her. There are special "dog specific teas" out there but i usually make a makeshift one at home. I just boil some water and then dilute some honey in it and let her drink it once the water is at a reasonable temperature. This helps a lot with her respiratory system I think because almost 10 minutes later she'll "vomit" phlegm. Nothing else, no food, no stomach acid, nothing. Just phlegm so I think that helps her a bit too. I don't overdo it though. She'll have this "tea" a few times throughr the winter months. Phlegm should get out but some mucus is good for them. It helps protect them. So while we do want the phlegm out, we should be careful not to over do it and cause unintended problems. Also, honey is good for them in moderation but excessive amounts are not healthy for them. I haven't had a problem with this so far, thankfully! And I've been doing it for years! My vet even called it a brilliant idea when I asked him about whether my thinking is right and whether it's safe for me to be doing this every winter.
Smart, thanks for sharing. What ratio of honey to water do you use?
@samanthaswade7053 I have no idea how big your dog is, what age, special dietary needs, allergies, etc. So please take this with a grain of salt. And consult your vet to be 100% sure.
My dog is pretty big. She is 25kgs, so she can comfortably eat 1 teaspoon of honey without issue. I usually dilute that in 400-500ml of water and let her drink it. You should definitely take into account everything I mentioned in the beginning of my comment before giving it to your dog and also, if this is the first time ever he/she is eating honey then start with an even smaller amount of honey than the recommended dosage for your dog's age, size and needs. And then slowly work your way up the recommended amount.
Another video (sorry don't remember which) said someone recommended to them a human pink eye antibiotic - chloramphenicol. Owner tried it and said dog recovered.
I read about that.

I'd say it's the food and where it comes from. I could be wrong. Breath also doesn't stink like a garbage can. Probiotics work y'all jus kinda expensive. ❤ your pups n they will love you ten fold back. Cheers n good day to all
I'd say you're onto something, because other owners complained they never bring their pets to dog parks, and their pups got sick anyway.
It's a kind of dog pestilence that also happens here in the Philippines it spares no dog within a certain area where it occurs healthy vaccinated or not
Poor babies
Thankfully, my dog hasn't caught whatever this is.
And if you are wondering if this disease can be given to cats, hell yes, all my three cats contracted the mysterious illness! I have eleven dogs and three cats, nine out of eleven dogs and all my cats came down with this. The only reason two of my dogs have not come down with it is because they are high strong, all my animals I rescued, and are in another room and when they play, they only play together, for now. So, for anyone to EVEN ask is it okay to board your animals, OMG, be smart about this!
