Thank you, I have had Roach over 2lbs on 12mm boilies and heli rigs although I prefer fishing the float for them but sometimes you have to adjust tactics to suit waters. The rivers are struggling for sure sadly. I hope you find those magic 2 pounders soon on your local park 👍🎣

@@allanbeasley4565 Certainly a day I will never forget Alan. Such a shame the lake has been closed for almost four seasons, must be a few Roach of 3lbs plus in the lakes. 👍

@fishingtailfilms I still dream of such mythical creatures. I'm yet to have a 2lb plus Roach. Best is around the 1lb mark at the moment.

@fishingvanlife It will happen Chris, just need to get on venues that hold them is half the battle. I have been lucky enough to have a few more 2lbs + roach since but that 2lbs 10oz 4dr is still my PB. However I dream of a 3lbs + 🐟

My local rivers are in flood again ☹️ so the lakes it will be for a while now and once we get some constant temperatures the fishing will improve 🤞Good luck on your session 👍🎣

@fishingtailfilms loads of predators and big carp. I have caught small pike. Another great place is in Fairford they have big predator lakes and next door is a carp lake made famous buy Andy little. Met him there once with sky TV. I was chatting with him and he was feeding floaters to the carp. He cast in and hooked a huge carp in minutes then got in his car and left

@@marcharley6465 What a small world, I used to enjoy those inter club matches with Elm Park. I enjoyed fishing the sand pits at Ockendon for Crucians I think it was called Cory Sand pits. 👍

@@allanbeasley4565 Thank you Alan, loved your memories of youth days and I also went fishing on my bike as well if I traveled light otherwise it was a 4 mile hike pulling a trolley of Tackle from Forest Gate to Wanstead Park. I did fish to size limits and I am sure I have a rule somewhere hidden away. They were great days and I have so many other fishing stories as well. We are the same age 😊🐟🎣

I have seen fish tales or fishing tales used on many other social media and books so thought I would do something a bit different in the channels title but still connected to fish. @@Walsallgrower The Daiwa 5 in 1 rods does ring a bell David but I can say I know that much about them or ever seen any. I take it was designed for float, legering, pike fishing and or spinning rod?

Yes, the rods could be used to ledger, float, trout, pike and one adaption for sea fishing (which I never used). It's great to take a trip down memory lane Russ, thanks...

I love listening to you reminiscing the old days, it Refreshes my old days as a kid and the ponds that were free to fish in around my neck of the woods with no license or bailiff to Worry about although I should of had a license that was a shilling in cost 😅thank you so much 👍

@ Thanks Steven, remember the days when a different licence was needed for various regions. Thames, Southern, Kent, East Anglian. Happy days although sometimes confusing . I have more old stories to share from the anglers den in future videos 👍🐟🎣

I use my dads abu closed face. Just broke his zebco spinning reel even though its not particulary fancy still gutted because of the menorys he has with it just orded a new bail arm spring.

It is easily done David, but I kicked myself for taking out my tip rod just before loading my car. Lesson learned in my case. Looking forward to some nice fishing trips in 2025 just hoping the weather behaves itself especially for filming the sessions. Fingers crossed 🤞 👍 Happy New Year
