How did you balance the heavy Sirui 24mm on the RS2? I'm trying to do accomplish that with the light-weight Panasonic S5, but it just seems to strain the motor too much.
Nice! I am wondering what would be ~ equivalent aspherical mft focal length for getting similar field of view, looks similar to 17,5mm (35mm on full frame) ?
Hi mate, sorry for late reply. Thanks for stopping by. You are getting an equiv focal length of 36mm when taking into account the 1.33x anamorphic squeeze. You cannot get this look with a regular lens as you won't get something as wide with the same focal length. But otherwise, 35mm (equiv) is your go to
The grade in the opening shot is beautiful, nice muted kinda pastel tones. I know you mentioned base was buttery lut but can you talk a little on how you achieved the muted pastel look? Cheers
Hi Kevin! Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. All within the colour wheels pushing pinks and magenta around, changing the hue of the blues. Changing the hue of the greens and making them warmer!
I love this clip. Watched a few times as an example of how Sirui and P4k can look. Not too sharp (or too soft) and looks filmic, with good grain like quality (I know, whatever that means...!). Maybe that pro mist gives it an extra quality. So you shot in 4096x2160, then. de-squeezed in post. Can I ask, what was your timeline resolution? Also, based on previous question, you exported in (and then uploaded) in 4k I assume? Thx. (Also great 'running backwards' gimbal work, looks very stable!).
Thanks Phil! appreciate the love mate! This was also shot along time ago before i could colour balance as well as I do now. But still happy with how it came out for the retro look. The Sirui are very clean in their image, but i don't mind it! The Pro mist definitely helps though. Yes, shot in 4k DCI and de-squeezed in Resolve which can do at the click of a button. Timeline resolution was 4k DCI. Exported and uploaded in 4k. I always do :) This was also before i had a lot of experience with this gimbal, but it is super strong so really helped out. With tweaking of settings it could be even smoother. Thanks again!
Hi dude! Thanks so much. Yep I almost always do! I only don't now as I've changed the baseplate to the small rig one so there isn't any twist. But now I can't mount the follow focus with the adaptor on some lenses. Catch 22 haha
@@etchd_ I hear ya. I just purchased the Ronin rsc2 (RS2 's baby brother). I had a hard time with my Canon 24-105, but it works with my Panasonic 25mm. I like that I'm able to electronically control the focus with the 25mm since it's a mft native lens. I hate the fact that blackmagic cameras have to be so rigged out on gimbals. In all other situations, I want to rig it out, but NOT on a gimbal. I'm considering another camera (Sony a7iv) for gimbal work.
Hi mate. Glad you liked it! Can’t stack a mist on the variable nd. Not sure if that’s possible for any of them tbh. Have to put behind. I’d check out nisi new system that has magnetic snapping filters 👌
What a horrible image, so many filmmakers and the same muddy yellow mess in the blacks. Dull and no contrast or pop. Ugh folks, just because you have dynamic range doesn't mean you can't crush it down. Always afraid to lose cinematic dynamic range and end up making something that doesn't even look cinematic bud dull and yuk yellow.
The model is very positive, and the wide-angle lens makes me feel good when I look at it! !! Great!
Yoo thanks mate! yes shes the best! Makes it so much easier to film when the model is great! make sure you check her out!
@@etchd_ I think it's a wonderful work that combines your shooting technique and the goodness of the model! !! Nice video!
Love the retro vibe here man. Such a fun video. Nice cameo!
Thanks dude! Martina was such a good model for this! Will Def work with her again!
Really fun vibe! Nice work.
Thanks so much mate! I'm all about the good vibes. If it's not fun then why do it! At least for free anyways 😂
This was fun mate !! Love the summery vibe :). Makes me miss Manly so bad haha !!
Thanks man! haha give me some wintery vibes any day!
So good man! Absolutely nailed it 👏🏻
Ahh much appreciated man!
Great job! Really good use of the anamorphic to give us those wide views!
Thanks for the love Matt! Good to hear you enjoyed it.
Sometimes hit subscribe to the channel after watching part of the video and not watching the rest. That means I'm sure I feel the vibration 🤩🤩
Haha means a lot! Thanks so much 🙏
Niceee!
Thanks so much!
Amazing! loved it!
Hey thanks dude appreciate the love!
amazing shots!
Glad you think so mate! Appreciate the love!

awesome work!
Glad you think so! Have you used the Sirui lenses yet?
@@etchd_ Not yet but I would love to test one out!
Groovy 🌊
Thanks mate! Glad you like it!
great job ...

Inspirational!
Appreciate the kind words mate! 🙏
Whoa! The field of view is pretty wide for a m4/3 sensor! Did you happen to use any speed booster?
Once desqueezed its still quite wide hey! No speed booster as it'd a native mft lens! 😁
@@etchd_ That's awesome! Thank you for the reply! 😆🙏🏼
Good job!
Thanking you kindly my friend! 🙏

Amazing! where is this filmed? Hong Kong?
Hey thanks so much! Haha I wish! It's in Manly, Sydney 😁
do you have a lut for this ?
Hey mate, I don't sorry, but I could potentially make one! I will have a think!
@@etchd_ please do yo! this was so dope! i can see it being a film !!

This is awesome, well done! Does the Pro-Mist stack up on top of the ND without too many issues?

pretty larceny
Does the crop factor is applied on this lens ? ( 2 X 24 = 48 mm ? )
Hi Abdul, thanks for the comment. You also need to account for the 1.33x anamorphic desqueeze so divide that number by 1.33 = 36mm focal range.
Did you use speed booster ?
Hi mate, no, it is a native MFT lens!
hi
did you use any filter?
Hi mate, just a pro mist see the description!
Manly , Australia?
Hey Martin, sure is! Only place that had a long enough path along the beach!
@@etchd_ I thought I recognised the location although I was thinking Cronulla?
