- Does tires matter in snowrunner and if yes then how much, Today we'll find anwswer to this question in this video, It'll also help you to choose which tires you should buy for your vehicles.
#Snowrunner - Ігри
No commentary, no time wasting, straight to the point. Excellent vid
Tom cat would have a made 10 minute 12 second video
Thanks !
@@brennan9432 if it wasn't for tomcat neither this game nor mudrunner would have existed. Show some respect jeez the man's just trying to make a living.
Not really, I only need two seconds to tell you that YES they matter, don't need a 7 minute waste of time piece of shit video to explain that.
@@mynameisray the great, because I said so argument. So solid Info you gave us. Lol, plug.
I appreciate the time and effort that was put into this. Subbed!

Hey you got Tiktok?
Taller tires are better in all respect except for one; makes the vehicle tip over much easier. Had trouble with the Scout staying upright. Went to the next tire size down, same tire, helped quite a bit.
that's true but it depends.... some scouts like Chevy have not that tall tires to begin with but scout 800 on other hand have huge tall tires and it does make it tip over specially with roof rack addon but you can avoid that with autonomous winch
@@SD1ONE that would have been great info. If I hadn't sold my Scout 800 cause I figured they just shared same parts.
@@zombanator3000 Cool thin is price is the same for buying anything as it is to sell it, so you can sell your truck and buy other one, if you don't like it sell and buy back old and all upgrades no money lost :)
@@bLaCk1Ri sweet. The more you know
@@SD1ONE I think autonomous winch is must-have for scout vehicles. I just finished all watch towers and upgrade in Michigan with Chevy CK1500, forget how many times I tipped it over, but it always saved me. I feel SR used many features used to be added as MOD in MR or SP, autonomous winch is one of them, I remembered one of those mods was called "battery powered winch".
Before watching this: "I'd hope tires make a difference this is a off road game lol...jeez"
They didn’t matter in the older games lol
@@drgrape4302 That sucks, glad they made them actually make a difference in this one, since I'm getting the game.
@@drgrape4302 yeah lol cuz you can have 1 type of tire and thats it XD
What about after?
Large Mudtires are clearly the go to for USA and Russia, swap to chained when Alaska and you should be good to go!
Apparently trucks don’t have Mudtires so chained tires are the way to go
Alaska has mud too so chained tires are pointless also i've been running one of the Voron trucks from the Russian map in Alaska with all terrains and the thing has been phenomenal mud is the only thing that stops it most of the time but other than that thing's a beast
The Unhinged Gamer so what do you reckon all terrain or mud? In the video mud did beat all terrain a few times and if we take out the icy roads from Alaska mudtires may be the best?
I can’t see the point in running anything but off-road or mud tyres, one of the Alaskan maps has a lot of icy roads which would be easier with chains, but once you hit mud and you WILL hit mud, nasty Alaskan super boggy mud, you’ll get stuck, better off learning to slide your trucks than use chained tyres, sliding big trucks is fun too.
@@gamerdrive5565 in depends on how calculated your playstyle is. If you are just brute forcing your way through all missions then mudtires are always the best on any map and truck, but if you try to plan ahead and use all trucks and position them strategically then all tires make sense even the highway tires although thats still very niche.
JohnnyCacao I disagree, by the time you set up multiple trucks plan routes and adjust trucks setups to take advantage of highway tires, switch load from mud truck, to road truck... the mud trucks done the job 3 times over by itself.
Seems like it’s a “no-bullshit game”. Things work as they should, which am glad to see. I am so close to buying this game.
buy it, i have only had it for a day and i'm having so much fun
Yea, I’d buy it too. And I did. It’s so addicting. I’m about to eat dinner and jump right back on!
Just bought it. I am not sure it’s for me cause it’s incredible slow paced - I mean glazier-like slow paced..... I don’t know. I’ll give it some time tomorrow.
kentchr76 There is a big learning curve. But once you find your pace, you’ll enjoy it. There’s plenty of hot to get started videos on here to. Enjoy!
Love this game been hooked and when u get that yar 6x6 and the tank then it's even better
That's why I love your channel, the best one in comparisons like this one.
Straight to the point and concise
I was glad you did a size test, but you didn't try them under load to see if it messes with torque. I'd love to see that, plus there is a test mode that has a toggle to show the current actual speed that would help show effectiveness.

So I guess you can say “size does matter”
Wish I could give multiple thumbs up. Thanks for saving me a bunch of tests.
I have just started playing snowrunner and was really baffled by all the tyre choices. This video has helped massively! Thank you
Appreciate this video, even though results were what i had expected.
Would have liked to see the Offroad tires be tested compared to All Terrain to see if there is a "hidden" difference.
Yes! A snowrunner vid! :D
The next spintires series begins...
Seriously huge thanks for your video.. no useless talking true information straight to the point. J'aime
I haven't unlocked many of them yet, but this video is a big help for knowing what to use when I do. Thank You.
These are self explanatory. What I really wanted to know is the difference between I, II, and III tires. I know for off-road tires it determines what the tire's focus is but what about the rest of them?
i think it's mostly just aesthetic. but i noticed the different all terrain tires have slight stat differences
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ehuLHwbmA5ktr0ZC_gv52H3fkz3qxJY_i_uS7Gh0xRU/edit#gid=0
Different tire "numbers" have different stats.
Would be good if you used the same settings for all tests. Some have roof racks, some don't. Mud tires big are mounted on lifted suspension, and small look to be mounted on stock.
You should work to reduce number of variables.
I think some tired require lifted suspension. I’m not sure though it’s something to consider
@@notmemeoftheweek6674 Yes, but trucks are not the same. One is lifted, one is not. As I said, reduce number of variables to make it possible to draw conclusions from comparison.
Great video! How I wish most UA-cam videos were done. No bullcrap and alot of good info
Excellent testing there, concise and to the point.
Excellent video. Pure data and no fuss. Great job!
If I may ask, can you also make a comparison of same type tires, but different versions (for example UAD I vs UAD II vs UAD III for allterain or UOD I vs UOD II vs UOD III for offroad). I wonder if there are differences, as they are differently priced. Thanks in advance.
"Mud tires are best in mud" wow didnt see that one coming!
well highways werent best on the road
I love your videos man. It is great to now have you covering Snowrunner
Really appreciate you doing this video. Clears up a lot of misconception.
The fact that the different tires make a difference in offroad performance is just a testament to great programming and game design. I can’t think of one offroad game where the tires even mattered. Test drive offroad series, 4x4 evolution series, and cabelas off road didnt allow you to visibly change out the tires (and none looked like their cover art). Basically this is the offroad game I have waited my whole life for.
guessed you missed the last two iterations of this game called spintires and mudrunner lol. it was just less obvious about it in those games
Mudrunner doesn’t let me change the tires on the vehicles.
Thanks now i dont have to test every tire which works the best.
Muddies for muds.. chains for snow/ice
I've only been playing the game for a day (8hours already), but when I see the video here, I'm falling more and more in love with the game. Thank you!
I remember watching this video 3 years back during lock down of that summer. Good times. Dad used to get so confused whenever you honked in the vids
Damn i never thought this guy would go back to Spintires
I think all terrain and offroad do a lot different in mud
Excellent vid mate
Concise, informative and no puffing. Well done
Nice video man. Good to see everything confirmed. I appreciate the amount of effort you put in to this.
I would say that most of this apply to real life as well. These results just taught me that I was 100% correct about how I thought they all worked out.
+1
I personally think instead of highway tires you should have included off road tirea
yeah we know highway is gonna be useless. I kinda wanna see if the last one of each category is really the best, too
@@-hexa well the bigger tires are best. that gives you more clearance to go over rocks ect. also makes you faster.
Ground clearance makes a huge difference as in Snowrunner.
yeah, he kinda missed that point aswell.
@@Sphereaus he didn't any points, this video was strictly about tires...
@@corneilusdonaldson1858 but testing tyres should have been as accurate as possible, so not using raised suspension or using it on all tyres would have been fair. In my own testing, I used raised on every tyre and had significant differences. but hey, lets just mislead people for the sake of being "first" to do something.
@@Sphereaus As far as I can tell, all the trucks are using raised suspension. Only truck that was different in trials was the one without the bed rack.
@@Sphereaus its was the Big vs Small tires that bugged me, he should have raised on both to make it fair, off the bat you can only have large wheels on raised, but with mud test of coarse a truck that has higher clearance will do better in mud with big or small , big just gives that little extra contact
I never even thought about the tire size making any difference until I watched this video. Thanks
Fantastic video. Really well put together. Thanks 👍🏻
I kind of wished you had done a snow test for different tire categories. I'm curious if chained is better than mud or vice versa.
Same here.
I am still in michigan but as I am nearly done there I got chained wheels on some trucks and noyiced on hard dirt they are a bit quicker but on tarmac much more inclined to slide about, in mud it seems to be no dif but to me on mud the chined tyres are better when pulling trailers then basic offroads, for russia I will prob just run mud tyres everywhere
Of course! It is different! That's why I use allterra and mud tires to help me do stuffs. :) Plus chain tire for snow map.
Edit: One more thing, road tire and road truck useless on all three maps. 😂😂
Besides maybe on maps where you have helped rebuild bridges and don't got too long distances to cover on a gig on mostly road. Tho that's a maybe. Managed to use the starter highway truck with suspension and all-terrain tires to go all the way to the location of a Tatarin in the Zimmy place from Drowned Lands. Not probably recommended tho, had to climb shit.
Thank you for this! Very helpful!
What took you so long, I loved this video and can’t wait for more from Snowrunner. 👏🏽 👏🏽
"Mudtires are best in mud"
*Hmm yes, and the floor is made of floor*
@Sebi 91 Games are not real? How can we play them then? /s
@Sebi 91 /s means sarcasm.
You're welcome.
how can you say "only tires are different when everything, else is same" when the paint is different
agreed I demand a retest I think I see a fleck of lead in the red paint too much weight made the all seasons bad ;D
@@RTSGAM3R ah yes lead paint definitely still used lol
Yeah, obviously red make go fasta
Nice fact lol
Glad to see you back in business, bro. Continuing to deliver for us its most interesting content 👍
This was oddly informative. Thank you for this! Excellent vid!
The heavier trucks/semis can choose between single and dually rear wheels. Do u think one has an advantage over the other?
In real life yes. Here I don't think so
@@moearaji6781 thats sorta what im thinking i mean, the track width is bigger on the dually wheels so prolly helps with stability but i imagine the different categories of tires make more difference for traction
@@dr._breens_beard technically speaking the single tire has less surface area so it should in theory "cut thru" mud and snow easier than dually. Imagine a pushing a wide shovel thru snow vs pushing a very narrow one. I've only been playing for 6 hrs 7hrs but I have noticed when your stuck a single tire is super hard to get our vs dually hahah
@@moearaji6781 that makes more sense. Im wondering if they made the duallys better because of the percieved advantage of "moar wheels" as a way to streamline the experience
@@dr._breens_beard From my pov, cutting through mud or snow is less effective. Same for spinning tires too fast, it make the cutting faster which usually result in getting stuck faster.
With no friction and a large tire surface, the truck is sinking slower into soft terrain. Weight and speed are playing their roles too.
The key is to manage to get the most momentum, so the truck keep it's speed without allowing tires to cut through terrain. For ex, an heavy truck going fast and spinning its tires strongly can get stuck instantly in some places where it could have almost glide over the terrain surface.
SD1ONE - can you check if there are differences between various subtypes (I II III) of the same tires if they have the same stats in menu? They do differ in price - is that just cosmetics?
Good example are highway tires on GMC 9500
This. Save some extra cash
they have difference but it's really small it would be hard to convey on a video. The more expensive ones are generally better they have better tire pattern
@@RAiNfORAiNbOW do you have any data about the difference. I am curious
@@RAiNfORAiNbOW nvm - I've found out myself but thanks for confirmation that there is a difference :)
I think the latest patch tells you what terrain each set of tires excels at,if that helps.
Now this is very informative. Cheers bud!
Great video, very well done, i passed on Spint when Mudr came out since it was already dated at the time, This one looks very interesting, love the snow as an owner of many snowmobiles in my days
what about the different versions in each class, I, II & III, are these just cosmetic?
in the garage itll say its either better on-road, off-road, or in mud (or ice for chained)
Jack O'Race so does off-road even make a difference? Like is that just anywhere off road that isn’t mud or snow?
Brendon Hunter yeah, exactly that, its just something to get you off highway tires til you can get the mud tires
@@RelyksAD yea I see the ratings there for each, but there's usually 3 versions of the same tyre, eg; 45" OSD I, 45" OSD II & 45" OSD III.. they all show the same ratings on the stats but cost more from I to III. They do look cosmetically different, but I was wondering if there's a performance difference.. ie are there levels of 'excellent' mud tyre. A 47" is better than a 45" despite both saying excellent for example.
Nik Owen yeah, id assume it is slightly better, just their rating system isnt good at showing it
You lost me when I saw: "Only difference here is weight of roof rack addon" .... So why don´t you just remove it to not make any difference? smh...
Both tires have almost the same stats in mud.
He used this test to check if the roof rack makes a difference.
Result: roof rack makes a difference.
Thanks so much; I was so confused on how to deal with the mud 😎
this is incredible... Ive been looking at tires thinkin nah they cant matter enough to be worth it.. wow
I see you spread your top gear like testing to other games
That's surprising, every tire is the best on his field😂
Highway isn't the best on road, LOL
Bro ur video never disappoint me..good to se u doing the best work 🙂
Thanks for the vid it really helped me know which tires to buy
You left out deep snow. I can't find a good tyre for that. Everything struggles.
44" kahn
@@liamcbf Are chained tires any better in the snow, like they are over ice?
@@bbi1965 Nope, they actually seem worse. I'm doing a best scout showdown that mentions this.
mudtires are best in mud. i know that. XD
Rex Choi Chained are best in chains
@@oneberry5149 yyyyyup, i accept that. 😄
Every 60 seconds in africa, a minute passes
If you read what the tire says, some say poor, average, or good for the offroad, highway or mud/snow. So one of the same tire could be better at one of those, just look what the description says on the right hand side next time you're viewing the tires
Outstanding video. Informative well-done clear easy to understand. Great video other UA-camrs should pay attention to how you created this and use it as a platform to create their own videos
Finally i was waiting for the test of snowrunner about all perks and vehicle :p
I thought the hummers stock tyres where going to be good when I tried them as they had excellent on almost all the categories but when I tried going through some mud it sank and refused to move.
Did you have the lift kit?
JLXGaming no
That's why
i had different experience, stock tires were the best everywhere on Hummer
Raised suspension for mud will help a lot but with higher tendencies to roll over on uneven terrain.
The stock scout highway tires in this game are so bad I would not use them at all on a real vehicle.
Keen Colios the They just are highway tires. Not use them on off road. They are terrible off road.
Perfect test. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!!!
Real life fun fact: Deflated highway tires are great on sand.
Answer: YAS MATE
Well, makes it better than GTA in my book, because it would be cool if GTA Tires actually had an effect.
Good job keeping variables constant. Nice video!
Great video - great testing. Thanks.
what a dumb decision to not include offroad tires
JohnnyCacao yeah I’d much rather see off-road in the comparison than chained in some tests and highway in others. Or just, you know, do all 5
Its a bit less exciting then gta 5
Excellent video, like and subscribed😁 nice job
Love your comparisons videos
Thanks for the vid. Its something i wondered myself. :)
Sweet video. I run chained on my trucks. Might setup one for just mud
Good job dude. This is really well done.

Love the video. Informative and fun.
These comparison videos are brilliant - I've watched so many of them and it's really improved how I choose my vehicles and kit them out in Snowrunner so thanks for posting them. Btw, how do you get to the various tests, is it a modded region you have to install?
Please do more videos like this on Snowrunner. Amazing video
Please please please make a similar video comparing all the winches of the game! Great video, well done.
Interesting, I wish you had included snow tires. In my limited alaska experience I found mud tires do not work well on snow, but will when I shift into mud patches.
Love that you went into size. But for the Offroad. I'm interested if they're all the same. The only difference being small tire vs big tire. Both having the lift. Not one being not lifted
Time to do this video paid off. New sub!
O.o all my respect for you bro, nice video, i appreciate your time and effort
Awesome, I love these kind of tests, conclusion for me is stick to mud tires and bigger ones and use chain if going in icy area. I my game I haven't leveled up enough yet so using all terrain right now, not really worth using them over mud it seems for small increase in speed on roads. Unless mud tires cant do road steep inclines, only test I see missing here that I'm curious about.
Love this game and videos like this makes it that much better, much respect and God bless!
Good stuff! Are you gonna be making any more comparison videos in the future for this game?
Excellent video! Was up until midnight playing this game.. on a work night :/
One of the things I love about this game is that I have actually applied my real world understanding of bad terrain and weather for setting up my rigs.
Great comparison 👌 well done.

I've spent about 18hours playing this game so far, I'm losing my mind playing it, but I love it
Any other classes by chance? I ask because I did a contest with highway, all terrain and off road. Off road out performed all terrain a great deal. Otherwise awesome video, looking forward to more from you.
I’m more and more impressed by the fundamentals of this game, but WAY more impressed by your methodical approach!
