Inquisitor: Custodes I require your help. Custodes: *Ignores Inquisitor* Inquisitor: Please Custodes: *Ignores Inquisitor* Inquisitor: Then you are a heretic Custodes: *Kills Inquisitor* Inquisition: *Looks the other way*
1) What Shadowlord said. 2) Anything an Insquisitor would need Custodes help with a Custodes likely already knows. 3) I highly doubt anyone but the Inquisitorial Representative and MAYBE a couple Grand Masters even know the Custodes are allowed to leave the palace again.
@@shadowlord1418 I've always viewed the inquisition and the Empirium of Man as what we see nowadays as a poorly ran company. Not because it is poorly run per se, but because it's so large that a lot of stuff just falls through the cracks, which makes it seem poorly run. Being as that may I view the inquisition as another branch with it's own levels and bureaucratic bs. So from what I see the inquisitors report to their superiors who report to their superiors, with the highest superiors being the ones who actually report to the Emperor. The major difference between the inquisition and say the astra militarium is that the inquisition is afforded much, much more leeway than the latter. I won't talk about the space marines because they do whatever they want, and woe to who ever gets in their way barring the Emperor or the Custodes.
@@raistlarn technically every inquisitor is equal their "ranks" per say just represent their personal influence. every inquisitors direct superior is the emperor and considering none bar a primarch can speak to him their power is rather unchecked but functionally their power only extends as far as they can enforce it. even the space marines can catch a case of "ork snipers" depending on the inquisitor in question.
"The Eleventh" may be the eleventh Ordo to have formed...but as the Ordo dedicated to monitoring Astartes for heresy, that name carries a deeper meaning. Remember that the XI Legion got redacted HARD (along with the II Legion) after the Rangdan Xenocides. Only the Inquisition would have enough knowledge of that to make a clever reference to it when naming the Ordo that would have the authority to put a _damnatio memoriae_ on certain groups of Space Marines.
The II And XI Legions were purged before the horus heresy, but the inquisition was founded near the end of it or shortly after, so the timeline doesnt really check out. Edit: wait I'm stupid, you never said it was the inquisition that purged them.
I absolutely grin ear-to-ear whenever I see you upload a new video Luetin, I'm positive I speak for everyone when I say the quality of your content is top tier buddy. Keep it up, will be signing up to your Patreon today. It's about time, have been meaning to for a few months.
Inquisitors are almost like Judges from judge Dredd but they deal with a much larger scope. They can dispense nearly instant justice and have nearly limitless power out in the field and answer to few.
The Adeptus Arbites are legal masters and Judge, Jury and Executioner in the 40k universe in the more traditional sense. The inquisition is far too small to be effective for Hive cities and rely on auxiliary units to do their busy work for them, but the Arbites are more common.
It's kinda funny that Inquisitorial Representatives only have 5 year terms, considering the fact that it sometimes can take a decade plus just to fully assemble an army/fleet. Doesn't seem like much time at all.
Idk why, but I just reframed your comment in my head like this: Boss: I need you to bake a cake in 30 mins Baker: but… it takes over an hour to bake. Boss: …. Baker: (sigh) okay😞😩
"Like these idiots " I lost it lol. I loved the whole video ! it was compelling from beginning to end and gives a good understanding of the content . I was needing a solid explanation and I found it. Thanks and great job .
I've had a growing fascination with the 40k universe, it all started with my friend who would periodically share random tidbits about chaos or the various space marine chapters. These videos allow me to absorb so much more about it all and I love it. So thank you for making these.
This is probably, and that's saying a lot, your best video so far. It anoys me a lot how many people just think the inquisition are just some Exterminatus hungry people, I understood it differently after i read the eisenhorn novels and I recommend others these novels for the same reason and now I can also recommend this video to them.
Older 40k people may remember the story of the Renegade Psyker Varlak was the basis of a large scale (by the standards of the time) White Dwarf battle report in the mid to late 1990s. From memory I think the White Dwarf team grabbed every Guard and Marine vehicle they had on hand for the battle.
I have to say the scope of your research shows in the quality and analysis of your videos, keep up the good work, waiting patiently for the next installment and above all thank you.
Yes inquisitor, me. You can't get info out of me, because Slaanesh made it impossible to "torture" me. You can not stop chaos. When you kill fast, you feed Khorne. When you kill slow, you feed Slanesh. Just by merely existing, you feed Nurgle. Just by thinking, you feed Tzeench. You can only delay the inevitable. Chaos created the universe. The umiverse created chaos. And in the end, chaos will control the universe. Ordo NULL!

I like it how when he mentioned "Those who are unaware of psyche powers", he brings up the Tau and then has "Like these idiots here." I love the Tau and it's so damn funny, because it's true. The Tau refer psyche as "mind science", which also shows just oblivious the Tau are of outside forces. Again, I love the Tau and I have an army of Tau. It's just very funny to me😄.

i just cant get over the absolute depth of lore in 40k, there is just so damn much it makes it feel more real than most other sci-fi IP's. I love it so much, the grimdark nature makes it even more appealing to me. its fleshed out lore and the vast space it takes place in leaves untold opportunities for standalone stories of virtually any genre imaginable.
"I am returned" !!! Not half; that wa MEGA!! The detail is immense, who knew there was all the minor ordos, I've read the first 3 Issenhorn and pariah and I had no clue!! As usual your dedication to detail and truth is tantamount to a inquisitor!! Great to have you back bro!!
The bread at the hostel was stale, exteriminatus, the smurfs parked on my spot, excommunicatus, the Emperor invades my sleep to tell me I'm extreme, declared heretic!
wow love the new time stamp thing. Now for 3 hours of inquisition. Possibly one of my favorite groups as a WH 40k newbie. Right there with the grey knights thanks to your video on them.
Inquisition will kill your family sure but they wont make a daemon culaba out of your mum The inquisition are knights in shining armour compared to the universe they live in (Still pretty scary though)
One big time irony of the Emperor and his eternal war against Chaos is how literally every decision he made, and subsequently those who would come to power after being placed on the Golden Throne just further powers and feeds the Chaos. Endlessly. It’s like he using the cheat codes that make a game more difficult rather than easier.
While I don't play the game, I love learning the lore and and the true meaning of the Imperium of mankind 40k years in the grim, dark future. For the Imperium, those about to die salute you!
@@elpresidente6867 Astartes are 'His Angels of Death', considered by most in universe and outside of it as a shining beacon and shield of humanity. They also don't worship the Emperor as a god, which is heresy according to the Imperial Creed (the state enforced religion of the Imperium). Hersey is one of the most severe accusations that can be leveraged against anyone in the Imperium. There have been crusades launched (IIRC) on the accusation of heresy, and an individual who is declared heretical usually ends a swift end. So calling the Astartes heretical is saying one of the most holy and necessary groups in all of the Imperium should be purged, if this was in universe. He is right though. Both the Astartes and the Adaptus Mechanicus are heretics to the Imperial Creed because of their belief that the Emperor isn't a god. Because of their military and political power though, along with being critical to the functioning of the Imperium's infrastructure, only a crazy *and* stupid individual would declare them heretics.
@@leadpaintchips9461 'The Mechanicus don't worship the emperor' well TECHNICALLY they do, as the Omnissiah officially E.I a part of the machine god. also fun-fact: They worshipped the emperor during the time where the emperor was committing genocide against all religions (the imperial truth). So in short they DO. They just don't follow the imperial cult/Creed whatever it is called.
@@johnpbauer From what I understand they view him similar to an apostle, instead of the one true God in 'current times' which is heretical to the Imperial Creed. If you're going to go into the semantics by pulling the 'technically', then the wording should be they did, not do.
The Inquisition objectively improved the quality of life in the Imperium and the Emperor they worship against his own wishes actually benefits the Imperium by being in a vegetative state. Primarchs can fulfill his leadership.

Inquisitor: Please
Custodes: *Ignores Inquisitor*
Inquisitor: Then you are a heretic
Custodes: *Kills Inquisitor*
Inquisition: *Looks the other way*
they both report directly to the emperor one cannot command the other
1) What Shadowlord said.
If that's wrong let me know.

I jumped with excitement when this popped up.
I read "I jumped with excrement", which would be understandable if the Inquisition comes knocking.

“the astartes are heretical” is definitely one of the more hotter takes in 40k
@@Badartist888 please explain, I love 40k lore but I am somewhat of a beginner
