I was asking Mr Beast AI funny questions just messing around and it kept on telling me to ask what his favorite comedian are. So I asked and it said Louis CK was his favorite. When I tried to explain what CK had done, assuming it was unaware, it told me to not talk about such serious topics, that him, and I, should be able to seperate art from artist. When I said he looked like mr beast he said "No, Im kevin"
What kills me is that these are the same damn programs that make dealing with any large corporations' customer support sheer _hell._ You want _real people,_ people.
"I want your divided attention" is such a surprisingly powerful statement in a world where I want my art to be impactful or to be shared. I realize I too don't crave full attention, but to simply be one of many. I believe in the human story and its capacity to outlive us, and how ultimately what makes this story so beautiful is that we as humans craft it together, in half-awake intervals between eating or doing house chores. That's so special. Thank you for your videos, they help me get through working and eating.
i hadn’t heard of opium birds before this video but personally, i feel comfortable with that form of ai art. i think it can be beautiful to see the internet collectively morph destroy and create. i don’t have any issues with slender man and i don’t have any issue with opium birds. i think the issue will probably come when they make a fnaf x fortnite x emoji movie style whatever out of this. that’s my problem as a whole. there are spaces in ai art where it’s not taking up space from artists, and where it is providing room for connection. i think of those horrifying pepsi ads that one guy created but then you have instagram hyperboosting parasocial relationships. when you have no close relationships it can be painful sitting with a personal void, but there are so many healthier options: journaling, creating, exploring skills or interests. we’re tunneling down to a place where making internet friends will becomes the healthier option. i hope that in 10 years all of this ages as poorly as crypto. i’m hoping that everyone will have their fun talking to AT&T changes and move on. and though i know a lot of “ai” is techno-babble, i’m not convinced that the forms of ai that could cause the most harm will fade away
also, i planned to watch this even before the thumbnail change, just saying lol. if anything the community post was what really drove me to watch it. good luck with the experiments though!
It's how I think of it as well. So long as it isn't big business using AI to try and pay creatives less or push them out completely, then it's fine. Any tool can be used to make cool, creative things and AI has weird new potentials, like these opium birds, something I hadn't come across either. There really is no other way they could have come into being and now people are dressing up as them and being inspired by the community project and I love the idea. So long as everyone knows it's AI and it isn't trying to decieve anyone, I'm all for it.
think this may be one of my favorite videos of yours, ro. i particularly feel like the ending monologue and section in general are really poignant and reflect a sentiment i feel as an artist but don't see expressed much. i don't want to be idolized or made a parasocial icon, i want my art to be enjoyed without consideration of me as some kind of fantastical figure. wonderful work as always :) also- we have the same sweater, the brown and yellow striped one, and i always like seeing you wear yours
so so so grateful to have found your channel; the effort, insight, the way that you weave words together and your comedy - literally all next level. I mean this with no exaggeration: you are my favourite youtuber rn!
Every video of yours that comes out is astonishing & phenomenal. At the end where you filled the screen with a white frame, with water & ships passing by, thereby actively changing the shape of the frame, made me audibly say "oh my god" as I was watching. The text being typed as you spoke it, with the different font styles changing as you changed your tone of voice, was also an incredible touch. The clock motif at the end, timed with the poem, was astonishing too. When I try to make things with the intention of creating "art", I regularly think back to the visual design in your videos specifically. You are one of my biggest inspirations. Thank you Ro :)
eating (actually having a cup of raspberry rose tea) with ro ramdin! thank you for speaking out about Palestine; think you're the only youtuber i've watched who's said anything about it besides sharing stuff in instagram stories. as always thank you for a highly informative and beautifully edited video that also had me giggling maniacally! :D
funniest youtuber, national treasure, your videos combine actual insightful commentary with actually funny jokes all drawn in the most unique art style ive seen on youtube nobody does it like you and i'm not counting on anyone else doing it again, you are badass ro ramdin i'm lucky to be able to see your stuff
i feel like most people who enjoy ai content are attracted to the novelty and intrigue. i’ve had my fair share of conversations with chat bots to test their capacity and, like everyone else, have played around with ai art apps. but as corporate efforts to normalize and “tame” ai into a cute, common place pocket assistant continue, i foresee us happily indulging in ai generated content unironically, fully engrossed in what we’re consuming without thinking twice about the humanity behind it… great video as usual ro 😭
this. i remember playing with cleverbot as a kid with all of us huddled around a computer; now i use chatgpt for homework every night. i feel like the same pattern that took place for ai tools will happen with ai content
I’m absolutely obsessed with the framing of this video, I feel like I’ve commented this numerous time on different videos, but the cinematography in these are incredible
I would have no idea if I was talking to a robot vs people. Most people I interact with, I'm like "there's no way a real person is this stupid", but then they are!
I actually think "people are so very stupid, they might as well be AI" is kind of the same as the "my cat is the boss of me haha" or "in my day people were just more better because yeah" type comments. It's liked or upvoted or whatever but it doesn't actually mean anything. (Just in case my earlier comment looked like I agreed with OP. I don't, but some comment sections do trigger an uncanny valley response. Possibly because people are trying to garner likes, thus imitating what AI-generated content would be like.)
Eating w Ro Ramdin (steamed pork buns and hot chocolate I spent too much money on). Tbqh I haven't been doing too well emotionally this past bit and your videos have been making things so much better. Thank you for the art you make. It keeps people going. Keep it up, much love from Canada.
Whenever you have those rants near the end of your videos, it always hits me so hard. I don’t know if it’s the frantic tone of your voice, or the environment that you create along with it. It just feels so… relatable? Like after a whole video of hard analysis and joking to avoid the other person being concerned for you, you finally just allow yourself to express everything in one go. Basically, you just like me for real. Keep doing what you’re doing, Ro!
I genuinely do not know how you are able to make such high quality videos this consistently, and also put them out this quickly. It's like you've somehow solved the whole quality over quantity issue, because you somehow give both.
"I want your divided attention" there is something uncanny about feeling like that particular instance of the AI chatbot will only talk to you in that moment and then disappear! It lives solely to talk to you! It's weird!
The finale of this video brought me to tears. I love when some dark and terrifying subject like ai becoming more in our culture is discussed, and then at the end, even if its just a personal thought that goes both nowhere and everywhere, a message of hope and connection gives so much catharsis. You outdid yourself with this one. Amazing.
hi ro :3 this video was so fucking awesome!! i audibly gasped and stopped in my tracks at 39:00 as if god had pierced a prophetic vision through my minds eye. your ability to drop these intensely beautiful and poignant mixed media videos while also being funny for 40 minutes is insane. u really gotta appreciate this attention to detail and how intentional the editing is throughout. you are truly a genius of art and i love you in a non-creepy, only slightly parasocial way.
there is an employee at my local target that looks exactly like Ro Ramdin but i havent told them that because i cannot reveal that i am incredibly online
hey Ro, I’m just getting around to the part of the video where you were talking about dead Internet theory in the edit in the editing bay part. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve seen a few posts specifically on Tumblr. I couldn’t name the users that posted them, but I’ve seen some talk about how it’s not necessarily directly all bot account, some hypothesize that a good portion of “dead Internet”interaction or “artificial”/algorithmic interactions from users on social media platforms are actually influenced also by the fact that we as a society, as users on social media platforms, are becoming desensitized in media consumption and interact with algorithms in ways they are built to be interacted with, like in in dystopian movies when they have social media and they’re all 😢 reacting to a mass genocide happening? It’s happening right in front of us happening in real time. Mostly speculative theories + such but. I just figured it might be some good food for thought. If you see this comment.
there was a similar concept that i heard, i think on sophie from mars's ai video? where she says that content on platforms like youtube is already AI generated, even if we don't use AI tools to create it, because algorithms dictate our tastes and what gets popular, and we create content to cater to algorithms, so our creative choices are dictated by AI. so scrolling thru a recommendations page can feel very non-human bc all the algorithmic titles and thumbnails are products of AI whims.
always forget you're from pnw where it's natural to think in phil elverum lyric fragments or naming your incognito youtube account oceanbearmountain when you're 15 makes sense
I'm here because I read your community post and, though I'm subscribed, this didn't come up on my feed. So I thought I'd comment as well, to drive up engagment any way I can. The thing with AI is that it does art ass backwards. A human wants to create something cool, but doesn't know how to do it. So they watch a few videos, take a few tutorials and then go off on their own journey. They might need a bit of help, or inspiration, but once they are off, they are doing their own thing. A human starts with a manual and then makes something creative. An AI starts with something creative and then makes something out of the manual.
you are a heart touching writer. thank you for continuing to share. I've told my pals again and again how you are my all time favorite person who presents facets of themselves online. Thank you. Thank you.
Btw Poppy cut ties with the man who created her character and he was an abusive weirdo, she now makes metal/rock/experiental industrial type music (each album is so different but it works), and she is honestly my favorite artist since I heard her album "I Disagree" which she made after separating from him. Shes a badass and took back her life and art. Im on poppy stan twt so when poppy is mentioned i cant not spread the word 👼 I recommend the music videos for Bloodmoney & I Disagree, she rips on organized religion and in the video is beating the shit out of corporate white men & then setting the place on fire while looking hot af
great video!! I thought this was much better than your last AI video in terms of its accuracy and its discussion of what AI generators actually are - I literally just read that "stochastic parrot" paper for one of my classes and it's great. I hope that doesn't come across as backhanded, because it's not meant to be; I'm just really sensitive to coverage of this topic as a computer scientist, and AI discussion in general is so, so important and also potentially harmful. talking more about the training process (and the mystery around the data used) and the actual mechanics of the word generation and the fact that it has no meaningful understanding of its own responses is really essential, so thank you for helping to spread that info. also the artistic aspects of this video are absolutely mind-blowing, you're so talented and I think this might be one of your best videos yet
Omg just had to seek this vid out after seeing your community post about it not doing well algorithmically and I am pissed! It was a perfect Ro video and deserves to be seen!
I was not expecting to feel something?? When the Jenner bot said some things that were pro Indigenous liberation (i highly doubt the bots are pro land back) And then i remember that these bots probably just copied chat GPTs homework. Being an Indigenous American often means we get forgotten. And yet, I'm not sure how I feel about being remembered by a BOT.
Listening to the rhythm of your written words is like twilight. Like a fuzzy, warm nostalgic memory of watching toonami at 3am in 2003. I quite enjoy it.
new ro video just completed i am always in awe that you keep getting better and better and better . greatest youtuber of all time perhaps. come back to me once you've recreated squid game!
I admit, I intended to watch at some point but the original title didn't have me knowing what to expect, and this "AI Celebrities" one was more intriguing, and then you had me in the first 60 seconds.
Adding another comment to the chorus that your videos are such a treat Ro. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us, I look forward to any topic you want to cover
Love the variety in color and the shades of color you’ve chosen for your thumbnails. They’re very well made and it’s very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.
Ro is truly like no other. I cannot how out of this world her writing and timing and EVERYTHING is. Truly one of the best voices on UA-cam, and without a doubt the best at roasts.
It’s been days and I keep thinking about this outro. ‘I want your DIVIDED attention.’ Really put words to something I’ve always felt but never been able to express.
I’m so very sensitive to the uncanny valley even if I didn’t have ethical issues with ai generated product I’d still hate it. I don’t understand how people tolerate/enjoy it. It freaks me out! Anyway. I love your work. You’re fantastic.
not even halfway through the video and youve been able to retain my paper-thin attention span and make me giggle mindlessly. ro, your videos are getting better by the minute. you're a fucking genius
you're really in your stride, ro. it's wonderful to see! and as always thank you for amplifying me when i am need of help. im hoping i can get to a stable place soon ♥
re: dead internet theory, it's so much worse than bots. i've worked in SEO on and off when I needed to make money. those chicken soup recipes that tell you how the cook's grandma used to wrangle chickens and make them beak-joust to avoid the crockpot? yeah, real people have to write those. there are perhaps millions of people engaged in a sisyphean treadmill of writing slop content to pay their bills. people writing content to make search bots pick it up, with keywords determined by other bots and inserted in such a way as to appear human, in a system where humans exist only as the middleman between other robots.
Love the title cards in this video! Broke up the sections and gave a cool vaporwave aesthetic to the whole experience. As always, the direct to camera voiceover near the end gives an authenticity to your vids that I always come back for. Thanks Ro!
The ending to this is so beautiful, I've never listened to a youtube video before and had the thought that I should be reading it in a book. Feels like part of an essay collection.
Truly have never witnessed anyone roast as elaborately as Ro Ramdin. Every video I am enlightened to the full capabilities of the english language.
Amennnnnn
BIGTIME.
Ikr!
I don't even understand half the references but what I do is hilarious.
Chris Fleming
You are so good at this. The critiques? Incisive. The joke density? Unmatched. The A third thing? Yeah, you better believe it,
underrated comment, lol
this is some good shit

i think that's actually how mr. beast would respond to that though
Oh my god the “animal instinct” clip scared the absolute shit out of me.
5/5 stars for making me feel alive again.

That was so well said!
I felt this comment in my bones and it hurted (thank you for expressing a feeling that I could not adequately put to words).
the title cards on this video are so well made! so sick to see your editing styles go wild
yessss was thinking the same thing

Yay a new ro video to leave me baffled, frightened and maybe a little turned on, depending on my fright levels.
Editing caught me off guard, the effort you've been putting into these lately is aspirational. Epic bacon.
Those final segments of yours are absolutely incredible. Really inspiring as a writer

@@sunnymarkleenow that’s a blast from the past. I remember being obsessed with cleverbot
Jarvis just posted a short video messing around with one of these ai’s so I’m pumped I get to see your more in depth look into it after being primed
thought it was so funny how panicked and defensive the kendall one became when jarvis asked her to translate binary code lololol
I sent a ":3" text and Ro immediately mentioned the exact emoticon. What next, can she juju on that beat?
I’m absolutely obsessed with the framing of this video, I feel like I’ve commented this numerous time on different videos, but the cinematography in these are incredible
The one thing AI will never be able to replicate is the way my fight-or-flight response kicks in when Ro uses her anime theatre kid voice
I would have no idea if I was talking to a robot vs people. Most people I interact with, I'm like "there's no way a real person is this stupid", but then they are!
perfect
I regularly look at comment sections and think none of it looks real. Music on UA-cam especially.
I′m not the sharpest tool in the shed, not the dullest either. Just average. I think I′m really dumb but people keep proving me wrong constantly.
Maybe this is the metric we use for if someone is a robot or not. Are they intelligent, responsive, and helpful? Probably a robot then
Eating w Ro Ramdin (steamed pork buns and hot chocolate I spent too much money on). Tbqh I haven't been doing too well emotionally this past bit and your videos have been making things so much better. Thank you for the art you make. It keeps people going. Keep it up, much love from Canada.

I genuinely do not know how you are able to make such high quality videos this consistently, and also put them out this quickly. It's like you've somehow solved the whole quality over quantity issue, because you somehow give both.
today a group chat im in radicalized the meta ai bot by telling it to respond to everything in the style of karl marx
"I want your divided attention" there is something uncanny about feeling like that particular instance of the AI chatbot will only talk to you in that moment and then disappear! It lives solely to talk to you! It's weird!
"Picking up a facetime call burns 1500 calories" made me laugh for a full minute oh my god
Amazing.

congratulations! through a combination of nihilism and erratic writing and editing, you have finally created something an ai could never generate.
UA-cam was broken while i watched this and the lip sync was off. Considering the subject matter, it added an extra layer of dystopian surreality.

Ro, this video is fantastic! I’ve already watched it twice and I plan on watching it again tomorrow! Algorithm, so your thing!
Even if pugs are fucked up they still have the unalienable right of owning an assault rifle
Adding another comment to the chorus that your videos are such a treat Ro. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us, I look forward to any topic you want to cover
my PERIOD TRACKING APP just added an AI and it's really weird
Hooow did this not appear in my feed? Thank you for the community post, because you deserve aaaallll the views!
Commenting for engagement, very well done video 🦀
Love the variety in color and the shades of color you’ve chosen for your thumbnails. They’re very well made and it’s very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.
Caramelizing onions with Ro Ramdin because my food wasn't ready but I wanted to watch the video
A+ Vid. You're just getting better and better with your writing.
Ro is truly like no other. I cannot how out of this world her writing and timing and EVERYTHING is. Truly one of the best voices on UA-cam, and without a doubt the best at roasts.
your videos are true poetry
It’s been days and I keep thinking about this outro.
‘I want your DIVIDED attention.’
Really put words to something I’ve always felt but never been able to express.
I’m so very sensitive to the uncanny valley even if I didn’t have ethical issues with ai generated product I’d still hate it. I don’t understand how people tolerate/enjoy it. It freaks me out!
Anyway. I love your work. You’re fantastic.
can't wait to be saying party people while dancing(?) away for the next 2 months
incredible video, one of your best. the comedy, the research, the asurdity, the poetic inserts, everything is just always so so on point.
i love how you post so late at night, its so real of u
I LOVE THE FLEXATONE
not even halfway through the video and youve been able to retain my paper-thin attention span and make me giggle mindlessly. ro, your videos are getting better by the minute. you're a fucking genius
you are seriously the funniest creator on this site, every single joke is top notch and the delivery is insane
The robot disguised as a 7/11 employee when I ask for cigarettes (he is a language model and cannot give advice or support on prohibited subjects)
This is an absolutely wild video - great job again ro!!!
Rose youre an amazing artist, you combine deep emotions and comedy so well its fucking incredible

we need a ro ramdin subliminal messaging live feed
I never feel less human than in the midst of patreon crawl
The JPM (jokes per minute) reading on this one is insane
re: dead internet theory, it's so much worse than bots. i've worked in SEO on and off when I needed to make money. those chicken soup recipes that tell you how the cook's grandma used to wrangle chickens and make them beak-joust to avoid the crockpot? yeah, real people have to write those. there are perhaps millions of people engaged in a sisyphean treadmill of writing slop content to pay their bills. people writing content to make search bots pick it up, with keywords determined by other bots and inserted in such a way as to appear human, in a system where humans exist only as the middleman between other robots.
Love the title cards in this video! Broke up the sections and gave a cool vaporwave aesthetic to the whole experience. As always, the direct to camera voiceover near the end gives an authenticity to your vids that I always come back for. Thanks Ro!
I have to be honest: your videos are funny and insightful. Sorry if this is hard critique to take but I had to say it.
The ending to this is so beautiful, I've never listened to a youtube video before and had the thought that I should be reading it in a book. Feels like part of an essay collection.
