How I Turned Pro in Golf ⛳️ My Dos & Don’ts

  • Although I had what I'd consider a very successful golf career, I made a ton of mistakes when I went pro and I want to help you or your kids to NOT make the same mistakes I did. Here's what I learned from playing professional golf, and if you're interested in a specific topic, I got you covered below.
    1. Junior golf rankings (3:21)
    2. Seeking the “perfect” swing (5:31)
    3. You’re going to fail (8:16)
    4. Top colleges don’t always matter (11:16)
    5. Preparation for after college golf (16:13)
    6. Sports psychology vs. therapy (20:58)
    7. What life on tour is really like (23:56)

Much respect for your openness and honesty. It seems to me that this journey was meant to happen to bring you to this point, your time is now. The U tube world was meant for you, to help improve the golf of the average club golfer is the biggest market of all. So what if maybe under pressure you didn’t perform as well as you could have done. This is what you were meant to do, to entertain and to help others, this is where your skill lies, there will be very good golfers who will not be nearly as personable in front of the camera. Don’t think for one minute there was something lacking in you, you have found your own path, be proud of what you are doing now, of course you were born to do this.❤

You made a great point and one im glad I was taught young. My grandpa taught me the game from the age of 4. And he always kept it fun. He would take my sister and i to the course and whether we touched a club or not, we would chase the cart, and watch him play, and just have a great time. And that lead to me wanting to be at the golf course a lot. And by the age of 6-7 I was playing 4-5 times a week, and the other great tip you brought up, he told me to hit it as far as I could, and that we would get accurate when I got older. I was carrying it 205 yards at 9, swinging 116 mph at 16, but by that time I had taken a few lessons and was a fairly decent player. Im a +1.5 handicap now and grateful to a wise grandpa who had amazing advice and was my eyes on the golf course.

So, very interesting video...one refrain was the "I wish I knew..." business. I kept thinking, But how could you have known. When we're kids, we're kids, and all that implies...we can't know what we know after going through the things that make us grow up. You have all this acquired knowledge and you are sharing it. That's what we're supposed to do. So, I get the regret. But hopefully it's balanced with a gratitude for the knowledge gained and a little appreciation for the way you are currently handling yourself. There was an unmentioned theme I took away from this...That the priority in life isn't really to be a great golfer, but rather to be a well rounded human being who also golfs. Sometimes, professionally. I've often thought about Tiger, and how things have gone for him. How his journey was shaped by becoming the best golfer in the world, but perhaps ignoring some of the things essential to his development as a human being. A well roundedness he missed out on with the incredible focus on golf but perhaps not so much focus on what a human being needs to actually thrive. I wonder if one can be truly "the greatest" and still also be a well rounded human being. Perhaps, but I'm guessing it's rare. Well, of course it is. Any how, I guess the question is...How do you define success now in your life? The world is spinning. The months and the years fly by. What's it all about now...I look forward to you covering this in a future video. Perhaps you and Bryson could sit down and discuss your thoughts on the well rounded human being.

I start golfing 3 years ago and is the hardest game I ever try, I payed almost every men’s sport, karate, soccer, football, basketball, mountain and road bike, swimming but golf I was skeptical, till I am trying, and I been seen your videos and now this tutorial for parents pushing their sons, golf it’s a nightmare for me, now por kids, ay ya yaiii, I have 1 daughter 16, 2 boys a 13 and 14, I tuck them a couple of times and the like it the first hour then they start rushing me and we end up playing 9 instead of 18 they get frustrated or bored or I get mad when the y hammer a put 😂. But at the end honestly you set it all girl, I like what did, and everything that you sad so parents can consider and also players that are just not gaining $, you know at the end the program wins more money that the players do and that’s not fare the system even turns almost everybody to endup broken.
    Thank you for sharing.
Hey by the way I am a 17.5 handicap but I expended so much trying to not be on the hundreds, not only money but time, I never payed for a couch, only by seeing UA-camrs. Keep making videos, and if you come back to try, I wish you luck but maybe will be good also another league, why don’t make a UA-cam league like LIV golf and all UA-camrs can now share money to not only the best players but at least pay for their trips hotels and subscriptions to the tournament or something even, I think it will have more spectators and will have much players.

Informative, not just for golf but all sports. Parents push and push and try to live their dreams thru their kids and it usually will not work. Take time off from each sport, no need to play 365, 24/7, play different sports and take a xmas break from all sports. If you are good enough in a particular sport you will be noticed, just look at rosters of teams and see where some of these kids come from. Listen to yourself and find a good listener, not a your problem solver.
