  • If you plan on visiting the Queen City in the near future, parking will be an important detail you should consider. Parking is quirky, but most certainly attainable if you know the ins and outs.
Parking overnight is available in Staunton City at a current rate of $7.50/day. You will, however, need to obtain an overnight parking permit. To accomplish this, simply visit the City Manager's office (Mon-Fri 8-5) at:
    City Hall, 3rd Floor
    116 W. Beverley Street
    Staunton, VA 24401
    Phone- 540.332.3812
    OR
You can also purchase an overnight permit at the Staunton Visitor's Center (Mon-Sunday) at:
    35 S. New Street
    Staunton, VA 24401
    Phone- 540.332.3971
A complete overview of parking rules and regulations can be found on the City of Staunton parking website here www.ci.staunto...

Great video! It’s so surprising how cheap parking is there!

Yes! Compared to bigger U.S. cities, parking in smaller towns is truly value.

so three things from a staunton local
    1. The 2 hour parking is free after 3pm not 5pm. This is because after two hours after 3pm it will be 5pm therefore free parking starting at 3pm.
2.There are many 2 hour parking spots all around downtown not just beverly street.
    3. Beverly Street is blocked off during tourist season. Not all year around. Last week of tourist season was the last weekend of november for small business Saturday.
Take my advice and talk to a local.

Thanks for watching! I am also a Staunton local. Technically you are correct, free parking starts at 3pm because it will be 5pm by the two hour limit. I plan to create another video in the future highlighting side street parking so thank you for the idea. And I realize after I uploaded this video I should've mentioned the street blockage was specifically for the main tourist season. Thanks for the feedback.

For those who have mobility issues and a handicapped license plate or placard, parking in the Wharf parking lot is free. Just tell the attendant when you leave.

Very informative video. Could you have information on where to stay in within the community during special events? Does the Staunton Visitor Center have a phone number to contact? I did not see one on the website. Thank you 😊

This is Woodrow Park (Sears Hill). You can access this overlook by walking up Sears Bridge-- which is directly next (on right side) to the old Pullman Restaurant at the train station.
