    I’d like to know how long those bars have been ridden since R&D. Seems like a great idea that could go shockingly wrong very quickly for a traveling rider.

    So, you cannot choose stem length with bar width. I read elsewhere that there are almost no options on stem lengths-100mm on M frame end/110mm on L and XL frame full stop/120mm on 2XL that is all- and the longer the stem the wider the bars!? Yuck.
    Also, you cannot swap out wheels. What if I want the DT 1100 on the slightly lower end Ultegra di and I am willing to pay the difference? Nope, only 1400. What if I want the same priced 80mm 1400arc instead of the 62mm 1400arc? Nope. Why???

      I was in touch with the CS center today to ask if I can order the Aeroad 7.0 (that comes with their standard handlebar) with size 390mm handlebar. The answer was NO.
      Then I asked i can choose the 32-11 105 cassette instead of the 28-11. Again, it was a NO.
      I kind of get that they might not stock the cassette and be able to charge them on demand BUT not being able to choose the size of a component they manufacture is bizarre..

    Great bike... Even greater brand. But one reason that will turn MANY riders away from possibly buying this bike will be the fact that awesome integration has left very very little adjustability. Eg 15mm max stem height??? 80% of everyday riders who enjoy speed will NOT like the slammed idea. Slammed with no relaxed possibilities.

  • @tornagawn

    • @404nobrakes
      @404nobrakes 4 роки тому +2

      Tyle.s probably the venge. But that’s no longer on the market. The Madone is a bit too heavy but it would be my pick for flatter/rougher roads. The Scott Foil is a good balanced pick. The SystemSix, Cervelo S5 and the Aeroad are all probably on a par with each other.

    • @tyle.s9084

      Saurabh Kulkarni The Scott Foil is a bit heavy too. I personally like the Addict RC very much (although not marketed) as the Aero bike. But thanks for the nice ideas

    How accurate is Canyon regarding frame size ? I’m 6 feet tall with 34 inseam and it’s suggesting a MEDIUM ?????

    • @craigpavia2169
      @craigpavia2169 4 роки тому +2

      They are doing the right thing! Sizing down gives the rider more flexibility while keeping the bike light and stiff. An added bonus is when you go to sell it the market is much larger for 52-54cm(M) bikes.

      Craig Pavia thank you. I’m considering getting the CF SLX with SRAM but I want to make sure before I make such a major purchase. Like the white & black paint scheme. Maybe Canyon can built it with SRAM instead of DI2

      179cm is average height in germany now. most pro riders are average 180cm so you are around the average with ~183cm. frame has a slight slope and comes in 53.3cm. if classical measured and build as a steelframe, seat tube would be ~55-56cm on the M as well. the default size for decades on bike frames.
      but to be fair canyon goes rather large on their frame billings compared to others.
      here is the SLX SRAM version

    Is the word "millimeter" so difficult to say? Why not use it and stop being inaccurate. A "mil" is a separate unit of length, not an abbreviation for millimeter.

    This guy claims there is an integrated tire lever on the bike. Or is he talking about the through-axle lever??? A tire lever is a tool used to unmount tires from rims.

    I would have thought stem adjustability is more important than bar width, and functionally limiting the stack height isn't improving or making it's adjustment more flexible.

    • @Altimis
      @Altimis 4 роки тому +1

      I am from Track cycling, bar width is very important fine tunes for rider. If you don't care about going fast and aerodynamic, you can just use any bar width you comfortable with. Able to adjust the bar width is very good IMO. You want wider bar width if you planned to climbs a lot, you want all leverage you want. You want narrower if you doing sprint or TT events, more narrow, more aero gains and its BIG gains. Going narrower by 1-2 cm can save you potentially 10-20 watts because you became smaller in headwind.
      Bonus: don't narrower bar uncomfortable? nopeeeee. I will tell you, narrow bar will feel weird at first rides. But after 2-3 rides, you feel super normal and probably feel better actually. Your shoulder and elbow easier bends on narrow compare to wide bar. If you loved to ride leaning forward (drop position or aero position), you will love narrow bar.
      But as I mentioned above, if you don't care aero fast so its not matter.

  • @AR-lz2br

    Funny when in big group rides you see cyclists with the most expensive aero bikes with the most expensive aero wheels but they're dropped by someone like me with a non-aero aluminum CAAD10 Cannondale bike with Campagnolo Zonda wheels (not aero at all). Don't be delusional guys... train smarter and loose weight.

    • @cyclingmilan
      @cyclingmilan 4 роки тому +2

      Its true, I also enjoyed dropping people with expensive aero bikes on my normal cheapish bike for years :) But now I drop them even faster on an aero bike myself. Let them ride the bike they want. If you had loads of money on your bank account just sitting there, why would you still ride your caad10, which bike would you ride if budget was no concern?

    • @floridrummer88
      @floridrummer88 4 роки тому

      @@cyclingmilan it would also be a shame if only pro riders could enjoy expensive bikes and their technology..who is really that fast to "deserve" it?! There will be always someone faster..

    Last time Canyon tried something new with their handlebar, it was called the Hover bar and I immediately puked when I saw it. Now this new adjustable and integrated handlebar seems amazing, congratulations Canyon. The only downside is that Canyon still doesn't ship bikes to Canada.
