Rapidly becoming one of my favorite podcasts on the internets. Some of my others, they mostly complain and whine. Yours, I smile from ear to ear, start to finish. So relaxing to watch, and very informative as well. Keep going you two.
Thank you so much!! We take that as such an honor. We appreciate you so much! - Melody
This sky looked so beautiful. Such a lovely trip. Thanks so much.
Great video. Thanks for sharing and giving us the information about the area and places y'all passed.
Great video thank you Shane and Melody. I always enjoy all the good information from you both.
Thanks, Robin!
Love your channel...the interaction between you two is so real and refreshing. I really love your tours. (Can Melody get any prettier) ? What a great couple...keep up the excellent work guys...
Love your channel and thanks for this! My whole family is from that area... Dad's side from Glade, Mom's side from Blackwell's Chapel near Saltville. You showed a lot of familiar sites in your video. My mom graduated from Patrick Henry HS. My grandparents went to Glade Spring Presbyterian Church. I live in SE TN now but get up there whenever I can.
I’ve said Glade Springs for over 60 years. Bought my first home there. Great little town tucked away from the main stream. Thanks for the video ☮️
Oh that’s awesome! Seems like a great, peaceful place to live! - Melody
First, let me say how much I enjoyed this video about Glade Spring. Thank you so much Shane and Melody for this most informative video. Beautiful mountain scenery. I was in WV yesterday and today and thought about you both. Stay safe sweet people.

Just outside of Glade, toward Saltville, there is a very tiny community called Seven Springs, but Glade is named after a single spring!
Surber & Son is an altogether "Junk' store. Tony will talk fishing with ya all day long!
The little yellow building is one of the cheapest places to get propane filled, the guy would have come out if youd sat there a few minutes just to talk to you or fill your tank.
Wish I knew more to tell you about the older houses.
The massive brick house across from the salt trail is the old Porterfield house! Still in the family, too, I believe.
Thanks a ton for all the info, that was great to read
My father is from glade. I have so many memories there. The 5 and dime store in the square was so fun late 60’s /early 70’s
Love you guys! Plus your hair looks good too Melody. 😎
I went by the Glade Spring Exit on I81 many times. Got off on US11 a few times, but even US11 goes around the town, so I never actually drove through the Glade Spring downtown. Now I have seen another town in a pretty area! I technically spent some nights in Glade Spring, as the Petro has a Glade Spring address. There was a cool old farm just south and west of the Petro, I think facing US11. There was was of those urban landfill storage units built beside it, which gave me access to take some pictures of the old barns. There was a 2 story house, foursquare if I remember. There was also a big iron pot set in a brick base and covered with a roof. I wondered if it was where they did laundry, or where they scalded hogs, or maybe both? I wonder if it is still there, or if it has given way to "progress"?
Love you guys. Keep up the good work❤
As always a great video and fun to watch. Shane, Just call her Giggles or Oh Giggling One, lol. I think that will keep her straight. You guys might consider packing an ice chest and sandwiches or cole cuts to make them. In case you can't get to a restaurant. Plus it would be cheaper. Don't you guys ever worry about having car trouble on the back roads after dark? I truly hope you never do. Have you ever done a video on the town where The Statler Brothers Grew up? (I can't think of the name of it.) I hope you guys made it home safe. Stay well & safe out there.
Enjoyed this ! Beautiful area ! The town is very cute .....alot of history .....the drive down to the stone house was very beautiful.....thanks, stay safe always....🙏❤
When I was a boy in 1947 a Mr. Ike Huff lived in that stone house
Very cool to know a little history behind it! Thank you! - Melody
Great Job, really enjoyed this video!!
Just so y’all know I love y’all guys videos
Thank you so much, Mike, that comment made our day
Don't do that!!! Her smile keeps me coming back😛 Keep up the great work guys.
Nice trip
My grandmother Counts lived I Glade. Used to visit her often on Sunday afternoons. This was in the mid 1960s. If you turn up that street beside the beautiful church her house was the first on the left. It has been well taken care of though the years. Used to have a good sized rail yard for trains. Probably cuz of Olin chemical in nearby Saltville
You two kept me in the dark ... enjoy as always love to both.

I love this town !! Gorgeous country :) thanks to both of you !! Happy 4th of July!!!!!!
Would love to see yall do one on Abingdon and maybe even whites mill or John Douglas wayside. Just an idea! Really like your work.
Most of those are in the works. I did one on John Douglas Wayside on my old Appalachian Project channel but overdue to do them on this channel. Thanks for the suggestions, we appreciate them.
How often have we heard people say (or maybe said it ourselves) that they wish they could go back in time and see one of these pretty small towns when it was in its prime? I think Glade Spring is that little time-travel place. So perfectly maintained! You have to wonder who the mayor and/or city council people are who can keep a town looking so pristine! And the fact that it's surrounded by beautiful countryside surely doesn't hurt either.
Shane, you are a perfectly fine tee-shirt model. You wear your Dante shirt well. And Melody, Miss Appasassafrassalachia, I'm happy to see that you have yet to be left by the side of the road or to require emergency restorative dental surgery. Your videos get better and better.
Thank you so much! Hahaha you are so right there! Glade Spring is a sweet little town too for sure! - Melody
Foster Falls is interesting and a lot of history but there is some walking involved though.
That’s my home!
We have a Pocahontas, Ms and it is TINY. I love that little town!
Aw that’s awesome! I’d love to see it! - Melody
Just and FYI on "Indian Olympics" I used to live in Montana near a reservation, they still hold what they now call the Indian Games I believe it is a yearly event and seems to held at a different location mostly every year on a different reservation in America and I know the Canadian First nations people compete as well. I am not an expert by no means on this just a tad bit of knowledge from living in the area they where held. I know Basketball is a huge on all reservations and some great ball players that could def play at a higher level, in my opinion sadly not many head to colleges. There was one who was from Idaho and played at Idaho State Univ in early 80s and ended up playing all over professionally. Sorry I can not recall his name but he played at least 8 years mostly in Europe.
In the UK we call those clouds 'Mackerel clouds' because they look like the pattern of the fishes scales.
Looks like chemtrails, here in western n.c. we get sprayed most days, great video, Thank you
Geo engineering going on unfortunately everywhere
i live next door in bristol va
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I love y’all
Thanks, Mike! 😂
So when you all going to come back to Morgan county?
We have a Cold Spring, down in Cape May County, and it drives me crazy when people call in Cold Springs.
I loved that red brick church near the beginning of the video. We have a lot of schools here in NJ that are about 100 years old, give or take. But they drive me crazy, because I have to wait till a Saturday or Sunday to get pictures of them, so that people don't call the police on me. One time, a year or two ago, I was taking a picture of a historic one-room school house (not in use as a school), and there was a modern school across the street, with children in it. I had my back to that school the whole time, but someone called the police on me. So a police officer questioned me. But he was very cool. He even started telling me about the historic church that was next to the old one-room school. Very nice guy.
Anyway, Glade Spring is a lot more spread out than I would have expected. Beautiful place though.
You're both kind of sassy. Sassappalachians :)
🤣🤣😂😂 guilty
Those clouds are manufactured by microwave frequencies ,not natural, Thank ya"ll for another beautiful video.
Absolutely EMF and Geo engineering going on
Need that Dante shirt but not seeing it under merchandise. Otherwise I love you guys and watch all the time 😉 Happy 4th to you both🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😎

We actually went early right at opening! There was people coming in as we left. They seem to have a good crowd in the evenings to do the maze with flashlights but we didn’t think that would be best with the little one! - Melody
Shane! You are such a blessed man to have such a beautiful wife!!!
Based on the intro, you should have started the tour at Wendy's - yum yum
