    Why SpaceX Starlink is more important than you think!
    In your opinion, what defines the best satellite system?
    Is giving you an Internet speed fast enough to watch movies or play games vital in your rating?
    If so, a lot of satellite systems can do simply that.
    In fact, the best satellite system needs to do more than allow you to stream movies and play online games
    It has to bring speedy access to every corner of the globe, changing the way we communicate and interact with the outside world, and most importantly: consistently providing connection in any type of situation or environment.
    These are the challenges with most network systems to date. However, there is one satellite system that is gradually achieving these prerequisites.
    That would be SpaceX's Starlink satellite constellation.
    There are many questions like “how did Starlink achieve those difficult goals” or “how has our world changed since Starlink appeared?”
    I believe its influence and significance will definitely leave you breathless, as it is so much more than you think.
    Let’s find out more about this amazing phenomenon happening in our starry skies in today’s episode of Great SpaceX!

    I can say that Starlink is absolutely freaking awesome... I've been a customer for nearly 3 years now.. I was part of the beta test in my area.. since then, there's been very few issues with the service... Love it...

      Mars does not have a system that we need to connect bases to. Okay
      The base stations are what connects Starlink to the Pre-Existing world wide wed (www).
      Starlink around Mars will be the Mars wide web (mww) connecting the devices to each other.
      They have already tested Starlink users to Starlink users connection.
      This is what keeps officials in certain countries that limit web access up at night.

    The huge number of satellites now in orbit is screwing with astronomy, the junk is also building up and we're getting closer to the orbital scene from "WALL-E". If something gets hit, the pieces become more shrapnel that can damage other satellites and spacecraft. If anything, we need to be working on cleaning up all of the junk in orbit in a big way.

    • @Inertia888
      @Inertia888 28 днів тому

      We *do* need to clean up LEO, and I am all for either a mandate to clean your own trash, or some very strong disincentive, for anyone who leaves junk in orbit, after time of life has expired. But we also benefit from more satellites, _if_ we are responsible with it. I think there needs to be a balance between these two sides of our collective goals. I do believe that Starlink is programmed to slow its speed, and burn up in the atmosphere, if it goes too far outside its intended orbit, and at end of life. You may disagree with the goal of the company, and I can respect that, but Starlink deserves credit for this, at least. With auto-self-delete, other groups launching satellites, should be following suit.

    • @ronaldlebeck9577
      @ronaldlebeck9577 28 днів тому

      @@Inertia888 Maybe what we need is a salvage company with a craft that can collect broken/dead/defunct/obsolete satellites and junk and then bring it back down so parts and materials can be reused, recycled, or repurposed instead of just burning up.🤔🚚

    Starlink can be surpassed and made impotent over a 5 year span... on the ground. And the technology to do it has existed for over 30 years. Further, it can be rolled out without any government having anything to say about it. The cost? Relatively zero. HINT: UWB/ATM.

    • @pauldean7690
      @pauldean7690 27 днів тому

      If it has been around for 30 years then why isn't the dominant player instead of a pipe dream. Just like nuclear fusion, always feasible in five years and they been saying this for the last 40 years.

    • @toddmarshall7573
      @toddmarshall7573 27 днів тому

      @@pauldean7690 Try this thought experiment. Assume the UWB/ATM technology had been employed for the last 30 years instead of the "backbone" maintained by the carriers ... and the connection orientation instead of the broadcast... and the mesh. Now bring in what we've been doing for the last 30 years as the challenging technology. Compare and contrast. This technique eliminates the FUD and inertia of ingrained solutions. Try it. You'll like it.

    My biggest question is this: when the satellites have run their useful life, how easy is it to de-orbit them so we don't leave a shitload of space junk in that orbit? I figure if they can de-orbit at the end of their lives they would just totally burn up on reentry, so no worries there.
