- Health Secretary Victoria Atkins says she has had "enough" of a "culture of secrecy and ideology" around gender care for children.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph, she criticised NHS England practitioners, in response to a landmark review into gender care practices.
The Cass review said children had been "let down" by a lack of research on the use of puberty blockers and it called for gender services to match the standards of other NHS care.
The paediatrician behind Wednesday's report, Dr Hilary Cass, said clinicians were also affected by the "toxicity" of public debate around transgender identities.

I think we can all agree that biologically there are differences. But why does that mean someone can't feel they are trapped in the wrong body? Shouldn't they be allowed to live their life how they wish without prejudice?

I think this is what she is pointing to on both sides. She was completely lucid, very pleasant, and said nothing that was confrontational or controversial. She just expressed herself, after quite frankly Julia went off on one. There are many extremists in the trans community on the left, and certainly extremes on the right. Some issues you have to draw boundaries on, but where you can meet in the middle, if we're aiming for a decent society, peaceful and prosperous society, we must.
I mean as things go, this person was pretty reasonable tbh. If you want to pretend to be a women and don't get bent out of shape if people won't carry on the pretence and you don't want special privileges or access to female spaces... then go for it. It's when they demand a falsehood to be true and the indoctrination of kids that I have an issue with.

I was a tomboy in the 70s played football and cricket wanted to join the army. Thankfully my mum spoke truth over me and said God made you a girl get on with it. No pandering I was angry at the time but so happy she loved me enough to be truthful. Most kids go through something weird. I’m happily married to a man and we have 4 children if that had of been me now I would have people telling me yes be a boy here drugs. It would have ruined my life. Protect children if adults want to dress the opposite sex then just get on with it stop confusing kids.

The reality for those with sexual dysphoria is undeniably disturbing, but to rehabilitate them should not require those without this affliction to deny the basis of their biological reality & experience.
I don’t think you mean biological reality. Objectively, biological reality cannot be changed by surgery or wearing make-up. And if it was only about THEIR experience why do they insist upon certain words and behaviour from others who do not share the delusion.
Nobody is denying their reality or experience. Alcoholism is a terrible disease that is very often caused by people's trauma. It doesn't mean we should allow an alcoholic to drive and risk others safety so we don't hurt their feelings.
It must be a very difficult experience to think you are the wrong gender but it doesn't mean your difficult experience should affect other people's lives negatively.
A woman shouldn't have to see a penis in the changing rooms because it's attached to a man who's got problem with accepting who they truly are.

My main issue with this whole trans thing is the willing lack of linguistic accuracy and honesty. A biological man who wants to live as a woman is not a trans woman, he is a trans man ie a man who is trans. The insistence on twisting the definition of week know and week used words to suit their narrative is simply dishonest and unacceptable.

I’ll never understand why those of us who will never experience this have the most to say. I don’t know why we feel that we need to make this debate about us. We should say less and listen more and also be grateful that we haven’t faced the difficulties Trans people do. I stand by them and wish them well.
I was a too tall too skinny girl with ugly teeth and also prayed every night to look different. These feelings are not exclusive to trans. I’ve still got ugly teeth unfortunately but I don’t think the trans ‘community’ would be interested in my feelings but I’m expected to care about theirs .

Comedy requires the ability to be funny. Sports require the ability to be athletic. Dressing up, being loud and being a victim gets plenty of attention while requiring no skills or effort and is possible from anyone. So it's easy.
Unfortunately the attention doesn't last long before people get bored and sick of it so the behaviour has to get more extreme to attract people's focus.

I am 'trans stature".
You may think I am average height at 6 foot, but I feel that I am a 'little person' who was born in the wrong body and I am really only 4 foot 3.
Now I demand that you must affirm my feelings and give me all the same disability assistance that any other little person is entitled to get.

I wouldn't say ashamed as a gay man because for a long time many of us have seen and denounced the toxicity of the LGBT community and hence why a lot of us don't have anything to do with the LGBT community and instead mix with like minded individuals in multiple groups.
A lot of us have been waiting for the rest of society to wake up as the community has needed a well deserved spanking for a long time as what used to be a movement for equal rights has become a struggle to remain relevant and feel special which no one is.
Its the community who needs to learn how to mix with other groups as opposed to the current and narcissistic approach of it being all about them - their feelings are not the only feelings that matter and it's time they learnt it's about more than just them - which in this instance has come about due to the fundamental lack of honesty and care trans activists and their supporters have given to other groups which has led to vulnerable children being harmed.
Where does a person join the LGBTARTHSTE+-Q community? I have yet to see anywhere..
