Itachi is basically the Snape of the franchise. Both were showcased as villains and everyone disliked them both till they started showing their true colors and eventually become the pivotal point of the said story.

I'm still convinced that healthy Itachi claps almost anyone without planning and if he has time to plan something it's over. Also he has to be one of the fastest ninja ever seeing as he can summon Susano in the time it takes lightning to strike him when fighting Sasuke and can weave signs with one hand, boy was busted strong.
