Oh wow, it must have been recent. We were just at that mall a few weeks ago. However I wasn't actively searching for abandoned places. Just took a ride to go to that mall and have a nice day with Kayla. Next time we're out that way, I'll check it out.
It's been closed at least almost 2 years. it was closed when I moved back to the area. Its not surprising you didnt notice the way it sits in a hole like it does. I always thought that was the weirdest place to build anything.
They closed due to staffing issues. Couldn’t keep anyone. I knew the whole crew and the manager on a personal level. They were great but couldn’t stand the manager, so they left. It never was the same after that - they had people driving from Canton to help open the store
I've only ever seen one or so abandoned ihops ever and they were locations I had passed while on the highway and couldn't do because of other commitments. But they are rare to see closed!
Hey @Wallibe26 , Are you guys going to check out the Willow Creek PA - Kmart closing ?????? / there another UA-cam channel did this place. - his channel is Jermey’s retail exploration. - he is school kid
We have three IHOP locations here in Columbia, SC and they all closed back in may of 2019 due to Covid and no sales and not being able to pay the franchise Fee. Even the location downtown by the college that has been here somewhere around 45 to 50 years. In the past couple months ours in Lexington has reopened but i'm not sure if its the same owner or not. I got a to go order last week and there are a lot of things they told me they no longer had. I couldn't even get salsa for my big steak omlette. No powder sugar or whip cream for my chocolate chip pancakes. At least its back open though
late, my closest one is in huber heights, ohio. it used to be next to max & erma’s but shut down but for some reason moved into max & erma’s building about a year and half ago
I live in Kansas City where at least 2 Ihops have closed , I used to work at a store on 40 Highway and that store was closed up & demolished ( no sign of it anymore ) and another 1 in the North of the River area 1 vacant store ( Ihop) it probably closed after 2020...so I don't think that it's all that unusual ...
I was there right before the pandemic early winter 2020. The service was very bad there. Long and the waiters didn't seem to care. Can you do a video of the big boy near this location? I remember going there when I was very little.
@@WallieB26 it's definitely worth the visit, it closed in 2015 due to a slight incident if you would rather read up on it because I would rather not really stated on UA-cam. Basically someone died in there and that caused the place to close. But that place has really good label scars. I did a video on it back in November and the label stars on it are really sharp. It's near the Severance Town Center Walmart
Bruh what!? I LICE in Streetsboro and that place wasn’t even three years old! It’s outside still looks good as new so I’ve always assumed it’s been open!

I went to this IHOP shortly after it opened, and they had an all you could eat pancakes special going on !!! The location was not good. Off the main road up on a hill.
Well I can see some restaurants closing due to location. Some areas get new restaurants in and people just choose those over others. Depends on competition a bit.
Thank you! I filmed back in Texas last year. I believe I put that video up in September or October. Next time we are near an abandoned one, I'll obviously film it. We don't nor ever had Jack In The Box in my area nor anywhere near us.

My closes Ihop about 1 hour away closed a week ago. saying “We greatly appreciate our neighbors’ patronage and support,” the sign said. Under the note was the name Jay Jordan, owner, IHOP restaurants, Inland Northwest. On IHOP's Facebook page, Jorden wrote this on Monday night: "While it is difficult to close our doors on 4th Street, we are very glad that a majority of our teammates will remain with our company at other locations. Thank you, again. We hope to see you soon!" sincerely IHOP Manager.
Hi Walkie. I hope you will get to come to Enid oklahoma and film the dead oakwood mall and the closed pizza hut in the parking lot. Also across the street is a closed united supermarket and part of an old kmart that has not been made into another store. To the west by Walmart is an old wendy's the closed cause a new one was built east of it. And at the corner of Owen k and cleveland is a closed store I can't think of the name of right now
Thank you for all the tips! I'd love to try and take a trip there to check that all out. Next time we're in Texas, if we have the chance to take a day trip to the area, I'd love to check everything out especially the mall.

My friends and I were regulars at my neighborhood IHOP in Chicago back in the 90s It had that blue slanted roof real old school but it went out of business in the last 5 years I used to have photos of it from 2017. And you're right pretty bad service but pretty good food
That's a shame it closed and I'm sorry that the service wasn't so great. Seems to be common. The 2 in the Pittsburgh area that I have gone to in the past didn't have the greatest service either. Especially the one closer to me in McCandless... that service was awful one night. We were one of two couples there that night and the server was taking care of both. She hardly ever to be seen the entire time. She was worried about hanging out outside smoking cigarettes. That was the last time I went to that location. Which was a shame... the food wasn't all that bad.
@@WallieB26 I was an assistant manager there for a time. This store opened in December 2017, closed in December 2020. Brand new building. Mismanagement from the top down doomed this store. The owners were based in Texas, they have too many stores, were focused more on expansion than maintaining what they already had, and as the saying goes, "$hit rolls downhill."
