To all of you who hate on my choice of MX Browns. It's not fun to read that when I did something nice and wholesome for my sister and chose an option that she would actually use and enjoy. It's her first mechanical keyboard. To her, it probably feels like it's a bad keyboard now just because of all these comments. If you feel that way, go ahead and feel that way. But it basically feels like collective bullying at this point.
Imo, MX Browns are good for people just starting with mechs, don't know what people are complaining about. Enjoyed your video!
tbh ltt found that most people preferred them over other switches when they have no good basis for other kinds of mechanical switch, so they should be fine

Mainly people say the tactile bump is too small to feel while typing, so they prefer either tactile switches with larger bumps, or linear switches which are smoother without the bump at all
@@systope4762 the complain people have about browns is that the tactile bump is too small and not noticeable while gaming/typing, which is why people choose any other Tactiles with more noticeable bumps or Linears over the Cherry browns
Holy crap I didn’t think I’d see Mabinogi mentioned in a video ever. That is my favorite mmo and I wish it made a return or had a remake with visual updates. It’s had the best gameplay and progression to me. Amazing keyboard build as well!

Isn't it funny to try and explain something that you put a lot of thought and effort into to make sure it meets somebody's needs, for them to kinda just gloss over it, like your "switches have a little bump" message, simply cause they have no idea or really care as much about it as somebody with your experience. 😂
And I genuinely don't get why there is hate for browns because it's not like they've ever been over hyped to warrant the backlash. I modded the crap out of my first mech for practice, logi g710+, and it is currently the most satisfying board I have to type on. My own fault for not modding the others yet, but damn those browns feel nice.

I know i’m very late, but great keyboard! Don’t care about what people say about the cherry mx browns, IMO they are great switches especially for ur sister because she never used a mechanical keyboard. All that matters is that u put the time and effort for this which i love. I’m pretty sure ur sister was very happy with what u made her.

@@tobotti330 well when I felt browns for the first time I had no expectations because I was a literal noob and knew nothing. I literally didn’t know the difference between the 3 types of switches. I thought it was really nice… why. My point is I think the sister couldn’t choose what she wanted (correct me if I’m wrong I haven’t watched this video in a long time) so nice sister just wanted her to decide easier. And either way if she doesn’t like it she can probably just lube them so the bump literally disappears or can ask very nice sister for reds or something nicer later.
I love supporting my family especially when it comes to gaming, as my 2 brothers and I love gaming we help each other and pay back to another!

Very nice gesture Betty. Time is more valuable than money, and you gave a bunch of it to your sister. Kudos.
No criticism here of MX brown; a solidly safe choice and generally the right choice for someone new to mechanical keyboards. Somewhere in the middle, tactility and sound wise for MX mount switches. Now she can use it for a while and eventually tell you which direction she'd like to go on the next one! And that next one... maybe a mix of switches? I don't game on my computers, but I do mix switches. On my current daily driver, Kailh Box Pink on all the alphas and some other keys, Kailh Box White on the keys that require deliberate motion (nav keys, function keys, etc.). I can imagine that gamers who also use their keyboard for work/school/etc. would find it useful to have linears on some keys but might like clicky on all the alpha keys.

I started on Cherry MX Brown and I went around a lot of switches but honestly I came back to MX Browns and they are honestly my favorite. I know people say they are not very tactile but I love how they are almost a hybrid of linear and tactile but are still tactile enough to prevent me from bottoming out. The real thing that made them work for me is a good solid key board with really nice keycaps. bad caps and a bad board can make any switch surprisingly unpleasant

I'm considering getting my first mechanical keyboard, so I don't understand the hate towards MX Browns. It's what I am thinking of getting. I want one because I was at my stepbrother's and he had a no-longer-working old Mac (I don't remember which one, but very old, relatively), and I just started pretending to type on the keyboard, and it felt amazing. I know nothing about it, but I liked the speed at which I was able to type, which I think came from not having to bottom out like I do on a laptop keyboard. I feel like I'd want some extra haptic feedback, so I know where the actuation actually is, but would get annoyed by Blues. Why, then, is there such hate on Browns?
This vid reminded me so much of me and my brother. I’m also in Texas and my brother is in the northeast as well. Still trying to convince him of the value of a custom keyboard.

Hey I had a question on me for a while.
I have a hp gk320 rgb keyboard, and It doesn't have a desktop software to control the rgb. (The rgb is controlled by the board itself, it has presets n stuff.)
Is there a software that works for these keyboards? is there a way to control the the rgb of this keyboard from my pc?

Old man talk incoming: I remember the good ol' days back in 2011 when everybody loved MX Browns. I had a Filco Majestouch Ninja that had Browns and I loved that thing. Over the years I've downgraded several times and now in 2021, I'm just rocking an RK61 with RK Reds and quite content with being poverty linear gang. lmao.
Right!? It was just a decade ago that the ONLY keys you could get were pre-installed and the choices were: cherry mx brown, blue, or red. That's it. Weird how this has exploded. I'm not complaining! It's just interesting. The internet has done nerds good.

I prefer browns over everything tbh, the tactile is nice and has some nice heft to them. I might try red speeds later on.
