Since I have so many Canadian Nickels (well - I have my fair share being in the states), I figured I would put my Canadian Nickel Mat to use and hunt though all of my Canadian Nickels to start filling up my Albums. It's been something I have wanted to do for quite some time - since I already have my Canadian Penny Album near complete and I am planning on doing a similar hunt for both my Canadian Dimes and Canadian Quarters as well! During this hunt, I take the time to look for several of the Rare and Valuable Canadian Nickels to familiarize myself with the different varieties that can be found. I also tried to make sure that the video was informative while still being as fun as I could make it. Hope you enjoyed the video and if so, let me know if you'd like to see even more Foreign coin hunts like this one. Keep hunting and good luck! They're still out there for us to find! I was so pumped to see this video in my feed. I just recently started collecting Canadian Nickels because of your channel. You are an inspiration to pick up a great new hobby.
A very nice change of pace. Showing some love to our neighbors to the north. Can't get mad at that. I love nickles of ALL kinds. Really like that Canadian nickle mat. Great video 👍
Right on, very cool Rob! Awesome stash of Nickels, and beauty job on filling up those albums.😀 Those 1981 and older are worth their weight in Nickel, and then some! Have only broken in my penny mat so far. Great vid!😀🍻🇨🇦
Just saying I've started watching about canaduan coins . Want to thank you cus so far I've enjoyed yours the best . I respect your honesty and knowledge. Love your demonstrations haven't seen anyone's video this thurel
Love Canadian coins. I also collect and have made some binders to hold them with 2x2 flips. It would be nice to see you do the dimes and quarters also. Thanks for sharing
Awesome hut RFT yes you should do the dimes wow i learned so much from that video that was so cool thank you very much for everything you do with the live stream and videos you rock brother
You mentioned in stream about Chase being notorious for foreigns. In about $35 of pennies from my local Chase I have a whole roll of Canadians including some 40s Georges. So...true in Michigan as well.
I liked this just to change it up. I turned in a bunch of grandpas silver Canadian coins for some rounds at my nlcs and always wondered if I got had. The guy kept asking me "so, where did you say you got these". it made me think I had something better there than I thought.
Love the change of pace Rob! Canadian coins are interesting because they have different varieties to look for versus our coins. Looking forward to the next video!
Great video. I really enjoyed it. I have so many Canadian nickels, pennies, dimes and quarters that I have just saved over the years, and done nothing with them. Living in NE we get Canadian coins all the time. My cousins in Maine say they are spent in Maine just as if they were U.S. coins. I suppose I should look through them for any errors and varieties. Thanks!
Well I've learned something new about Canadians thanks to you... I've got roughly ~15 or so pieces from up North in my collection but I really know nothing about them. My most interesting specimens are a centennial dime which I suspect to be silver, as well as a couple of older pennies. In paper currency I've got an old King George note. I have one single solitary Canadian nickel in the collection and if it's a year you need I'd be happy to send it to you, I'll have to dig it out and see what's what but I think it's too new for your books. As for the nickel you showed, whenever I see what looks like doubling, since I'm still a beginner I always simply err on the side of die deterioration, so that'd be my best guess. But even in such cases I think any coin that shows something like what you showed is interesting and worth keeping, even if it's not valuable and even if it's not even a catalogued error/variety. I have OCD (for real not an exaggeration lol) and I have to force myself to throw coins back or I'd keep almost all of them, because the longer I look at them under the glass the more I realize almost every coin is unique, and since losing my dad in July I find myself drawn into the world of coins because it's something he liked. Anyways thanks for the vid, they're always interesting. God bless.
Funny you launched this video. I lived in Canada for a year and still have a bunch of Canadian coins. I was going through them today to see if it was worth getting some folders for them. All those varieties though are making me cross eyed I have a hard enough time with the 1982 American pennies.
Both of the 1962’s you have are acceptable “double die” dates. The most-common doubling is on the 2. You should ALSO look for doubling on the upper leaves and “5 CENTS” as well
I've always thought Canadian coins were pretty cool. Trying to get into hunting some US pennies now, but I'll definitely be saving any Canadians I find!
Hey rob. Did you know that the 43 and 44 have morse code around the edge on the side with the date..... (41,42, and 45 are probably included in this too but i dont know for sure.
It's probably my favorite. Canadian nickels and pennies. Just can't get enough of them. Try your lcs' I get pennies and nickels for face. This is Minnesota though. I get a bunch once a month or so. Great hunt.
I noticed on your mat it states the 1936 Dot as a key date I'm pretty sure that should be the penny not the nickel. Regardless I loved your Canadian nickel hunt and being a Canadian nickels have always been my favorites. Hoping we will see a Canadian penny hunt one day!
You are right, the 1936 dot existe on the one 1 cent ( really rare, last sold 700 000 $ at a auction, sold a million before), on the 10 cent (also really rare, sold 87 000 at a auction) and on the 25 cent ( less rare but still really expensive about 20$ in G-4 and 6000$ in ms-64.
Great video. I finally picked up some Canadian Penny books a few weeks ago. I ended up with more duplicates than I thought I would but being in a border state (Washington) I’m constantly getting them in my change. So they are filling out nicely.
Might want to go through them again to find Hub Doubling. The best spot to look at is the back foot of the beaver. All 2006 nickles have massive hub doubling try comparing them to 2008s.
15:25 at this time I wanna say that I think the 1962 varieties are very common in any of the coins because I have three DD on the 1962 pennies but I might be mistaken on that. Happy hunting!!
Loved the video Rob really hope you do more. One thing I like to do is actually get 2 albums of each kind, yeah it means I have to get 2 of each coin but it allows me to show the face in one album and the obverse in the other and not worry about flipping them back and forth between the years.
So , late getting here , but I,m here now . I would LOVE a price list for all ll your merch . But would appreciate a vid of both Amer & CA quarter ( boards ? books? ) being filled . @@GreatWhiteNortherner do you find a lot of U.S. coins in Canadian rolls?
As an American, I’d find it very entertaining and enjoyable as well.
I AM a Canadian 1951 vintage, I very much enjoyed your show on Canadian Nickels and coins in general. Thank You very much.

that doubled 1964 Canadian 5 cent is AWESOME! i love it
A very nice change of pace. Showing some love to our neighbors to the north. Can't get mad at that. I love nickles of ALL kinds. Really like that Canadian nickle mat. Great video 👍
The Canadian nickel video was very interesting. I would vote more. Thanks for what you do. My son and I enjoy watching your videos together.

Fun video! Nothing like watching an album get filled out... even when it's not mine.
I love the 1967 Canadian Commemoratives. Great video idea Rob.
Awesome video Rob! There's a 1970 and some 1920s in the package I sent you! :) Perfect timing haha.
VERY NICE - and it's sitting on my shelf right now!
@@RobFindsTreasure Awesome! Glad to know it arrived! 👍
Is it a dime, I believe it is a semi key date if so.
Great to see the albums filling up nice video :)

Thats a good fill for not collecting Canadian nickels, always cool to see different videos waiting for the dimes👍👍
Rob. I loved the Canadian hunt. It's a fresh video. Not the same coins weve been all hunting. So that's really nice.
I’d like to see ANY coin collection that you have! (Although I do love pennies!) Thank you so much for sharing with us !! ✌🏼
This foreign coin collector really likes this foray into the Great White North! Can't wait for more.

WOW!!! I got my Canadian nickel books today and filled mine too. Not nearly as much as you but I'm looking forward to filling them all!

Great video. I am doing the penny folders right now. I just started filling the #1&2 folders.
Fantastic Canadian coin Hunt definitely something for you to continue searching for 👍🇬🇧
From your friends up north, gotta love the Nickel hunt. Keep it up Rob, earned my subscription for sure! And as always... happy hunting
Dave He-Bear Thank you brother - I had a blast hunting them and wondered why I had postponed it for so long.
Thanks Rob - not sure how I missed this video. The Canadian coins are fun and interesting. Great fun! Chuck in NE Kansas

This was great Rob, loved the nickels you have, I’m excited to see the dimes you get to put in your books. Another great night with RFT 👍🤗
Great video, definitely fun to learn about other countries coins.
That was super interesting, thank you for the video!! I'd love to see other denominations too!! :D
I love the older canadian silver nickels, would love to see a canadian dime hunt.
Just a little tip for putting coins in those types of folders, PUT A TOWEL UNDER THE BOOK. It makes it MUCH easier to push the coin into the hole.
I love how full that first book already looks it’s beautiful
Totally look forward to your Canadian dime video
Very cool Rob! Keep the videos coming!
Love the album videos. Just watched a guy go through his states type album, super cool. And your video was a nice intro into Canadian nickels
Awesome collection Rob! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely like this video and would like to see more like it.

That was very interesting. When I get Canadian money in my change...I think of “play” money. Guess I need to pay better attention. Tfs 😃
Wow! What’s the chance that I got my first box, nickels that is, up here in Canada yesterday?! Great video Rob!
This inspired me to go check my Canadians that I pick up from change. I found a silver dime! 1963, 80% silver.
Nice video rob like all the different coins you do I say do the Canadian dime time

Hi Rob, please do a video for the 1, 10 and 25 Canadian cents

I have to do this as well sometime. I have so many Canadian nickels, I need to order some books.

Interesting and inspirational 👍😀
Ive got a 1962 with doubling on only the 1, 9 and 2, with the 6 being fine
I personally would enjoy seeing u do the dimes, Rob!

question though: do you, or any other subscriber, know the easiest way to get rolls of canadian currency in the US besides knowing someone who lives there? i figured any roll off ebay has already been searched
