Great advice! The limiting advice is a very good but often-overlooked tip. Glad to see I’m already doing all of these, but they were hard-learned lessons from my years of doing both video and music production 😅
Harv is SPOT ON. I shake my head at most of the hundreds of audio tutorials on YT. THIS is exactly the right advice. BTW I still think he looks like a young Alan Parsons.
Harv, I live in the United States (Texas). I have so much trouble understanding many people from the UK that I have to use closed captioning. However, your voice is easy for me to understand.
How do I know which frequencies are "nasty?" Technically, I understand how to use a narrow Q and sweep, but at that point, everything sounds nasty to me. How do I know which ones I want to dip? Can you describe what you are looking for?
Sure, I look for anything that makes me think of listening on a really cheap sounding speaker. For my voice it’s usually something harsh at around 2k and then something boxy at 3-400hz. It’s a matter of preference of course and definitely one for the dynamic eq rather than notching out with a traditional eq 👍🏻
I hope this helps, enjoy ☺️
Talk about signal to noise ratio, this video packs a ton of great info into 10 minutes! That parametric compressor plugin was new to me.
I know I needed this video. Thank you. I have so much to learn about how to properly edit audio.
This is great info, thanks Harv!
Nice thank you for sharing Harv

Great video! Thank you for the information as always!

Very helpful. Thanks!
I've been looking at the fab-filter for a while now. Thanks for recommending a free alternative! Gotta try this out!
Thanks for the vid!
Cheers Eric ☺️
