- I tried my first halo halo in the Philippines, a filipino dessert that so many people love and that I found in this filipino fast food chain called Chowking while I was walking around Cebu historical center to go to the Santo Niño Church. In Chowking you can also try filipino fried chicken and Chinese filipino food like chicken lauriat.

Jollibee: Is famous for it’s fried chicken joy and burgers plus much much more. A very children friendly atmosphere!
Chow King: Is known for being a Filipino perspective on Chinese food. A Filipino Chinese fusion style fast food chain owned and operated by the same makers of Jollibee! It may look like Chinese food but it has a Filipino twist in flavors.
Chowking is one of the fast food chains that is under Jollibee Foods Corp. Both are sisters and have the same owner actually.
P.S. If you want to try the best lechon, visit carcar city in the south. I live here.

@Seara...The different sauces they gave you are gravy for fried chicken, hot chili sauce for the siomai and the sweet spicy sauce is for siopao (steamed bun). But you can eat the sauce however you want it.
Dip the siomai In sweet & sour sauce or in soy sauce
The noodles is called plancit cantpn
Halo Halo means 1) A mixture of different ingredients 2) Mix it well before eating. Another place you should try is Mang Inasal for the grilled chicken and also Halo Halo. Mang Inasal, Chowking is owned by Jollibee Corporation.
Xin chao from Vietnam. Chowking is my favorite fastfood to go especially lunchtime. I used to order Lauriat because it has a little of everything. Its been awhile since my last visit to that place though.
The gravy is usually for the fried chicken, and the sweet n sour sauce may be for the fried dumplings
In the hierarchy of favorites, for me alone Chowking is above Jollibee because at any given time I have this bias for chinese food except for the authentic native Filipino foods

the sauce you like and put in the chao fan was actually for the siopao. The brown sauce is the gravy for the chicken and the dark sauce is meant as a dip for the siomai
the best halo halo in cebu city is in barangay labangon in meltons or moonbis for me they are the best in cebu city to offer..... in lechon many have great lechons knowns ones are from zubuchon, ricos lechon and lechon house . and many recommended you carcar its the chicharon is best their. lastly our pasalubongs best it means food packages for your love ones buy some dried mangoes and otap shamrocks its my recommendations for authentic foods in cebu city.....
Halo-halo is a filipino word which means stir & mix. We normally stir & mix it first to flavor before we consume to dissolve the sugar and other ingredients in it.
It literally translates to mix mix. XD

The word Halo is mix but as per the actual spelling with a U which is Halu-halo is means assorted. It refers to the ingredients.
It is not necessary to mix it and it is not actually mixing, it is melting the ice to form a semi milkshake like liquid.

The chilli sauce is for the fried siomai on top of your chaofan, the gravy is for the fried chicken, and the sweetsauce is for the siopao. I like you trying the sauces on your rice which i love also myself specially the gravy

Hi, yeah I call it "Choke" King (choking) lol 😂 The only thing I like from them is the fried chicken, and halo-halo which is good, but Mang Inasal has the best halo-halo. You should try theirs. Frikin Jollibee used to serve great halo halo, don't know why they stopped. Safe travels!

"Halo-Halo" basically has two words meaning. Firstly it means "mix-mix" or "stir-stir". Before eating, mix all ingredients by stirring or mixing it, in the process you are mixing it all down until its liquidated all ingridients with the ice. Secondly "halo-halo" also means "variety" of mixed sweet deserts, like jellies, beans, tapioca, ice cream, leche flan, milk, crunchy pinipig, sugar, etc.😊👍

Pour or dip the brown gravy with the chicken.
Pour or dip the oily chilli sauce with the siomai as well.
