- Watch me take a look at the Folio Society's version of Frank Herbert's Children of Dune, as I upgrade to it from a trade paperback version.
If you'd care to see more from the amazing Hilary Clarcq - the artist whose work is featured throughout this video - check out her website: hilaryclarcq.com/

I was waiting for your review of the folio edition of Children of Dune as soon as I saw some of Hilary's art. Professional as always, appreciate the superb presentation 🍀💯📓
I'm glad I could deliver on your expectations. I really do enjoy Ms. Clarcq's work on the series! And thank you for more kind words of support. Are you going to be treating yourself to anything from the Fall Folio collection?
@@Upgradeyourbooks Sadly no, the folio ones are too expensive for me, but for now I have the Ace Deluxe edition box-set which is the second best in my opinion. I hope they publish God-Emperor so I can add it to my library someday 😄
@@martindiaries Agreed on the Ace Deluxe versions. They look great, and I'm sure you noticed, but I used clips of Matt Griffin's amazing covers because I really admire them. Do they all have coloured page-edges, and if so is it always the same blue colour? I'm sure they are making enough off them that they'll be eager to do the next three soon - hopefully you get your GEofD wish soon!
@@Upgradeyourbooks Yeah, they're all coloured, all in blue on the edges. If you want to get them they're definitely worth it, cheers 😄
Finally, thank you
My pleasure! Didn't mean to keep you waiting...or were you talking about the release of the book itself? It's certainly been highly-anticipated.
@@Upgradeyourbooks Was talking about a youtuber that I watch (like you) making a thorough review! ;)
Hopefully they do the final three books, it would be interesting to see the art for those three.
God emperor has so much potential for crazy art that it would be a crime not too at least do that one
I would assume that if sales stay strong, they'll have to take a look at it. It would certainly allow the artists to lean into the weird and surreal. Perhaps they could look to launch the next trilogy around the release of Villeneuve's third film...I think the hype around the release of Dune Part Two helped them seel serious stacks of their version of Messiah!
@@chrisquinn3377 As I said towards the end of the video, I myself am 'satisfied' with the first three...for now. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't love the chance to check out some GEofD artwork in the future. Just give me a year or two between them so my wallet has time to recover!
