@WBR79 You are correct. We should have treated the rust inside the rockers before welding. The good news is that if you pop off the door sill plastic it gives access to the top side of each gusset. We plan on spraying Eastwood Internal Frame Coating inside the rockers using the included 24" extension tube. We should have done it right from the beginning, but this is better than nothing!

Great idea.....think you can do similar to the JK/JKU platform since its body is like a car (no tub like that of a YJ/TJ/LJ) with a drip rail holding the floor panels together? What about placing a rub rail on the outside square face to match the width of the flare? Edit: seen your latest on the XJ mods and the rub rail for it. Thanks.

@milesneimeyer7584 That is a great idea, and one of our first thoughts also. We stopped the sliders where we did because that puts them right at the edge of the OEM fender flares so you don't have to cut them. Also, that is the typical spot where most XJ owners are trimming their fenders. It makes the sliders a win-win for both scenarios.

@IronRockOffRoad It just always seems like the ZJ is the unloved stepchild of the family. Most items for the ZJ are only available because of shared commonality with the XJ and YJ. They are cheaper to find, usually less beat on, and just as/more capable than the XJ, yet aftermarket parts seem to be only XJ and WJ focused a lot of the time. Would just be nice to see more aftermarket love, especially on something this ingenious. I know there is a lot of R&D for it, and I would even be good with a delay time if you had them offered, but made to order rather than stocked. I think if you design it, have it available to order, it would be great. Basically just hoping for more innovative parts for the ZJ.

@mjguy I would recommend getting the full length. That way you can protect under your bed side as well. For reference, the front section is about 34.5" long on the flat (horizontal) part under the door opening.
@TheBackpackingSailor Yes. We installed frame stiffeners right after doing these rock sliders. Yes, you can, and you should tie a roll cage into the sliders and the frame stiffeners. Man, this is begging for some plate to be welded in to the unibody rails from the rock sliders... super strong if you've welded in the stiffeners, and the XJ isn't a rust bucket. Weldable primer, drainage holes and cavity spray...
@Brian_C_ We appreciate the input. The design of these sliders has been proven in the rocks and we stand by them 100%. However, we know there is no one-size-fits-all Jeep product on the market. If you feel the need to add more plate to them, we say go for it! We completely understand the itch to change and modify things. That's how we got here!
@@IronRockOffRoad Totally agree about the 'no one-size-fits-all'. Rocker armor is definitely one of those things that ranges from 'absolutely stronger than the XJ' to 'I'm just doing it for the look'. Looking at your product, I'd say it's solid. I absolutely love the idea of the reinforcement ribs vs. using straight 2x6 steel. Having those pieces CNC plasma cut is a huge time saver. My previous was, in no way, a negative criticism of your product.
@Brian_C_ No problem at all, I didn't think it was negative. I figured it was just one Jeep guy talking to another, tossing around some ideas. I would say that if you are tying a roll cage into these sliders then I would 100% add some gussets from the slider to the un rail. It's never a bad idea to add strength when we're talking about safety items.
Man, what a shame to weld that thing right on top of all that active rust.. grinding the whole area and adding a little weldable primer was just too much work?
@stevehamel1336 Great point. Because of the time constraints we did not show painting the interior of the rocker in the video. Later, after the video, we used a sprayable internal frame coating that comes with a long hose attachment to reach inside and coat the rocker from the inside. We have not had great luck with weldable primer in the past. Do you have a recommendation on a good product?

Any chance you will be selling just the front part? So the MJ could possibly use this.

@mjguy I just checked our project XJ. You would need the whole length. The seam for the front part is under the front door.
