Thanks for sharing. I'm in the process of searching for steel.
Looking forward to the next episode.
I did 4 supports back to the frame and will plate it eventually to make a boatside. My goal was to never be able to hurt them! I used .25" wall. 😊
Great video , answered a couple questions i had now i can get busy
Awesome stuff bud... Described your process well. Good work.🇦🇺🚙👍
Thank you!
Thanks for the video, love the channel you guys have some pretty sweet rigs and you definitely know what your doing with these xj’s
🤜🤛
Appreciate the support!
Those look sweet!
Appreciate it brother!
Nice job god bless
I know how I’m doing my sliders now just waiting for my center section frame stiffeners to come in to do both at the same time😏
Youre a good dude Ben! Im glad I follow your channel! This is a project ive earmarked for my wj! I installed my injectors and used your code, im guessing 5mpg gain. Ill know more after this tank and i can hand calculate it. Are you using flux core or gas? I hate that dude dont wear gloves when working/hammering. One slip, gash city.
Welding gas with .035 MIG wire. Thanks for all your support! Sometimes people would rather take the risk. I hate wearing gloves most the time too. but my hands have become used to it over the years. So you’ll rarely see me with gloves unless I’m welding or greasing a bearing haha
Awesome video man. I really wanna do this to my XJ plus will help get ride of some of my rust that my XJ has lol
Perfect way to replace those old rusty rockers!
@@mountaincrawlers8 yes it is. I just got my Barnes’s frame stiffeners in the mail today so I get to practice some welding then tackle that project the rest of the way since I have the frame rails clean then doing these rock sliders will be the next thing I do probably
Make sure you get some wheeling in with Jaron while he’s up there!
@@mountaincrawlers8 I 100% want to I just need to get this rust stuff done and then this summer gonna wheel as much as I can
So you never had any issues with bending any part of the door seem from a hard hit. I’m cutting mine right now and trying to decide if I put angle iron for the 2x6 to sit on instead of the oem seam. It’s a lot easier this way but if it’s strong enough then why do the angle iron
So what if your pinch seam is rotted away/massaged by rocks so much that you can’t use it to weld to? Because my rockers are totally gone and I’m wanting to do this to my jeep but haven’t seen many videos dealing with really rotted xj’s
Sorry I’m not much help in that department. Sounds like you’d have to either cut more in and make a boat side type slider or work on restoring what you can on your rusted pinch seam. Living in Arizona definitely has its perks.
When tieing it into the frame rails could you use steel plate to keep the ground clearance or does that not matter too much?
Yes you can use plate and make a mini boat side out of it. That’s my future plan for my xj
@@mountaincrawlers8 dope, I can't wait to see it!
Are those 33"'s or 35's? any interference? Thanks for posting.
35s! And no interference he’s on about 6.5” of lift
what gear set and transmission? Is it too slow or too fast?
What did you do about the seatbelt nuts that protrude there?
They aren’t in the way
Beat that seam like it owes you money!
I can't watch anymore.
?
@@mountaincrawlers8 I don't understand why he said that either. This is legit budget rock sliders. Will be doing this on my AMC Eagle and my F-150 as well, as soon as funds will allow it.
@@EvrttGrn some people just never have nice things to say I guess! No big deal to me just don’t watch if you don’t like it haha
@@mountaincrawlers8, Agreed. In the words of Casey Ladelle, the haters and bad comments boost the YT Algorithym. LOL
@@EvrttGrn I need to get an “I hate Casey Ladelle” shirt still 😂
