Nicely done bruv, I see you have a safety 3rd work ethic, much like myself 😂

Well I built a copy of your radius tool for my Southbend 10K lathe. I did not realize that the vertical height for the weld that connects the C shape to rhe tool holder T has to be low enough on the C so that when the top slide is retracted, the bottom of the C will not hit the base of the dovetail. Fortunately I only had one weld there and that was easily corrected.- And your first video does not show the top slide being turned 90 degrees. That is where the real capacity of this rig starts to shine! If you turn the top slide even further you get even more ! On the Southbend 10K, this invention of yours will accomodate a diameter larger than the capacity of the lathe itself! Hopefully I will not have to make a die bigger than 10 inches, but if I did, it would be the lathe itself that was insufficient, not the radius tool you so generously showed us !!! Thanks a million!

Cheers. Glad it helped. I know at some point I'll run into a job that requires a 2nd rig. But if I'm not trying to film myself making it, I can knock one up in an hour or so.

Great approach, could come usefull for me too. However you lathe screams for some TLC.

The Lathe needs a gearbox but Warco has changed hands since it was made in 1983, and there are no spares now. I've made some new bushes but the gears are still sloppy. I don't mind, it wasn't expensive and nearly does as its told.

    Hi
This isn't related this video, I just wondered if you could fix my T140V gearbox? I watched your video on reassembly and it was a big help but I still can't sort it.Have you an email or other contact I can use?

I don't take on Customer work, as I don't want to tread on the toes of Legit shops. I'd recommend D&N Engineers near Preston.

Question- Does the JD2 bender ONLY make bends with the same radius as the die? Or can you make larger radius bends than whatever die size you have? I am working with much thinner wall tubing to bend (0.049") wall EMT and my lathe max diameter is 10 inches, so the max radius I can make dies for is 5" and that may be too small to use on that thin wall EMT?

The Die dictates the Radius. They have various options on their website for different diameter tube. You are also restricted by the the spacing of the holes on the arms.

@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 I think it's still a great DIY tool, and if you needed an even larger die, you could probably borrow some time on a friend's larger lathe and use that same tool on it. You might have to drill another hole in the vertical shaft to accommodate the change in center height, but that is no big deal. I'm hoping to put mine to work soon to make a follower roller for my EMT conduit bender. Keep up the good work!
