I am in Los Angeles California and found your primer to re-assembly simple, clear and to the point as it should be.It is an excellent educational video.Thank you.
Awesome video. Just got a 98 Springer. I like what you did to custom the fork. And my garage looks just like yours. Nothing fancy, but it works. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Doug Fresh from Nebraska, USA.
This was a great video. I am considering getting a springer as my first HD. This helped me get comfortable with the mechanics of this crazy old design.
Custom Cez Fai Da Te my first and current bike is a KLR650. After 4 years of riding with others I realize that the amount of dirt and gravel I want to do with a bike that heavy can be done by any bike. I'm into chillin out, having fun, and doing my own maintenance. I hear the 89-99 Evo is perfect for that. Would you agree?
Best explanation of fall away I have ever seen! I love the demonstration you made. I was hoping you'd go into detail on setting the tension on the rocker bearings, but you didn't. Maybe you could touch on that some time? Like the last video, very well done. Thank you so much for making this series.
Thanks guys it was an excellent and helpful video and very good descriptive narration. Its going to help me a lot when I install a springer front end to a custom job that I'm currently working on....again well done!!!!
great vid. i am reassembling and mounting my stock springer onto a 83 shovel. sorry, but i found the graphic annoying as well, it's very jarring because of the volume. i'm doing my homework because my springer has been on the shelf for a couple years. i'd like to see the rocker torque info too. you're a natural m.c. and teacher, keep up the good work. ciao
I make how to videos too. I like to give back to the home DYI guys. Anyway I'm getting ready to install a springer on one of my bikes and You make me feel better for it. Good video thanks for posting your stuff
yea man, u r not the first to ask about the torque to apply to the bolts and stuff. i'm gonna get the torque wrench and do an add on to the epp asap :) thx so much for the feed back man!!!
would have been good if you got more into depth on the rocker bearing torque settings for both the bearing retainer/jam nut and the arch setting. Awesome video guys. My 2007 CVO Springer has 150,000 kms on it and now I just want to learn everything about these remarkable front ends.
Parabéns pelo belíssimo projeto! Tenho um Shadow 600 e estou confeccionando um garfo springer para customizá-la. Seu projeto me inspirou muito. Thanks!
Jon Grattan sorry man, this is it on the subject. You can align the rear wheel cause it has the regulation bolts, but not the front. If it's askew is ether because the forks are bent or because the risers/handlebar assembly has not been done properly. Try taking those apart and put them back together the best you can ans see if it's any better, otherwise u might have to take down the forks and see if they are straight. Hope this helps
Excellent video , best one on the topic without searching deeper. The. Overuse of the cleverly done animation inserts .are abit repititios and intrusive to the focal point of topic. Also when showing a special tool or home handmade .If perhaps remove an animation in favor of a pause with photo emphasis for say 15 to 30 sec pause or at the end of the video show tools and or special parts Would b extremely useful thank you for your videos.
Thanks so much for sharing this, really helpful. Can you share your experience about the design of the water gaurd and the 1) weight. specifically on the rocker arm. It looks like it will be too heavy snap off into the spokes. 2) the wind speed on it? Wow thank you for sharing your great experience. :D
Custom Cez Fai Da Te Nice! I wanted to adopt the same springer style for a custom bike I'm interested in building. So much great information, thank you again 😁😁 Your bike looks great !
Hello. Is the Springer Suspension, on that bike, a OEM part? Talking about non OEM parts, do you know of any brands making really good (quality and looking) Springer Forks for Harley Davidson? I have seen some I wouldn’t put on my bike but was just wondering. Note, I would rather OEM but was just wondering.
ciao, scusi. How much does the complete fork cost? I would want to assembly on a AME frame XS 650 Yamaha. Is it possible? Which sizes do I need to find out, to know if it fits?I used to live in my childhood in Varese. Italy ;). Greetings from Germany
+Jason Diamant Ciao Jason, i think a springer fork will cost about 1000 or 1500E. Everything is possible :) it's not going to be easy though. You'll have to match the bearings to fit both the neck and the fork. I think it will be a wonderful build! Good luck to you man!
very talented, I'm Colombian and here in my country is very difficult to see such suspensions. I would like and if you can give me some steps to give one to my motorcycle q is national brand low cylinder. thank you very much
julian diaz hey Julian :) thank you very much!!!sorry but i don't understand what you need, you what to get a springer front end? let me know and i'll help if i can :)
Gracias..
Good afternoon, suddenly hise not understand me because my English is terrible. But what I really wanted to do is a springer or girder, since ak suspension in Colombia do not see that. You bring us light years knowledge of motorcycles. Well I wish I asesoraras to make homemade one for my motorcycle 150cc 4 t. Thank You ..
julian diaz hey Julian, it's ok :) you can probably make a springer at home, i've seen it done before. try to keep the corners square. There are aftermarket designs that are easier to build, less curves. good luck to you my friend, and post pictures if you manage to make it :)
yer I see what you mean, 40 degree rake, pipes bent to 40 degree for silencers, it not relly peter fondas tank,it was just a joke about the plastic tube full of dollar bills
Hi...you forgot the torque requirements on the rocker arm. There inner bolt is 50 ftlbs. The threaded insert with the allen wrench fitting hole in it is supposed to be torques to only 35in pounds. Then, the jam nut on the outside of that threaded insert is torqued to 100 ft pounds. You guys complete skipped that and it is very important to the operation of the rocker.
+Jackie Tan how annoying? Slightly annoying, quite annoying or so annoying that I'm gonna rip all my hair off my head? Your feedback is important to us, thank you for caring!!!

SpikeWray1 Thank you man!!! I put a lot of effort in my videos so i'm happy to see that is coming through :)
Awesome video. Just got a 98 Springer. I like what you did to custom the fork. And my garage looks just like yours. Nothing fancy, but it works.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. Doug Fresh from Nebraska, USA.
Thanks for the best springer video on UA-cam. You made it very easy to work on my 98 heritage springer.
Glad it helped 😉
This was a great video. I am considering getting a springer as my first HD. This helped me get comfortable with the mechanics of this crazy old design.
+Bruno Bronosky glad you liked it man! Not a performance fork but if you were into performance you wouldn't be going for a Harley after all 🤣

dctruckguy you are very welcome :)
Custom Cez What part of Italy are you in?. I have family in Trento de Tione, and Udine.
dctruckguy I'm in Rome :) I have a friend in Udine though that builds bikes =)
There are lubrication steps that should have been taken when re-assembling the rocker bushings/bearings.
Also didn't put blue lock tight on anything
Hi thanks lads, you're a great help, I hope you're all well after the Virus.
nice job
thank you sir :)

Do you have a video on how to realign my springer front end? I have a '05 Springer Softail and the handlebars/ steering are a little askew.

Thank you, but I'm sorry Victor, I didn't understand your question
Custom Cez Fai Da Te The fender looks so heavy for the rocker arm? Will it break off while riding
Hi Victor, no it's all aluminium and it has been there for now 4 years riding daily on Roma's roads that are all broken up. :D
Custom Cez Fai Da Te Nice! I wanted to adopt the same springer style for a custom bike I'm interested in building. So much great information, thank you again 😁😁 Your bike looks great !
Thank you so much :D I'll tell you, if you don't go for an excessive rake it drives very nicely too ;)

what is to best angle for the retainer rod rose joint in degree's
+trevor francis I'm sorry man, what is the rose joint? Maybe in Italian translates differently :)
the part thar secures the caliper to the rear fork leg cheers
+trevor francis the shop manual doesn't specify, i guess it's a result of how much you tighten the nuts on the springs
yer I see what you mean, 40 degree rake, pipes bent to 40 degree for silencers, it not relly peter fondas tank,it was just a joke about the plastic tube full of dollar bills
+trevor francis still very nice!!!

The Roma Custom Bike flash from time to time is very annoying
+Jackie Tan how annoying? Slightly annoying, quite annoying or so annoying that I'm gonna rip all my hair off my head?
Your feedback is important to us, thank you for caring!!!
Very annoying. But thank you for providing the remove and assemble information
it was painful to see (and hear) that teenage cutaway animation every couple of minutes.
this video is almost watchable. It needs that shitty song and splash screen a few dozen more times.
It also needs a few more shitty comments like this one to be just perfect 🤣
@@CustomCez you're on the right track, then. Keep it up! lol
hehehe, ok ;)
Angle Sucks!
