The Gemini 2 are phenomenal, I just bought them and they are already my reference headphones (I own 2 very expensive large headphones), I never believed that earbuds are capable of reaching such a high level audio performance and Iam glad I didn’t buy cheaper headphones from Sony or Bose, they are not in the same league and I highly doubt if there are headphones that are capable of reaching such a high end audiophile performance.
Great review and comparison. I have both earbuds and totally share the same findings as Ron. I would go further to say the bass on the Gemini ii goes an octave lower than the Pi8. I find the bass on the Pi8 rolls off earlier, although it has more body albeit less detail than the Gemini ii.
Thank you, Ron! I haven't had a change to test the B&W's yet, but from my experience with Gemini 2 I agree they have a lot of control. The bass, the highs... everything almost perfect... These were the only TWS that felt truly better than my current Sennheiser Momentum 2's. I didn't like the mic though :) B&W's are too obviously better in that regard.
Which is the earbud you would recommend out of all the ones you have ever tested? The priority is sound quality, specifically having the big punchy bass, while also delivering clear and high-quality sound across all frequencies. What is the absolute best available on the market?
@@mr.casanova7145hi guys ! I am one of the first followers of Ron. I really love what he is doing !! You can trust him on the Denon Perl Pro. The momemtum 4 have a brighter sound and instruments separation is a little bit better BUT the immersion you get with the Denon is just phenomenal !!!!! It's like being surrounded by 12 speakers !! The vocals are better, more presence, bass is excellent! Denon sounds louder by a mile! So, if you listen to them, the experience with the Denon is superior! Plus, they are more comfortable than the momemtum 4! At the end of my training with the momemtum 4, my ears bleed! (Joking 😂).
I've had a miserable experience with my pi8s... Constant connectivity issues all the time with the left ear bud, right ear bud, both ear buds sometimes, cutting in and out, really slow to connect even when they do. They sound great when they work but I hate them. Just bought some Gemini 2s, they come in a couple days, hopefully they'll scratch that luxury itch
@ronontech got them today, there is a very noticeable difference between these and the pi8s. These are significantly better with their bass capability. It's better in range, clarity, and power. They're also way more comfortable with zero connectivity issues. Not only is the auditory performance much better but the app is way way way better. BW should be ashamed of the app they offer their customers for $400 devices. I've had the Sony 1000xm5s, Bose QC 2s and ultras, Sennheiser mtw 4s, Jabra elite 10 Gen 1 and 2, Bowers pi8s, and these Gemini 2s... These are the best by a decent margin.
I have an iPhone and use Spotify but would move to Apple Music or another music streaming application if it betters my quality but which one of these is the best? I have no limits on budget thanks
Its going to depend on what you are streaming from but Tidal and Qobuz stream at the highest quality. Whether or not you can notice that difference on even the best wireless headphones on highly debatable at best. There are videos of audiophile experts who can't tell the difference if using Bluetooth. That being said, you can definitely hear the difference with a good set of wired headphones and an amplifier.
az80 and pi8 I planned to buy az80, but the salesperson recommended me to buy pi8. Even if I told him that I use an iPhone, the salesperson said there is a difference, and I mainly listen to rock music.
Same here but with android. I turned to deezer because of the bad quality of Spotify. When I turned to deezer I thought I bought new earbuds/headphones.
Thanks Ron, been waiting for this one. Curious, do you feel the Geminis sit deeper in the ear? I've got the PI8's and while great and very comfortable, I feel they don't insert as deep as I'd like (tried all sorts of tips but not foam), compared to Momentum 4's for example which feels more wedged in. I wonder if that's affecting the bass and ANC performance potential.
Some of you who are in the search for a second opinion with regards to the main players in "premium" earbuds may find the following interesting: I have owned Sennheiser MTW3, Gemini 2, Technics AZ80 and now I just ordered Pi8. Between the first 3 which I tested extensively, I have only returned the Gemini 2 ones :). The reason? I cannot stand the sound coming from "titanium coated drivers", it sounds completely harsh to me (high frequencies), regardless of the manufacturer. If it's titanium coated driver, it's a no go for me, it was similar with B&O H95 premium over-ear which I have sold because of the same reason. So between MTW3 and AZ80 I like them both, they are really different, MTW3 sounds modern and the "Highs" are the best in the industry, also imaging and sub-bass. But AZ80 sounds classically good, like a legacy HiFi system in your ears, with best soundstage on the market. I wait to see them against PI8

I’m also considering the Jabra elite 10 gen 2 and I currently own the AZ80 and the Pi8. The Pi8 are better than the AZ80 in my testing so far but the price is too high. The Jabra elite 10 gen 2 might be perfect middle ground.
@fredo.heavyy Price can be one time ignored, but i will have to consider overall satisfaction, Comfort, sound quality and much more, also i saw your revieww today of the Pi8, at first you didnot look super happy 😅😅
The jabra gen2 are not cheaper though now. I would want your indepth review on the pi8, az80, jabra 10 or any other, i have time till the end of october, to ask my friend to bring from US
I'm guessing the next opponent for the Pi8s is the Beoplay EX. You can skip the ANC part of that competition. Even if they are still not the best on the Pi8's everyone knows the ANC on the Beoplay EX is the absolute worst. I had been hoping B&O was planning on coming out with new buds sometime soon, but it seems to me that they don't have any plans in the near future now. Alternatively, if they can just improve the current buds ANC with a software upgrade that would work too....
The Gimini II i didn't find them phenomenal at all. I tried them for a week and i wasn't impressed so i sold them, I prefer my B&O Ex , Sennheiser MTW4, B&O EQ , nuratrue pro so far than Gimini II. Best regards
