This is such a good mold with a simple but satisfying transformation, the only thing that bugs me is the way the stripes are broken up weirdly between the torso and the arms, and the plastic quality just not being quite as good as the missing link, but for the price... it's really not bad at all. Heck I think there's a few ways the transformation is BETTER than that of the missing link.
My copy of this mofo just arrived today from Walmart (2024Oct29), they had to ship from Arizona cuz NO LOCATIONS around me in DC/MD/VA had it, according to the app...sure, it's got issues (right arm refuses to tab into place in truck mode, I may clip the tab off and fake it/force it...and the plastic really doesn't feel the best), but I actually enjoy it. He's a fun lil' figure. Tempted to get the Missinglink, but I'm tryna get SS86-31 Optimus as well as the MPG9 Super Ginrai & MPG14 Godbomber later on. And for some really wild laughs, all these trailer options folks talk about? Another option: the trailer from SS44 DotM Jetwing Optimus Prime. It's tiny enough that it looks great with this mofo. And hilariously enough, the weapons platform mode also looks pretty sick with this bad boy in robot mode.
I swapped the smoke stacks from his shoulders to the backs of his legs (angled down) and put the two guns where the smoke stacks were (facing down) to be similar to how Starscream’s shoulder guns are. And he’s got the axe in his arm. Fun and unique way to pose him
I also have this figure, and i gave one of The blaster to my animated universe Prime. ALso, for the first Transformation, I thought more than 5 times "are they gonna break?" while transforming the forearms. And i don't think I can ever afford a missing link considering how hard It's being sought after.
This is realy a ,,not bad" category. The truck cabin side looks cheap, like the wheels. Can be better, but the prince tag make itself looks like detail limitations. Like by a low Prince tag Samsung TV, where the usb disabled because have lower price tag.
You pointed out the Legacy rear arm gaps. Legacy is far superior as ML has a giant gaping hole in the back that goes completely to the windshield. How is anyone ok with that?
Because G1. Technically Missing links hold now actually is plugged by the matrix chamber part. Both are great figures for different reasons I think. The Legacy version hasnt left my desk.
The recent update did that to our cameras, drove me nuts while fiming SS86 Prime.
Like you, I love this little dude.
The camera is driving me crazy!
The trick to getting the arms to sit right in truck mode is that there's an additional set of tabs on the thighs that the arms tab into.

i like that all plastic look over the other g1 toy primes

Those arms, yeah oh man.
I preordered this Prime, I cannot wait to get him!
Hopefully DNA will make and upgrade kit for him, maybe some new hands?
I am very hyped for this.

They realy could give him the trailer
I have so many I dont mind. I live that he works with the Earthrise trailer. Scales better too.
I have a strong feeling they'll repack him with a trailer in the future.

Budget Missing Link, since I already have the toy version of that. This is an easy pass.
Yeah, much Like I mentioned in the outro, As for mine, He's a deskbot where my Missing Link(s) are displayed in my collection.
I personally think Legacy did it Better
