  • Exploring in the Ozarks with a Jeep LJ and Scamp. Courtney and I have for 2 years now done a trip leading up to Thanksgiving and Arkansas was our destination for this trip. Specifically the National Forrests and Hot Springs OHV park. The video of the OHV park is up so go check it out if you haven't! Enjoy!

      We had a great time. The trailer is actually pretty water tight. No noticeable water inside.

    I hat year is the LJ? Curious how it has a 3.6 v6 in it. Never mind. I guess if I would have kept watching the video before I commented I would know. 😂

    So who did the JK belong to? Where did you cook your food on the LJ?
    Nice LJ, by the way.......

      That’s our good friend Nick! We cooked a bit on the engine on the way home, just above the intake and the exhaust manifold.

      It’s a super fun rig. She’s in need of a little repair at the moment. 😉

    I have an 2004 Jeep TJ Rubicon with 33s and 4.10 gears. How do you think my rig could handle a small 12 ft.
    scamp?

    • @thomasolek8836
      @thomasolek8836  3 роки тому +1

      I think it’d handle it well. Our Jeep has stock 3.73s and 35s and it handles well although we have the 6 speed manual.

      When we start planning for a trip we use Gaia gps app and trailsoffroad.com to plan. These trail were found on trails off-road in the Ozark national forest. Enjoy

    What’s the model of the Scamp trailer and do you know the weight?

    • @thomasolek8836
      @thomasolek8836  3 роки тому +1

      It’s a scamp 13, ours is a little custom with the extended frame and front basket. It’s roughly in the 1500-2000 lb range and the LJ handles it well.

    What’s the Max weight trailer you would pull with the LJ? Looking to get a small travel trailer to pull behind mine.

    • @thomasolek8836
      @thomasolek8836  3 роки тому

      Do you have manual or auto and is it stock tire and stock gearing?

    • @SLICKW1993
      @SLICKW1993 3 роки тому

      @@thomasolek8836 I am running 37’s, going to regear to 5.13’s. It’s auto.

    • @thomasolek8836
      @thomasolek8836  3 роки тому +1

      I’d say we’re right around 1500-2000 lbs loaded up and on 35s it pulls and handles well without trailer brakes.

      @@thomasolek8836 Thanks for all the trailer towing info. I have an LJR 6 speed. We plan to get small offroad camper in the near future so I was wondering how it was going to handle the trailer.
