www.fruduamusi... - Watch Galeazzo Frudua breaking down (totally by ear) some complex harmony parts, by using the same method he has used for decyphering The Beatles Harmonies in the past years.
In this vocal lesson, harmony/breakdown tutorial, he's breaking down some complex parts of the song "Wasted on the way" by Crosby, Still & Nash. The breakdown was committed by a CS&N tribute band. NEED TO BREAKDOWN A VOCAL HARMONY? WRITE ME ➡ info@fruduamusic.com

This is a great video. We usually see your final results with perfect breakdowns on often complicated harmonies. This shows the hard work involved in mastering the harmony breakdown. It takes a very talented ear like yours to figure out the nuances in the harmonies. It also takes an excellent memory to put it all together. You've helped me and many others master harmonies we never would have normally.

In a men’s quartet, I can hear the tenor, lead, and bass parts but have a real problem hearing the middle (baritone) part. On Beatle songs, when they sing as a trio, I can hear Paul’s parts easily but I have trouble hearing John’s and George’s harmonies.

My God, what a great job, and what a difficult job, it takes a lot of time to achieve all of this, and we're talking about videos from 10 years ago. Maybe nowadays with AI you can isolate voices much easier. So it's a lot of work and congratulations on everything!!!! I've always loved your videos.

This reminds me of me figuring out chord structures. A lot of relistening to figure it out.
I still find it amazing how you can pick out the individual by voices. Does it get easier over time?

Wow your method is crazy!! I do it very differently, I start with the most 'obvious' voice and then build up over each one. Very interesting to see behind your ear and mind!

Both fascinating and impressive. I wish I were able to distinguish notes like this. I've tried over the years but not successfully.
By the way, I looked up a couple of terms used:
Glissato (usually(?) glissando in English) = A rapid slide through a series of consecutive tones in a scalelike passage.
Portamento = A smooth uninterrupted glide in passing from one tone to another, especially with the voice or a bowed stringed instrument.
