Mike's playout solo at the end of this song is one of the most iconic and unique Ive ever heard! When I first bought 'World Machine' on LP I played this track over and over. Ive had 2 failed marriages so I know how pain feels. This is that put into music........Music on another Level!

Outstanding. Unique voice from a class band ahead of their time, and this song itself is a timeless song that sounds as good now as it did then along with all the memories it brings back so fondly.

World Machine is just in my honest opinion, the best album that this fantastic band ever did. I say this having been an avid supporter of Level 42 since 1980. From "Leaving me now" to the most moving closer track ever in their repertoire "Lying Still", to hear their music now many years later still moves me!

What a brilliant track........sums up the feel of my teenage years. Takes me straight back to those days. The most evocative track for me from that era. I was 15 years old then, a blend of hope and melancholy, with the sweet innocence of youth never to be repeated. Happy days. Best piano outro ever.
