The snowblower is run by hydraulics along with the lift system total installation/attaching time was about 15-20 minutes and is a great help blowing snow here in Michigan . The tractor has 4x4, 3 point hitch and about 200 lbs of weights on the rear , suitcase weights mounted on the heavy-hitch. Thank you for watching and happy plowing subscribe if you like

I got my snow blower delivered to the house this afternoon. It took me around four hours to uncrate it and put everything together. It came with the RIO sensor but I have a 1026R built in 2012 and didn't need it. I took your advise and saved myself over $300 by doing it myself. I opened the garage door to go test it out on my snow banks and it's raining! Oh well, we are ready for the next one. Thanks again for your great videos. :)
16B9 I'm glad you did it yourself and saved the money, now you have a better understanding of your sweet machine and 4 hrs from start to finish for your first time ,not bad. I'm glad I could help a little. and it's great that you made it through not knowing all what to expect, just that they were delivering it by crate. you did awesome. thanks for your encouragement also
Tony, Thanks for this helpful video. It fills-in the gaps in the instruction manual. You made it an easy job for this old guy.
Great , glad to help. I have to watch it to remember how it goes on myself haha. Have a great weekend
Watched in the Winter to put snow blower on, then watched again in Spring to take off. Good video
Thanks, Stephen glad it was helpful
Thanks for the video. I follow a similar process for the 47" blower on my JD #2305. Don't forget to grease all the zerks as you are hooking it up.
Great tip! definitely have to keep an eye on those and your setup will last longer and make life a little easier down the road
Thank you for this video! Pretty quick to take loader off and hookup blower.
Thank you for taking the time to comment back thanks for watching hope it made life a little easier for you
@@TonyCampCamppartyof4 when I get a 1025r it will. =)
Nice video, looking to get a series 1 this spring
Very Nice good quality video. Thanks brother!
Narls Barkley thanks for watching and the comment . Have a great day
Holy Shit have I been doing this wrong! LOL I think you just saved me 1/2 hour each fall and my sanity!! I thank you Tony :)
Glad it helped Don. Have a great winter season.
Yes - thanks - that was super helpful!!
Awesome glad to help
You need to show removing the auto connect. I went for the rear blower much easier to install and I have a snow pusher on the front for small storms
Tony - good video tutorial. I notice you didn't mention the snowblower spring-loaded pins in the video. I assume yours 'shot right into place' on the bracket when you drove up to the blower and lifted it? I have the 47" blower, and after I lifted the snowblower, I simply had to turn the tractor off, and then walk around to the front of the snowblower and lift it slightly - and BAM! ...the spring loaded snow blower pins found the hole and snapped right in. Just wanted to make sure that people didn't miss the point of making sure the snow blower pins MUST be secured through the corresponding tractor bracket holes -missing this could cause major damage or injury in the right set of circumstances.
tgilldesign at 7:34 I put up a banner highliting that because it's often forgot, good call. I definitely make sure mine went in
tgilldesign why all the negativity have I offended you?
Huh? Must be in the type written translation.... no negativity intended. Just asked if your unit has a plug or not? Mine does... but I know that the 1025R was a rebadged 1026R when it was first released a few years ago; and then they made some significant changes....I don't believe the earlier 1025R's have quite the same setup as the newer 1025R's.... just curious, that is all. :-)
OK my bad. I've never seen one but that does not mean that it's not there. Just have not seen it. Mine is a 2016 but maybe changed at some point
Inverted John deer snow blower
great video. I have a 47" coming. my local dealer is encouraging me to have them do the setup at their shop (possibly just for the setup $$?). do you think it's necessary? I do have the quickhitch attachments for the mower on my tractor and I believe those need to be removed. but other than that isn't it just the usual setup for an attachment, shoot setup, lube and oil, etc? thanks for any input!
Casey James you got it , you'll remove the mower raise/lower bracket and the PTO quick connect if attached, I don't know what they would do that you couldn't do? and you will want to learn as much as possible if you are going to keep the tractor for the long haul, definitely don't want to take it to the shop and pay for something you can do. I don't care how much money you have haha keep it. heck even make a video if you wanted to and post it , screw ups and all for the new guys. always push yourself. cheers bud thanks for watching and commenting
They came out and got it, and brought it back a day later with it installed. So it was an ok deal, but did cost to have it "installed".
TonyCamp I have the quick hitch for the mower. Just got the 1025r had the 47 blower from 445. If anybody could post video of removal of quick hitch would be appreciated.
this shows the install. there is a bracket under that you need to remove if you have the 60" deck mower.
Can you leave your front end loader or mower deck on the grass outside? or do you need a cement slab?
The main thing is a level surface, I've left in grass outside but on very level surface and had no problem, sorry for the delay, UA-cam didn't notify me of your comment
Hey were did u buy his one thanks for the help tho
Corbin, I purchased it from my local JD Dealership Greenmark Equipment LLC in Athens, Michigan
@@TonyCampCamppartyof4 ok thanks great vid most of it is simple and all that if you own one but I was wandering how it mounted and how well it worked what is the worst thing you can say about it
Could this process be used with installing the broom also?
I don't have the broom but I imagine it would be similar process. but don't take my word as I'm not 100% sure.
Question about the Quick Hitch tractor adapter. I have the mount for my quick hitch to my 54" snow blade but it doesn't have the bolt on pieces where that long drive shaft slides through and connects to the snow blower. Do those bolt on mounting pieces that the drive shaft slides through come with that long drive shaft as part of the kit or do I have to order them? Thanks Tony.
16B9 I believe that the parts have to be ordered separately but you'd have to check with your local dealer or the online company that you go through because sometimes they sell things in package deals with certain items that you need in order to save a few bucks. but I think normally you would order the driveshaft separately from the bracket
Thanks Tony! I'll check with the JD dealer. I try to get most of my stuff off of ebay. I've saved hundreds of dollars shopping parts for my Gators and tractor vs. what the local dealer charges. Thanks again. Have a great day!!
16B9 sorry I couldn't help more. thanks for watching and commenting. have a great day
One other thing. Did your mount, that marries the quick hitch to your tractor, have an electrical plug you need to connect? You didn't mention it during your installation of your snow blower. I read there is a RIO sensor on the mount to prevent backing when the snow is operating. I also saw your informational video about putting a quick tie on the switch under the seat. Is that so the snow blower will still work in reverse? Thanks again for the video.
16B9 I know what you are talking about, yes some had a rio connector or something, but I believe some didn't have that as mine didn't have it. but the zip tie method I used should work for the mower deck also(but yes my snowblower works in reverse) . that's why I originally did it because this is my main grass mower also
Just what I wanted to know.. Thank you.
Let's -- go -- Brandon
Thank you for watching and taking the time to stop and comment. Glad I could help a bit. Let's-go-Brandon
Thank you for the informative video. I have 14" of snow I just spent 8 hours pushing around the property with my FEL. You convinced me I need a snow blower.
16B9 definitely makes it easier and more fun, thanks for watching and commenting
Great video. I watched and installed my snowblower without a manual easily thanks to your demonstration.
Very glad to hear that you were able to get it up and running. Happy plowing! And MERRY Christmas
Thank you for making this. Definitely answers some questions for me.
Great, thank you
very good instructional video! sometimes it is alot easier to get the job done by watching it done rather then trying to figure out the manual. thanks
1teddy1979 heck yeah man I'm definitely a visual learner. thanks for the cool comment and watching. now next year I can watch this if I forget how lol
TonyCamp me too!
Excellent video. I gotta get me one of these blowers now. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks Scott. It is great, never have an issue with mine
Great piece of equipment. Bet that throws alot of snow!!! Thanks, Vinny
mmanut thanks for the comment bud, we definitely like it,makes throwing snow more fun for sure
Thank you, a big help!
Great! I still watch it once in a while to freshen up my memory haha
THanks Tony, nice vid. Attaching it next week.
Toby Trout thanks for watching, glad it helped. Good luck with yours
Your dog was like WTF?? Lol
Right!
Nice job! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
GM1961 thanks sir . I had to watch it too this year to remind myself how to do it
This was my 2nd year with the tractor and blower. We got about 8 inches in Northern MI on Wed with temps in the teens. So to minimize my time hooking this up in the frigid temps I searched UA-cam for a refresher and found your video! Saved me big time! Thanks Tony!
Excellent video, thanks...
John Jones I hope it helped a little. thanks for watching and commenting. we like John deere tractors
Thank you, I have been wondering for the broom which would be very similar.
Eric G awesome glad it helped a little, thank you for watching and commenting. the broom would probably be useful at times I bet
The snow blower is the one attachment I didn't get for my Deere. Could have used it the first winter I had the tractor but the loader handled it fine and it was a freak winter here for central Virginia. We had three snow storms over a four week period and each storm dropped 24" of heavy snow. Just 20 miles north of me they got 36" storms but the lighter drifting snow. We had snow piled up everywhere.
WSMC Mc wow that sounds rough, I bet that loader had no problems though, such a fun versatile tractor, I just like seeing the snow shoot out of the blower . thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to comment. and have fun with your machine
Great video! Thanks for posting.
Could you tell me where you purchased the rings that you put the hydraulic hoses through or what you call them. I've searched but those ones are not coming up.
Tony you have one nice setup there, especially with all the attachments! You ever think about getting a cab, it sure makes pushing/blowing snow a lot more comfortable?
1966roadking yeah buddy I need a cab , I don't like it when the snow blows back in my face haha. maybe Santa will bring one. thanks for watching and the comment
Hey, I know I'm bringing up an old post, but was just wondering if you've ever tried to leave the quick hitch attachment on, but take the blower off and put the FEL on? I'm looking at a 1025R and would like the front mount blower but would like the option to quickly switch back to the FEL for some things. I can see it'd greatly reduce front ground clearance with the bracket still in place but I can deal with that as long as the arms and bucket would clear the bracket.
So that mounts to the lawn mower brackets
to be honest the rear mounts are much more usefull then the front mounts.. yeah its nice to be able to drive straight ahead and see where your going easier BUT with the low ground clearance of this blower loading it on a trailer is pretty much impossible without it dragging if you plan to transport it... also the plastic impeller wears fast and wont throw as much snow in the future. You also need to remove all the mower deck quick hitch stuff to attach the blower system.
Good video and no matter what the deere 1025 is a sweet tractor
very good points, the front mount certainly has some downfalls, and is not for everyone , I needed a front mount because we use the tractor year round to haul trailers and whatnot around the property but putting it on a trailer is tricky to say the least. thanks for watching and giving more points of view. we definitely like our little tractor
FWIW, John Deere recommends these 1026R tractors be trailer towed in the backward position. I believe it's because the hood doesn't have a second safety latch. It the wind should catches it, it's gone. You can sometimes load a tractor with an attachment up the ramp better backwards vs. forward. Great video. :)
16B9 yes. I think backing it on is best also.
My dealer called and said my 54" snow blower is in. Did you uncrate your snow blower and put it together yourself or did you have the dealer do it? They want over $300 to uncarte and put it on my 1026R. Talking with the shop foreman about the chain tension he says it "should" already be set up from the factory out of the crate. My salesman says he can deliver it to my house uncrated. Thanks for your advise and pointers on this.
16B9 if it was me , I would not pay them $300. if you are going to have the tractor for a while it would be better in the long run to know as much as possible to save money in the long term
When you go into reverse does it kill the auger/shut down the tractor, or is there a bypass so it keeps running and turning? on the 1025R....thanks!!
Casey James yes there is a safety switch under the seat is did a video on. was very annoying to me so I had to fix it also makes it mow in reverse. caution I'm sure it voids the warranty
cool, mine is still under warranty at the moment. also I hadn't realized that you can pull up on the PTO knob and it'll let you go in reverse!? that'll come in handy mowing and blowing. its a good snow blower, I'm really glad I went with the front mount.
Casey James yes you can pull on the PTO knob , I just got tired of it and did a bypass. so I never had to worry about it. but safety is key and wouldn't recommend what I did if there were small kids or something/animal to get hurt
Nice! I have the same setup. I was wondering if it was just mine that was loud but I guess they all are? Are they that noisy new? I bought mine used. Thanks
They do seem a little noisy however as long as you check the oil level in the gearbox for your auger and check your bearings for any play or looseness you should be fine and get plenty of service out of your machine. Definitely change the oil if you bought it used. The snowblower itself has a gearbox. Thanks
