For those of you watching this video and using a more recent version of the Axe Fx Firmware: Turn the Presence up to around 7. With the recent updates, the presence knob on the 5150 models works differently than it did when I originally made this video, so if you’re watching in the future, try a higher Presence value than what I showed here. Like everything else, feel free to dial it to taste. As always, thanks for watching!
Thank you! I’m continually amazed by FAS stuff. The competition puts out some good stuff too, but Fractal has been my first choice for a long time now.
I can’t imagine a fan of Metal Music coming away from this lesson without great respect for your knowledge and expertise in this area. Once again your skill set of guitar mastery and technical knowledge provide your subscribers with an experience that is unique to your channel. Excellent work.
Watched this video before going to bed. Tomorrow will try myself to build something similar to my liking. Thank you so much. That reminded me of the older In Flames tones. Cheers!
This was really cool to watch as someone who doesn't know how this stuff works. I enjoyed the peak behind the curtains to see how you achieve some of these things. I also just enjoyed the little samples of metalcore throughout the video.
I couldn't agree more. I love the detail in all your videos they are so helpful. Another great one to watch thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent.
Thanks for your other comment and this suggestion. I love Leon’s videos and tones as well. I honestly don’t know if I could do a whole series on modern metal tones alone, since I’m by no means an expert in that area, but I can definitely make some more tutorials going forward for the tones I’m particularly proud of or the things people are interested in. Do you have any specific examples of things you’d want to see?
I’ve never experienced the Quake series firsthand, but watching gameplay always makes my head spin. I just went and gave some tracks from the soundtrack a listen, and yeah, they definitely have that angry, late 90’s-early 2000’s rock/metal vibes.

Awesome video - it is amazing how just an amp and a cab block is all you need for a killer tone! Love FAS!

Super tight playing man

Thanks for the video. It's very close to the tone I want to make. I will use this as a jumping off point
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you found it useful!
Sick, love the mods ypu made and settings you used. What incredible sound!

1k subs🎉🎉
Thank you! I legitimately cannot believe it actually happened. Thanks for watching videos and subscribing!
You should do a series dialing in modern metal tones with the Axe FX. Leon Todd tends to make more old school tones as much as I enjoy his videos.

@@SethSilvaMusic Trent friggin Reznor did the Q1 soundtrack, and Q2's is by Sonic Mayhem. And that's the one that i was instantly reminded of.
Please sir, teach me to shred like you do
If you got the time, I’ve got the time
Hey man, what kind of pickups are those?
EMG 57/66 TW set
@@SethSilvaMusic Thanks. Would you be willing to share your Fractal presets?
The snare is too loud
