My dad used to have a truck just like that. 2001 f350 dually with a 7.3 automatic, extended cab with the long box and a brushgaurd. We kept it all original except for the brushgaurd and the occasional maintenance. He got It from the cremation society of Minnesota where the owner used It to pull a camper and for a daily. It pulled a lot of cars home on a 27ft hiway star trailer (custom built), I remember going with my dad many times to get cars from customers, we had loading and unloading down to a science. The whole family loved that truck, I was brought home from the hospital barely even a day old in it. The only way my parents could get me too fall asleep as a baby was to bring me for a ride in the truck, the vibrations knocked me out right away. We had even taken a trip to south Dakota pulling an old heavy camper, stopping at many places along the way including Custer state park, wall drug, and the pioneer auto museum. That truck was part of the family. When we moved from the country into town we used a 40 ft enclosed trailer and loaded all our things into it at once, the only truck we had to pull it was the dually(as we called it) and it pulled it well. After we moved into town though my dad stopped doing so much mechanic work for people (he was a diesel tech for 20 years and he did a lot of normal mechanicing too, he has bad arthritis in his hands) and stopped using the truck as much as he used to. It sat in the driveway for a year and a half, we used it occasionally and started it often, but it was not good for it to sit. We decided to sell it, after a good while a buyer came along that we knew would love the truck as much as we did, it was his dream truck. He bought the truck around the start of 2018 and we even drove it to his home that was pretty far away (we had a special occasion near there anyway). He was at work but his wife was home when we delivered the truck, she later contacted us about how he had been sleeping in it for a week. We knew it was at a good home. About 3 weeks ago my dad asked him through Facebook how he was liking the truck, he was then informed that about two months after we sold it the truck had been totaled in a bad wreck. someone had decided to do a slow u turn on a highway with people behind them, and our old truck couldn't stop fast enough not to hit the turning vehicle, the man swerved and hit the car at 65 mph. Nobody was hurt that I know of but the vehicles were both totaled, the dually looked repairable because the brushgaurd had taken most the hit but it was actually really messed up. The frame moved on impact and totaled the truck. I have not seen any pictures of the other vehicle but I'm guessing it didn't look much like a car anymore. Losing something once is hard, losing it twice is even harder. I'm 12 now and It is still hard to think about. All the good times we had. We did purchase a 1972 f100 that is all original, even the 2 tone green. We are the 3rd owners of it, the first was a beet farm in ND where they used it and took great care of it. We bought it because the family wanted a truck that we could bring to car shows and also fit in the small garage. Thanks to anyone used up some of their precious time to read this.
That's awesome that you had your son "help" you out during the build. I remember doing stuff like this all the time with my dad when I was little. Some of my best memories as a child. Awesome build by the way!
obviously your not aware of the value pre emission 7.3 diesels, especially one with a zf6. that old truck is now worth about 8 to 12 grand . a new comparable truck is around 80,000.has terrible reliability, worse fuel mileage, and are extremely expensive to repair and maintain. the ol 7.3 is rated for 500k service life from ford (international), and many get close to a million miles before needing major engine work. your lucky to get 150k out of the new diesels because of the emissions.
@@fordpintoif you use your truck like a truck and not a daily commuter then emissions work as they should. The place I used to work had about 30 4th and 5th gens in the 400-700k range. Most of the trucks only had routine maintenance but they actually worked for a living.
So many see the finished product yet not realize the time, energy, focus and dedication it took to make the product viable. That was a tough by yourself, great job! I have an 01 F350 PSD and changing a flat is hard work for me!
Yea bigger trucks are harder to work on, that leaf spring is like 100lbs
Awesome video, a true mechanic
Thank you
בכל הסירטון הזה,רק דבר אחד במיוחד הרגיז אותי,זו המוסיקה שבחרת להלביש על הסירטון,פשוט מוסיקה מזעזעת .
I don’t understAnd
Never get rid of that thing thats a solid truck dependble you got there ...
Wow great job! Looks amazing after!!
Thx man :)
Excellent man, she's great now, perfect.
Thx brother
Yeah I know this is supposed to be about the build but I like the way you let your son help you and by the way great piece of property I wish I had space like that
Thank you appreciate it, we got lucky when economy crashed bought it from bank, but it needs everything redone because it’s 1987
I got same truck mines 99 tho but I put 285 75 16 tires on it with 1 1/2 inch spacers on rear wheels made look really nice.
I have one the same year lariant.
Very good truck
That kid is a little mechanical champion, nice build. A man, his son, an angle grinder and a trolley jack.
I hope he will keep improving
Nice job, as always. Well done Nick!
Thx appreciate it
Nice job fixing up the best Power Stroke out there! You do great work! Mine's a 2000 F-250 7.3 4X4 Lariat... I'm rebuilding my old 72' F-250 Camper Special and hope to have it back on the road next Spring.
Welcome to the 7.3 club :) love this truck, can’t wait to have it straight piped and tuned
Ok. That truck was really thrashed when you started. Damn.
Hardworking & Dedicated this dude!!

I hope so also :)
You are an artist

Thanks really appreciate it!!
Don’t forget to buy the LED flasher relay. The OEM will fry, and it will blow a fuse somewhere away from home and you will be stuck.
Already arrived 👍 now just gotta figure out a way to reach it haha
Nice build man! So cool see your kid help you! My son does the same!
you work is very good, and your kid so cut. congrats bro
Thank you really appreciate it
It only needs a straight pipe other than that great build, I love to watch this kind of videos
Thx brother, and yes straight pipe coming, I take, tuner, will drive 1000% funner
Gorgeous build man, I love a 7.3. That’s my plans, do a full resto.
Thx bro, 6 speed is fun!! Can’t wait to straight pipe it tune and intake!!
I love the pickup man! Looks amazing. Keep up th hard work! I want to do things like this! Sooner than later I will be able to! Love the videos!!!!!!
Thx Nathan, these older trucks so much easier to work on than the new video game computer trucks lol
Love that little boy.
Thx bro, he’s trouble lol
Nice truck. The older Fords where actually built Ford tough.
I totally agree
They still say there built ford tough but there weak now so thats why u buy a Chevy
AduptUniform26 I think he as implying that ford just uses it as a selling technique now instead of back in the day when the slogan built ford tough meant these trucks were tough as nails
Raceboy5512YT well ya but Chevy is still better in multiple ways that’s all
AduptUniform26 how is chevy better than ford? Their most reliable car was the prizm and it wasn't even a chevy!
this was really fun to watch ngl
Thx glad you enjoyed :)
Nick totally enjoyed your video! I have a 2003 f350 crew cab dually 2 wheel drive/auto. I was hoping you could settle a doubt I have about that 2 inch lift you installed on your truck. How much did it change the the ride as far as comfort? Thanks for sharing and hopefully you can help. Tc from Nevada
Lol good to see I'm not the only one who had straps and chains pulling the axle everywhere just to level it
Haha yup
My dad didn't had the patience to let me help him on any project, he would give me a Tonka Truck and tell me to go play in the backyard lol.. That makes me happy to see a relation like that :)
My dad owned one just like this one but was red transmission blew out 134,897 miles. my dad sold it and got a 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD high country
Well done Nick
Thank you
Very Satisfying to watch 👍🏻
Thx really appreciate it!
Nick certainly knows how to repair stuff fast.. o_O
Lol thanks easy
I changed the wheels on my Hilux with my 8 yr old son, longest wheel change ever, but most rewarding 2 hours.
How did this get so many dislikes? It’s a great video! I’m proud of you for saving a good truck.
Thank you appreciate it! I don’t know, there is always a group that you can’t please EVER!! lol

Thank you bro, gracias
I like your work and your truck :) Great job ;-) Greetings from Czech republic :)
Thank you :)
;-)
Awesome truck. Simple, Tough, Reliable and 4x4. What else would you need ?, i'd love to see that truck on bigger AT tires. I have a 3.0 (international engine) diesel 2007 Ford Ranger, here in Argentina.
Congrats for that 350!
Thank you, really appreciate it for now I just wants to do 4” straight pipe and tune and then do nose to 2016 swap and interior swap
Супер мощь! Парню уважение за труды.
Спасибо бро :)
When I first read the subject I thought, man, this is going to be a really fast, fast forward, now I realize that you don't know the definition for a full build. I own and maintain 9 of these trucks including complete restore/rebuild, I don't think you have a clue, but hey, good job on what you did do.
What did you use to weld the plastic hip crack ? Looks good.
