    Lake champlain is one of the best places on earth. I've been going up a couple times a year since I was in diapers. After 30 years I still look forward to it just as much. Truly a special place, glad you guys got to experience such a wonderful area.
    In fact, I used to own a Pearson 26' on the Lake at Ladds Landing marina. I miss that boat a lot! Many good times

    Yes. Do that. Some places have nixed liveaboards all together (the state of Georgia) for example. So adding the WHERE we can go to the how much it costs info will give us much needed knowledge that is hard to find these days. Thanks in advance.

    The Treasure Coast runs $11-16 a foot, plus $50-85 for electric depending on the marina you want to be in. There's a very nice one right next to downtown Stuart that includes shuttle service and loaner bikes plus the marina itself is very nice!

    The live aboard cost idea would be a great piece to have on your site. Most of the information that I've found online through forums is relatively outdated. I've seen advice ranging from, don't tell people you live aboard, to live aboards getting charged a $500 fee on top of the slip fee. It would also be beneficial to learn about the live aboard dynamic. I think a lot of people live aboard for a period of time before cruising, is it an enjoyable experience or just something you have to grunt through in order to start cruising? The realistic factor for living on a sailboat is keeping costs down. It's important that living on a sailboat ends up being cheaper than the average cost of living on land for that specific city.
    As an example, in San Diego a high cost of living city you may end up paying up to $1200/month for slip and live aboard fee. However, the rent for a studio apartment in San Diego on average is $1600. So when looking at both of those costs it does seem cost effective to live on a sailboat. Granted I don't live in San Diego and I'm sure there are tons of exceptions, can't even guarantee the average monthly rent.
    Since your channel is very transparent in terms of finances I'm thinking a good portion of your audience is looking for that type of info, myself included. Thank you for doing this!

    • @AbandonComfort
      @AbandonComfort  6 років тому +1

      Nick Petersen our thoughts exactly 🙂 we planned on moving to either NYC or San Diego/SF before we ended up vlogging full-time because we'd make drastically more money due to higher cost of living but we'd be paying $700 a month to liveaboard. So essentially earning a higher cost of living wage but paying rent like we live in Florida. There's a chance we may end up doing it at some point in our lives if we ever wanted to cruise and not vlog. So save up after 2-3 years of working in NYC/SF then cruise and not worry about producing episodes or anything. Who knows but for now we'll keep sharing our journey 🙂

    If it's not too personal, I'm curious how your bank account is doing after spending so much time on the hard...car rental costs, gas, camping fees, meals, etc. Also, were you sleeping in the car or did you have a tent? Looking forward to seeing you back on the water...

    • @AbandonComfort
      @AbandonComfort  6 років тому +1

      Nothing is too personal here. We share our life to inspire others to live out their dreams. If we excluded costs we'd be just like everyone else who just wants to "inspire". We want to educate and make people realize they can do this if we can. We own the car, it's a Prius so it takes $15 to fill up, camping we've done for free 90% of the time and we cook the majority of our meals. We'll have a whole episode dedicated to our route for the roadtrip & all of the costs associated with the trip.

    Do you really think there is no good surfing in the Bahamas? hahahahahaha
    Also, the fog in Main looks SOOO cool!

      I've never heard of surf in the Bahamas but I''m sure there is some. Shit, there's surf pretty much everywhere if you count 1-2s as surf. The question is will it be any good? Send over what info you have for surf spots out there. I'd love to do some research so we can plan stops around swells :)

    We don't have Australian Shepherds here in Australia. You probably know the breed actually has nothing to do with Australia. Your pup is just adorable. I have Border Collies who are related to the Aussie. I am wondering why you docked the tail. The procedure has been illegal here since 2004.

      David H. we noticed the tail too suprisingly

      mikenorm2002 not to mention balance when running and turning too. It’s there for a reason.

      David H. We didn't dock his tail, the breeder did. If it was our preference we would've liked him to have one.

      I have always wanted one but they are super energetic and they are bred for herding. I wonder how he/she sorry forgot? Wonder how well he will do living on a boat full time? Beautiful pup! 👍🏼

    Very cool video, great camera and editing work, when are you guys setting sail, are you going to the Bahamas, we are leaving January 7 for the Bahamas, would be fun to do a meet and great, two other sailing channels well be at the meet and greet, M J SAILING and SHAUN and JULIA sailing, we well have a celebrity onboard, my girlfriend is cousins to Nashville recording artist KELSEA BALLERINI, her and her husband well be joining us, my girlfriend is also from Nashville, she is a studio vocalist and musician, she has recorded with all the big stars, she just came off the road touring with Carrie Underwood as a backup singer, so there well be plenty of live music on this trip, our new boat is a Privilege 615 Catamaran, so its plenty big enough to party on, looking forward too meeting you two.
