Derek is such a stand up guy and seeing his raw emotions for his wife just proves it. I've always adored Derek and even more now. They took part of skull out, wore a helmet until swelling went done, then another surgery to replace her skull. I have been with her the entire journey. We still continue to pray for a miracles & constantly ask people to give funding for Epilepsy research!! So many suffer! GETTING OFF TRACK HERE< SORRY. Love & Blessings from Fla.

Hi Hayley & Derek! I gotta say this. My stepfather contracted Covid pneumonia during the pandemic in 2020. He had a high fever. Days later, he didn't seem right, and his speech was off. So I took him to the hospital. Hours later, we were told he had a hematoma, and a craniotomy was the next procedure. In total, he had 3 surgeries. This was terrible news, and we all prayed for his speedy recovery. I remember feeling so sad bc I couldn't visit him at the hospital due to covid. He was all alone. Of course, I cried and cried and faced the reality of losing him. But never forget the power of prayer and love. I think we all experience this for a reason. God only knows. Now, my stepfather is back to normal. Though, he had time to reflect on his life & and family and never gave up hope. He's always been an active individual, like exercising & walking and eating healthy nutritious food.. I also thank the excellent doctors in Los Angeles. So stay positive & strong, Hayley. I helped my daughter who's 25 get through leukemia. My oldest daughter who's 28 was her stem cell donor. It was quite the journey and I totally understand where you guys are coming from. From someone who was a neurosurgery ICU nurse before having my own disabling illness, I am so thrilled for you both. I have seen the fear in the eyes of loved ones and have seen patients who had a severe cervical fracture walk back in through the doors! I have witnessed so many miracles! I helped my daughter who's 25 get through leukemia. My oldest daughter who's 28 was her stem cell donor. It was quite the journey and I totally understand where you guys are coming from. It's been a year now and she's just now starting to enjoy her life again. You are such a warrior and so is my little girl. You guys are so inspiring to the rest of the world❤

From someone who was a neurosurgery ICU nurse before having my own disabling illness, I am so thrilled for you both. I have seen the fear in the eyes of loved ones and have seen patients who had a severe cervical fracture walk back in through the doors! I have witnessed so many miracles! I am so very thankful you have your miracle too! Early intervention is essential! Thank you Derek for being her advocate and constant cheerleader! It does make a difference.
