'Our very own Davros' - When Potter gets wheeled into the Robot Wars room Ray Von calls him Davros...as in creator of the Daleks in Dr Who...lower half dalek, upper half mangled and weird old looking fella.
I absolutely love you guys and you're reaction videos ! Canadian here who lives in the UK (I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario 🇨🇦). Keep up the good work my friends, hope you get over here to the UK some day ! Still miss my home of course. Love you guys
Thank you so much Stevan. Lucy lived in Hamilton in the early 90's. We plan to travel to the U.K. eventually, so let's have a drink together when we do. 😊🍻
You guys are definitely part of us Brits. I've said it before. You might stumble a bit on the odd colloqialism, but you get it lightening quick. Because you're in tune with the laughs and comedy. Americans just give blank looks as it goes over their heads. Thanks again.
Spot on about the legion. We'd pop there because they stayed open later, had discounted beer and had darts and pool. Often the main room would have been booked put for a wedding or bingo night or similar. Good Times.
I'm surprised that you didn't get the Sushi..Roy Fish line absolute genius haha but that's why this show has so much reply factor.. I've lost count at how many times I've watched this, makes it even better that it was filmed in my hometown of Bolton.
the first time this was aired on Channel 4 in England I watched up to the fourth episode of the 1st series before I realised that Peter Kay was the bouncer and the owner in the wheel chair classic. love the small people at the beginning still made me piss my self laughing , there are still some social clubs like that in the north but very very few
it's not about how good you are, it's how hard you try...a bit of company on the weekend is all some crave and shows like that keep the lonely coming back. . . what an awesome show, don't know how many times the dog kept coming in to see what I was laughing at
The bouncers are max & paddy.Peter is max.paddy is paddy mcguiness.himself a comedian but also boyhood school friend of peters.they ended up with there own show-max & paddy road to nowhere.well worth watching as well
Hey you two barmy buggers🤣 your intros are getting as mad as this talent but whatever you do don't do them in your pants Brad like that nutter😂 bloody good laugh, literally cried at you two pissing yourselves about tattoo from Fantasy island 🤣🤣brilliant, thank you both👏👏👌✌️🍻
citizens advice is a free advice service for the public throughout the UK. NUS is a card given to students allowing discounts in pubs and food outlets.
Phoenix nights is one of my favourite comedy series and I enjoyed the video very much. If you get a chance try the one where the horse mounts the bull machine that people were riding trying to stay on it. The horse drinks someone's beer and all hell breaks loose. Can I also let you know that the security guards (*Max and Paddy) created a new series that was as funny or maybe even better. Hopefully you can include a few of those in future video's. This was the best video I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME, THANKS
Series 2, can't remember which episode, but Potter gets stuck overnight on his stairlift due to a power cut, just brilliant. Can't wait to see your reaction to it.
Okay. My legion club in the north west of England had a compare who was a little person. He road a midget bike and his bike leathers were an exact copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller costume. This is so true to life it's unbelievable.
Was it Bolton? I was brought up in Wigan, but my mums from Bolton and my dads from Leigh, my grandparents used to visit their local legion/working man's club (not sure which one or where) in Leigh, it was what their generation did, I wouldn't be surprised if they met there.
NUS stands for the National Student's Union that has a discount card for it's members and it's not uncommon to check if a venue, shop etc will accept it.
My parents never had a "club" but my ex's dad lives at his local "working men's club" In some areas they're still thriving and will have a "turn" on at the weekend. Cheap booze will never go out of fashion.
You would think these types of plaxes were on the decline, but no. Quite the opposite. There's literally thousands of places like this the length and breadth of the whole of the UK. I know because we supply them, and I've been members of quite a few. Very prevalent in the south too. I've been a member of two in Dagenham when I've lived there. I've visited associated clubs in North Wales. These types of clubs are doing better than pubs and nightclubs. It's Mainly down to two reasons, they are usually within a short walking distance, and you can get cheaper drinks. Quite a lot of them you can still get a pint for under £3. So yes, these places exist more than people think they do. And there is a royal legion in almost every town that serves the ex forces and their families in more ways than just supplying a social club. And phoenix nights has gotten the atmosphere in these places down to a 'T'. Even now, 20 years later. Also, did anyone notice that it was "Bat out of Hell" playing over the old couple dancing at the end?
Hope you 👀 this! You have similar tastes to myself Phoenix Nights 👌 Time Gentleman Please ain't for everyone but it's quality too.👌 Remember ALTERNATIVE COMEDY at the Funny Farm? I would like to recommend the Mighty Boosh again not everyone's cup of tea but I think you'll enjoy it! I'd describe is as psychedelic type comedy 😂
when paddy said he went to Amsterdam and the prostitute made him wash his old man in the sink, then max said, what you took your dad, his old man is his dick, but max thought he meant his dad. don't think you got that one, great reactions to phoenix nights 😂
Brad & Lucy @ the start washing his old man in the sink he was referring to washing his penis, on the door asking for reduction on her nus card? Was I think her student union card. Davros was leader of the darleks from British doctor who.
Did I hear a British accent coming through, not bad I thought their was a midget under the table And when i said a midget, I meant a British midget, not a Canadian midget trying to impersonate a British midget cos that would be crazy, and when I said midget that is what we used to call people, that today you would know as a "mini me, sized person" that's all I've got to describe a midget, or a leprechaun looking type person without the Irish accent or green clothes, or then again they could have a Irish accent, I don't know, its to late to think about this stuff after a couple of pints
You missed the very first joke in this episode 😂 "Made me wash me old man in the sink" (referring to his penis) to which Max replies "You took your Dad?" Easy to do, I've watched every episode of Phoenix Nights many many times and only after repeat listens do you get all the jokes. A lot of them are like catching the end of conversations and you have to listen carefully. Some brilliant innuendos and lines.
i had yout DM link saved from previous reactions, i thought you wouldn't upload them here. I checked a couple of times to see if you'd uploaded more. I figured you'd just lost interest. For what it's worth, you should have reacted to That Peter Kay thing before this because it was where these characters originated. In That Peter Kay Thing, each episode focuses on a single character. There were a load more characters of his.
@@bradlucy i enjoy your humour man, the burp intro the other day was something else. Im 37 and have got to watch some of the best ever comedy from it's inception eg Ali G, Bo Selecta (a series based on random a-z list celeb alter egos, sort of a weird outdated series now but still a cult classic in my age group). Ali G, Bo selecta, peter kay, inbetweeners, peep show, facejacker/fonejacker were all Channel 4. BBC used to have the best comedy but it became too bland and pc. channel 4 had the freedom to air all the filth you can imagine. We used to watch the US series Oz on channel 4. we had a show called eurotrash in the 90s back when you had to look at a dirty mag/paper to see that type of content. i think now, channel 4 is dog sh** too and pretty much all comedy has died. im always looking out for new content to watch and it's dead. I've enjoyed curb your enthusiasm for a couple of years, that's been a lot of fun, something different. south park isnt even funny anymore. with all that said there is one guy who occasionally puts out something insane..and that's the scottish funny guy Limmy. He had his own bbc scotland series called The Limmy Show, now he tends to just put out online streaming content. look up the video "limmy's advice when facing God's judgement" that one is pretty dark but one of the funniest things ive ever heard.
UA-cam has blocked some episodes of Phoenix Nights, but for some reason released this episode. Other episodes of Phoenix Nights are on Dailymotion and Patreon.
Just before the colonoscopy, the radio was playing 'The Whole of the Moon'. Legendary.
Your 'old man' is slang for your man bits!! Hence the confusion over washing him in the sink in Amsterdam!
NUS the national students Union card. Basically students can get a discount
"I wanna moonwalk son, but life's a shithouse". One of my favourite lines from the show.
'Our very own Davros' - When Potter gets wheeled into the Robot Wars room Ray Von calls him Davros...as in creator of the Daleks in Dr Who...lower half dalek, upper half mangled and weird old looking fella.
Didn’t even know you guys done Phoenix Nights, get in. One of the best sitcoms ever. A classic 😂
"Look at that, its filthy. Sheila give it a wipe" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Got me too! Ha
“We do cruises. Hull to Rotterdam”. The Hull to Rotterdam is an overnight Ferry
Love this episode and brilliant reaction. A brew is a cup of tea!

@Brad & Lucy OMG that would be awesome ! And Lucy lived in Steel City too ! Let me know when you're here, that would be incredible !
We still have a Legion here in this town. The older folks still "go down the Legion."
You guys are definitely part of us Brits. I've said it before. You might stumble a bit on the odd colloqialism, but you get it lightening quick. Because you're in tune with the laughs and comedy. Americans just give blank looks as it goes over their heads. Thanks again.
Thats max and paddy and their serious max and paddy's road to nowhere is even better, love see you guys react to it
The old couple doing the terrible dancing at the end is probably my favoirite bit of the entire series!
It's such a joy watching these with you!
Spot on about the legion.
We'd pop there because they stayed open later, had discounted beer and had darts and pool. Often the main room would have been booked put for a wedding or bingo night or similar.
Good Times.
Love this video!!!! You need to watch max and paddy road to nowhere! You will love it!!! With Peter Kay it’s the best
I'm surprised that you didn't get the Sushi..Roy Fish line absolute genius haha but that's why this show has so much reply factor.. I've lost count at how many times I've watched this, makes it even better that it was filmed in my hometown of Bolton.
I’m from Norwich in the east of England but I love our English northern humour brilliant

NUS is national union of students. If they have an NUS card they get discount at places. Max and Paddy thought it was drugs
I never knew there were Legion clubs in Canada. No wonder you understand Phoenix Nights better than the US reactors!
Oh yes, legions were a huge part of Canadian culture.
Yes that was Buck Rodgers theme. 😂🤣👍
... Rogers

The club that they use for the Phoenix club is in Farnworth, Bolton where I live. We use to see filming all the time in and around Bolton.
Series 2, can't remember which episode, but Potter gets stuck overnight on his stairlift due to a power cut, just brilliant. Can't wait to see your reaction to it.

@@Delicious_J It was The Legion Club in Haydock. But I think they were all very similar. It was a right of passage growing up in Haydock.
NUS stands for the National Student's Union that has a discount card for it's members and it's not uncommon to check if a venue, shop etc will accept it.
Max the bouncer played by Peter is based upon an ex local bouncer in Bolton called Trevor Roberts (The Bolton Iron man). The resemblance is uncanny.
Also, Robot Wars should be a strong contender for a future series, roughly Series 4 is a good place to start.
Great episode but you'll love series 2, there's some real classics coming up
Bonus fun fact: The doorman with the goatie beard was actually Peter Kay
Was it really,
When you've done these there are comps of the outtakes on yt that are gold
Paddys girl friend = the same now woman from pete kays "Car share"
He called the actor in the wheelchair Potter after Lionel Barrymore in the film It’s A Wonderful Life.
Lol😂 still love you guys, still watching.
My parents never had a "club" but my ex's dad lives at his local "working men's club"
In some areas they're still thriving and will have a "turn" on at the weekend.
Cheap booze will never go out of fashion.
😂😂😂 Great show, I loved it at the time and wish they brought it back. Love you guys ❤️ not in a gay way 😉🥺🤣
Love that. We call a workies, (working mens club) the legion as well.
Are you planning to watch the spinoff Max & Paddy when these are finished?
Yes, definitely
Max n Paddy is fucking hilariously funny
Best line ever, how far away are they, 24 carat 👌🥇👍🤣😂
Thas was so funny when you realised they were short people!
Washing his old man in the sink, refers to his love length, "you took ya dad" 🤔
I have had a good time in the Canadian Legion in Bay Roberts😁😁
NUS is national union of students, a card students are issued to get discounts of goods and entry to clubs etc.
when your finished phoenix nights there is a spin off max and paddys road to nowhere the bouncers
Didnt know yous reacted to this. Abdolutely brilliant. Love peter kay hes a ledge. You should react to more and carshare.
In 70s, loved Shawaddywaddy 🇬🇧👵
Welcome to the great british delight of the double entendre
Coming in your ear 😂

Kay is a genius.
NUS - National Union of Students - as a student this was a card that in some places a small discount was given.
Prior to the colonoscopy I'm sure I heard the dj on the hospital radio station say 'we'll come in your ear' !

I thought I was hallucinating for the first 90 seconds of this video!
Working men's clubs are a tad different to the legion clubs over here... But not a lot 😂😂😂😂
NUS is the National Union of Students, they get discounts in loads of places
Correct that was the Buck Rogers theme tune
Love being from the uk 🤣
Yup the Buck Rodgers theme brought back some memories. Mainy of Erin Grey
Yes, in a very tight space suit 😜
when paddy said he went to Amsterdam and the prostitute made him wash his old man in the sink, then max said, what you took your dad, his old man is his dick, but max thought he meant his dad. don't think you got that one, great reactions to phoenix nights 😂

N.U.S. National Union of Students - they sometimes get discounts at clubs.

Try early doors proper northern comedy mostly about pub life.very funny & friendly
You paused at exactly the same point I thought "is that Buck Rogers?"
You should watch drunk horse phoenix nights episode xx
OMG help I'm dying 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
the stupid thing lol, during the 70s and 80s, at workmans clubs in the north of england, this is not to far away from the truth lol
National UNION of Students
Slowly catching up, your Brit accent, amazing. I'm worried as don't detect yours. Maybe I'm losing mine a bit?
Is that Bond at the end?
No old man is a term for your penis in the UK 😂🇬🇧❤️🇨🇦
The joke about being made to wash his 'old man' in the sink, 'old man' is slang for his penis!
the intro 🤣🤣
